If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.
You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

How should I do if I have not signed with a my password each time that my computer is sitting a few minutes?
I sign on the first time and when I get up to go do something my screen saver turns on then when I move the mouse my sign on window back again once it says closed so I put the new password.
I just want it out when I log on the first time I won't have to connect again until 'AFTER THAT' I stopped and then return to the line. I have Windows 7 Home Preium
original title: WINDOW ON SIGN
Do all three of these parameters as some people have found this setting only in one place leads to the problem you described.
1 set the screen saver - Panel, customize, Screensaver [in the lower right corner of the window]. Clear the chckbox to connect new once it activates.
You should then check the opening of session of this parameter in both part
2 power options, [on the left side of the window] require a password on wake up
3 power options, plan {power} active settings change, change of plan avancΘs, [you will have to click on "view the currently hidden settings] {active power plan}, require a password on wake up
Steps 2 & 3 are simply verify that the change has been defined & saved - there should be no problem under normal circumstances.

I added a school e-mail account to my passport, which reqirered the phone to be password protected. I hate to enter a password every time I do on my phone. I deleted the e-mail account of the phone in the hope to do away with the login password, but it did not work. The phone does not allow me to disable the device password and wrote "political COMPUTER requires device to put password" below the option to turn on/off the device password. Any help or a way around it would be greatly appreciated.
Very well. Good luck.

Try to connect to my computer as the administrator, but after I put my login in it goes to check on the page and will not let me connect. The regular connection for the computer works fine. Any ideas?
Try a system restore to a Date before the problem began:
Restore point:
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/
Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.
Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.
Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...
Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.
http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm
Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

Vista hangs after logging in as an administrator, but front office is equipped fully upward
I am running Vista updated with the latest updates. Have not installed anything other than updates regular for McAfee, Webroot spyware and, of course, Vista. Computer hung up Saturday while I was downloading a podcast after being in mode 'sleep' from one day to the next what I usually do to close every night. I closed the program with Task Manager and decided to restart. When I stopped to restart it sat there for 1/2 hour in logging mode so I ended up doing a manual close. Since I rebooted several times and I get on the desktop but it hangs up with the circular icon (like old hourglass) and doesn't let me do anything. A couple of times my desktop image would not come to the top and the screen is black. On two restarts, it says Windows Explorer does not open and asked me if I wanted to close or continue. I tried both ways and nothing. I thought maybe the boot in safe mode, but not sure what to look for. Is it possible to return Friday night to the settings to correct? Don't even know if it's something available in Vista. I do not receive the above error messages other than windows Explorer and it's just the shot upwards and the inability to cross that.

How can I get my computer dell laptop to not tell administrator but have administrator rights?
I don't want just to tell administrator more, I want TO say my name, but I also don't want to have the two boxes when you identify yourself, answer as soon as possible thank you!
Go to control panel > accounts user and family safety > user accounts > change your account name
Otherwise, have more than one account has advantages and you don't need to see every time that you open a session. The following provides information on how to set up an account to connect automatically even when the other accounts exist (Note potential security risk): http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/377-log-automatically-startup.html
or to show the last logged-on user: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/182279-logon-screen-fix-showing-only-other-user-last-logged-user.html -
How to connect without requiring a password
I'm brand new to the inner workings of a mac. I am normally a PC person, and although it is still my main computer, I also bought my first mac. I worked with mac before, but I've never had to configure an or install the software. I do a few scavenger hunting, but I'm doing OK most of the time. However, something bothers me a bit. Whenever I turn on the computer, I have to enter a password to access the desktop computer. Is there a way to get around this? On my pc, I have it setup where I don't have to enter a password each time. I hit the power button and it opens a session and go directly to my desktop.
I saw an option in the preferences system--> users and groups, for automatic connection, but the drop-down list is grayed out (I didn't click the padlock at the bottom to make changes). Under the heading security privacy &, I also tried the deselection of the box "Require password", but when I rebooted, I had yet to connect.
The login screen can be bypassed? If so, I'm sure it's something really simple that I'm missing and I apologize, but as I said, I'm brand new to the implementation of a mac.

