My Windows 8 says it's a volume license version, how can I upgrade w10?

Hey all,.

Basically, Ive got a laptop and do not have to update anything yet, but not after seeing windows 10 in action as well as the date limit for the free update, I tried to update Windows 8 to 8.1, and then to 10, or directly to 10

But after checking why I couldn't see the 8.1 update seems ive got a version of windows volume 8 (no idea how I bought the lapop of pc world - it's a lenovo btw)

How can I work around this problem to fix it please people

Thanks in advance

Hello

That I would take to where you bought it from.

As you have a license in Volume Windows 8, you are not eligible for the free update for Windows 8.1 or the free update of Windows 10 by the process that you read here.

Two upgrades, to 8.1 and 10, with a Volume License are made through Software Assurance.

See your system administrator.

And Volume License are NOT for individual private use, they are for companies.

If you do not have a system of administration, you can buy a COMPLETE 8.1 or 10 licenses, NOT an upgrade license you have nothing of what is eligible to use a license upgrade...

That's why you can not upgrade to 8.1:

"If you are a customer of volume using a KMS or MAK license, you don't have right to the automatic upgrade.  If your organization, Software Assurance, you should be able to download the ISO of Windows 8.1 from there as well as the appropriate key.

There are different keys MAK to Windows 8 and Windows 8.1; they are not interchangeable. »

The same applies to Windows 10.

See you soon.
