My Windows Home Server evaluation copy is longer than 120 days. I can it upgrade to the final version?

I have Windows Home Server (trial version for XP installed) and is now longer than 120 days. Can I purchase this software and activate it?
Everything I see is Home Server 2011 which requires Windows 7 must be installed, my thing is too old for her.

Thank you

JB

MY DELL LATITUDE D610 HOW CAN I UPGRADE TO THE NEW VERSION OF WINDOWS? NOW IT IS WINDOWS 7, WHAT VERSION IS SUPPORT FOR USE WELL ON MY DEVICE? PLEASE HELP ME

Read this: upgrade Windows 10 Dell Latitude D610

Take a look at my answer, complete instructions.

Basically speaking, Dell officially supports Windows 2000 and Windows XP on Dell Latitude D610 (and other models of Dx10).

However it can really run Windows Vista and 7 at least, as long as you max out the RAM (2 GB, 2 x 1 GB, can be purchased at a great price in eBay) and install the drivers, in particular graphics drivers, look in Device Manager and see what drivers are needed manually.

If you're lucky to have a D610 with ATi graphics card then you can even run Windows 8 and 10 with all drivers available, and I can tell you that it won't be slow dog not unlike a lot of people say, I don't have something similar (a HP Compaq nx8220) in common use. Keep as lean as possible (not bloatwares, anti-virus etc.) system, and it will serve you well.

  • Not be able to start DW CS4 after upgrade to the final version of Windows 10

    Dear Sirs.

I installed DW CS4 on Windows 10 Preview Edition and it worked fine. After the upgrade to the final version of Windows 10 I'm no more able to start DW. I guess it's a problem with licensing. I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but is not changes anything.

Thank you for your help... Michael

There are some ongoing discussions about this, one of them in W10 is...

    Do a search for CMD

The icon right-click command prompt and choose Run as administrator

In prompt, type (make sure that space is there between sfc and /)

    sfc/scannow

    Press enter

When finished, restart the computer and try again to DW.

  • Can't upgrade to the latest version of the CC on my Windows machine?

I noticed that there is a new update of CC with new splash screens and dialog boxes open on some Adobe CC applications. This only happens on my Windows machine at work. My other co-workers have nine.

Also, I noticed, in Creative Cloud Desktop, in applications, it is said to know but is not.

I did the following troubleshooting steps:

    • Update via help on the application itself
    • Tried to update using creative cloud desktop
    • Uninstall/reinstall creative Cloud Desktop
    • Uninstall all CC ran Adobe CC cleaning tool, rebooted the machine and reinstalled Adobe CC

I always get the same results.

    Any solution to this?

I managed to solve it. Update manually.

To apply this update, you must have Windows Home Server Power Pack 2 installed. If you have a beta version or a release candidate of Windows Home Server Power Pack 3 is installed, you must uninstall these preliminary versions before you install this release of Windows Home Server Power Pack 3.

  • Non-native install copy of Windows Home Server

Hi, I was hoping that someone could erase something for me.

I have an OEM of Windows Home Server 2011 version that I bought in England, when he arrived in the post that I realized that it is a German copy, probably why it was so cheap.

I'm not really bothered about it, if I can just change the language during or even after the installation. My question is this a problem or problem further down the line or the whole operating system will be identical to a UK copy if I change the language and regional settings?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd rather not go back if I can't.

  • G460: unable to copy files from Windows Home Server

Hi, I just a G460 for my children. The problem is that it does not copy the files on my Windows Home Server. I tried wired and wireless access to my network, but there is no difference. -I can browse the files on my server very well - I can create short text on my server files (IE. I have write access) - OS Win 7 x 64 on laptop - disabled Avast, no difference - other PC (XP, Vista, Win7) can copy the same file easily - reproducible with other files (test file executable is 500 MB and 400 M movie file)-laptop connects to the internet download fine, of a file of 500 M finish at reasonable speeds - copy start , stalls and then she complains about the network connection disappeared. A simultaneous ping to the server shows that it is not correct. The connection never drops. This is reproducible with 100bT wired and Wireless-N. Don't know what there is to say about it. It seems that there is a configuration problem somewhere I hope it can be fixed because otherwise this laptop is going to come back. Thanks, Sander PS the paint job on these laptops is terrible. Gloss black? All - ALL - print digital watch. The laptop has 2 minutes old and already he looked mean. Not the best choice Lenovo. My old T61 seems better

I uninstalled K9 web protection and now things work again. Very very slow for an adapter n, but at least it ends. I notified K9 on the problem.

  • Activate Windows 7 on a virtual machine on my Windows Home Server machine using my product key. I no longer use the complete installation. Am I in Windows license terms?

I did virtualization p2v Windows Home Server 1 on an external drive using VMWare. I no longer use the physical instalation. The virtual machine has asked for activation on my laptop Windows 7 and worked well online. I'm in the terms of the Windows license?

