'My videos' folder missing

I use Vista. The 'My videos' folder is missing. Impossible to find it's a search and my documents, music files etc is still there. How can I fix?

Hi CatherineP,

When you try to save the downloaded videos?

Method 1
I suggest to select manually the location and then try to save the videos and see if you will be able to save the videos.

Method 2
Try with the new user account.

Create a user account

If everything works well in the new user account, then I suggest you to transfer data and settings to the fixed aid corrupt profile.

am usind windows vista and I found the track record, when I deleted it I lost all my videos folder, and when I checked in the Recycle Bin that they were not there.is there a way to restore?

    Hello

Once removed the HDD data can't be recovered. However, you can use your favorite search engine to browse third-party data recovery software and use this software to recover data.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

You can also view the following link to recover lost or deleted files and try the steps:

  • Windows Media Center ERROR: "some of the files needed to play radio or video are missing or corrupt." In Vista x 64

It was working fine last week and now I get this error in Windows Media Center, "some of the files needed to play radio or video are missing or corrupt.
Record of components Windows Media Center may have failed. »

    HUH?

    I use Vista x 64.

I looked this error and ran sfc/scannow in administrator mode.  It took about 15 minutes and he said that some errors have been found that cannot be fixed.  I can NOT open the log file to display errors, because when I find it and click on it, it says "access denied."

The basis going on, and made the Windows Update, I just ran on 13 April to break and corrupt something?

I fixed that by returning to NVIDIA 196.21 driver version.

  • Removed from my videos folder

I inadvertently deleted my video folder last night and went to the Recycle Bin to restore it but it wasn't there.

I restored the computer to the day before and the folder but only reappeared with a single film in it. Lost on 20-30 movies

    I'm running on Vista Premium

    Best regards and thank you

    Hello

The system restore only take snapshots of systemfiles/parameters, entered of registry etc to make sure you can go back to a functional State of windows in case of failure.

To recover deleted files, you can use a third-party as software:

    http://www.Piriform.com/Recuva

It is always difficult to recover deleted files and do it directly after deletion, restoring your system could make it harder for you to recover the files, but anyway, worth a try.

    Kind regards

    Hello

Unfortunately, Windows is unable to recover the deleted data from the Recycle Bin. You have to search the Web and use third-party software that could help you recover your deleted video folder.

  • One of the videos is missing after the download of the camera

    Original title: lack of video

I tried to download pictures and videos from my camera to the laptop.  One of the videos is missing.  He is no longer on my camera memory card and I can't find it on my computer.  Have checked basket and entered the registration number in the search box, but nothing.  Someone can help me as to where I can look or have I completely lost the video.

    Hi mmb2112,

If the file is deleted by mistake, then you can take a look at the Recycle Bin to restore the file (only if the file is not deleted).

My C drive is full and I have a D drive, how can I move video folder on drive d.

First make sure that your D drive is NOT a recovery drive, as is often the case today. If not, then:
Create a folder on D: (not to call my videos) then right click on the video folder (NOT in library view), choose Properties, click the location tab, choose move and navigate to the created folder if you find my answer helpful, please click the button "Vote as helpful"! Thank you! My Blog

  • Leak memory with Explorer.exe in the videos folder.

Leak memory with Explorer.exe in the folder of videos with thumbnails enabled. Using the resource monitor, I can see that explorer.exe is playback of video files, while the memory gradually increases until it is 99%. No such problem with memory leak when I put the provision 'list' (i.e. without thumbnails). Disabling thumbnails also eliminates the problem of memory leak, but this isn't what I want.  Main videos folder is. MKV files, with the codec video within the container MKV h.264 high profile. I tried to dissociate all media files with Media Player Classic Home Cinema (which I use to watch mkv videos).

More important, this problem seems only appeared after I installed SP1.

    Win7 x 64 Ultimate SP1, C2D E8500 8 GB of RAM, Western Digital 2 to Green Caviar.

More info: I realized that this only happens with the video files that don't have any generated tile. It's like Windows Explorer is reading through the entire video file to generate a thumbnail, but even after awhile that yet, it does not generate a thumbnail.

How to fix? Help! Thank you!

well I'm sorry, I think that I have not read your emails correctly.