OK, so I just format my WD my passport ultra 1 TB to my xbox 1. Its now not show on my windows vista computer, worked and connected very well before, but now nothing appears. Anything to help. Thank you
OT:
Please help with this
Try this: go to "Start" then go to "Computer" right click on computer and left-click 'manage '.
This will bring you to the management of the computer. From there, you should see the drive. Try "initialize disk".
If you are not the "backup operator" or the "Administrator", then go to the control panel - system tools
-Administrative Tools, then click on "disk management". From there, you can follow these instructions.
Initialize new disksBackup operator or administrator is the minimum number of members required.
To initialize new disks In disk management, right-click the disk you want to initialize, and then click Initialize Disk.
In the dialog box initialize the disk , select the disk to initialize. You can choose to use the master boot record (MBR) or the style of partition GUID partition table (GPT).
Note The disk is initialized as a basic disk.
Additional considerations- New disks appear as uninitialized. Before you can use a disk, you must first initialize it. If you start disk management after the addition of a disk, the disk initialization Wizard appears then you can initialize the disk.

forgotten password on the administrator account, windows 8
I forgot my password on my administrator account. I want to change my password but I don't know what to do? I can't install programs in my local account because it requires the password to the administrator account.
Hello
"What to do if you forget your password Windows 8/8.1"
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/what-do-forget-Windows-password#1TC=Windows-8
If you have forgotten your Windows password, there are several ways to recover or reset:
If your PC is on a domain, your system administrator must reset your password.
If you use a Microsoft account, you can reset your password online. For more information, see the Web to reset your password page.
If you use a local account, use your index of password as a reminder.
If you've tried these suggestions and still unable to connect:
If you have Windows 8.1, you need to reinstall Windows.
If you have Windows RT 8.1, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your PC.

Hello! I use a Vista Home Premium desktop computer.
Before that I introduce the question, the reason why I ask...
The home computer is for the whole family to use. I have a mother who uses the computer to play some online games and downloads often these free trial games. Now, I am not satisfied because she goes around download everything without any knowledge on this Publisher, he could be. I am still lucky that the computer works fabulously. I have my own theories on computers, and I don't like running multiple user accounts on the computer because I think it compromises the speed and performance of the computer. My family is so on account of an administrator, with no password set. Which brings me to my question...
Y at - it defined an option to require a password to validate a program to download on the computer?
To answer your first question: No.
If there is that one account is an administrator account, and everyone can connect (no password), then everyone is a Director. Everyone can do this as it darn well pleases. Not only you, ' theory little "are mistaken, he invites possible irreversible disaster. If your account is ONLY infected or damaged and you will not be able to access the computer, YOU'RE COOKED.
Not only to use the standard account for everyday computing, you should have 2 admin accounts in case one of them is infested and locked.
It comes to your computer. Your call.t-4-2

It is an Acer Aspire 5315 that my mom gave to my daughter. She says that she has never created a system restore point that requires a password so how to do this? Oh, and I have no disc as it came preloaded.
Hello
A System Restore Point is not the process of factory settings recovery.
Using a System Restore Point puts the settings of the computer to an earlier date.
Recovery to factory settings is to reinstall the operating system to how it was when new.
Some Acer models have a default password that you use to start the process of the "hidden" recovery Partition Recovery
Usually press you Alt + F10 at startup to start the process of relocation and Acer default password should be 6 zeros, unless someone has changed.
If not, give Acer a phone call.
See you soon.

The printer is set up through a wireless network on a computer to Office XP. The wireless works fine with vista and XP desktop laptop. My laptop screens Vista network but the default printer icon is green light, saying that it is not connected properly. Now my laptop Vista wonder a logon user name and password that he never did before. I disabled all the security measures and not still it won't let me. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, Gary Gross,.
1. did you of recent changes on the computer?
2. do you have security software installed on the computer?
I suggest that you disable the password protected sharing on vista computer and check if it works.
To turn off password protected sharing, follow these steps:
(a) open the network and sharing Center by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click network and Internet, click network and sharing Center.
(b) subject sharing and discovery, click the arrow next to password protected sharing.
(c) click turn off password protected sharing, and then click apply. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Sharing files and printers with different versions of Windows
I hope this helps!
