  even after reinstalling with windows xp pro (I need to connect to a primary domain controller) has not changed. I installed all the drivers of the tool-cd burned by a toshiba tool in the original installation.

  Probably there s something wrong with the chipset driver that controls USB ports in your case, I would be to reinstall the driver from the official website of Toshiba chipset.

  Did you install any additional software or driver for your mouse? If so I recommend you to remove this software.