Please note that Windows Home Server is an OEM product which means, it is not intended to be transferred from one computer to another.

  • Windows Home Server 2011 complete system restore problem = cannot start the LAN adapter

    Home built PC

    Card mother Gigabyte GA-Z77MX-D3H

Network adapter Atheros AR8151 PCI-E on the map connected to the LAN Cat6

    Windows Pro 10

Windows Home Server 2011 on LAN

I had a hard drive failure partial who gave no symptoms or errors except a VERY slow start-up and operation.  I tried to do a restore of the entire system of my Home Server 2011 backups to see if, perhaps, just the image was corrupt.  USB was created and all drivers copied from pilots for the full system restore folder.  Has started the full restoration of the system and loaded the missing NETWORK adapter driver by using the scanner for drivers.  Driver support was successful but no lights NIC and the message "cannot find server".  NETWORK card was working fine before, even with the bad hard drive and also after the abandonment of the restoration.  Installed the new drive hard C:-System and that was the main problem, BUT..., the later to restore attempt was always the NIC starts not problem.  Tried the driver directly at Gigabyte support and drivers drivers for the full restoration of the system of records from several different backups.  No love.  Just NIC does not start after the specified load successful pilot.

    All good advice?

  • Cannot partition on Windows Home Server

    The problem:
We are currently the main C drive partitioned 20 GB and we cannot repartition try with several different partition tools.  The error via a tool, it's "the volume you have selected cannot be extended.  Other tools to give similar messages.  The hard drive is 250 GB RAID 1 mirror.

    What we tried:

A suggestion according to the https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/841650 does not include the home server edition so can't take the risk that she clearly serve States own risk.  We tried Acronis partition software, G-Parted, diskpart.exe command BACK and Macrorit http://macrorit.com/partition-magic-manager/server-diskpart-fails-to-extend-system-partition.html

    Other suspicious Info:

    1. System Properties window says that the operating system is 'Windows Home Server'.

2 window Information System indicates that the operating system is 'Windows 2003 Small Business Server. "

The person who owns that server call purchase Home Server edition.  Not sure if this is related or not, but it's conflicting information to find a solution.

Bottom line, even if that server is outdated and not fully supported any longer, we hope to keep alive a little more long if possible if we simply repartition C drive and increase the free space.  Other than replacing the server suggestions are appreciated because they are not willing to spend the money to replace the entire server.

  • Installation failure of OEM Windows Home Server 2011 - network continually devices do not found/installed

Tried to install OEM Windows Home Server 2011 integrated custom server with ASUS M489GTD Pro Mobo and AMD Phenom IIx6 1055 t processor. Installation (3 attempts) would not end when network devices do not have to be found. Having read a number of user group locations and found amount of siginficant discussion on similar type problems. Searched and copied device USB and NIC brand drivers but the installation of WHS 2011 has been unsuccessful. Have since with success installed Windows 8 Preview of consumer on the server by using 'Device Manager' to find installed drivers located in appropriate files and C: / drive. Question: a plan 'best case' would try to do a new installation install WHS 2011 on my server or to an 'upgrade' type which may keep the driver folders/files? Thank you

  • Windows Home Server help please with the reader.

I have a Windows Home server in my office that has a single hard drive in it.  I continue to be told to use the repair utility when I turn on my computer.  I bought a new drive for the server.  Now that I need help, it's how to duplicate the new disc of the former, is there a way to do it, or do I have to copy all the content on another machine on the network, and then install the operating system from the beginning.  I want to avoid the loss of data.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

There are essentially two options available

Place the new drive as the primary drive and keep the original as a secondary disk. Install WHS as a repair install and it should pick up original and index folders and re-create the tombstones for them. Then use the move to folder option in the console to make the folders shared the second partition of the disk. However, the indexing process is quite intensive and is perhaps not ideal with a line of demarcation for lack of drive.

Alternative, remove the old drive and install the new, install WHS as a new facility that will create partitions C and D, including the new shared folders empty. Once the installation is finished, put the old one in as second drive or if this is not possible an external drive dock and then copy the contents of the old drive in the new. That would be my preferred option because it is perhaps easier and safer.

There is no option to save and copy and settings users, even with a repair installation, you must manually recreate the users.

  • How can I have my client Win8 continue to be supported by Windows Home Server v1?

I've updated from Windows 7 to Windows 8, and now my Windows Home Server v1 cannot back up my laptop. The connector software complains about volume errors and complains about the ESM may not take a snapshot of the customer volume. Help, please!

None of the two versions of Windows Home Server can back up systems of Windows 8. The first version of WHS is no longer supported and probably will not be updated to add this support.  Windows Home Server 2011 can be updated, the last word of Microsoft on this subject was "Stay Tuned!"
