Mystery of automatic prioritization

so I have a question about a feature called Auto tiering on a device of Compellent storage use cases in our special offer and I hope someone has some experience or can give me a kick in the right direction.

I work for a company developing software with an i would say medium virtualized infrastructure. We welcome approximately 420 VM´s, 90% of them, we need for the process of software development. If the developers run compile / build jobs etc on them. The workload, we see is very asymmetric, because these jobs Don t run on each virtual machine on every time. Some vm´s have charge only 1 time a week about two times and so on. But if they have no charge, it's e/s very heavy. There are a lot of (in thousands) of small files that will read the compilers and after compiling objects will also be written to disk. In outbreak scenarios we see around 20 k - 30 k IOPS / sec with a 60%: 40%, sometimes 50%: 50% read/write distribution.

At present, we have an infrastructure of netapp storage with CF on a Cluster HA FAS3140 (15KSAS all disks). The infrastructure is about 4 years old and we need to change. We have problems performance wise and also wise ability. We now have a HDS as a competitor to a refreshed Netapp infrastructure. In the presentation, DELL showed us a feature called Auto tiering which made me very suspicious. In their example, they had 3 levels with T1 with SSD´s, with disks SAS 10 K and T2 T3 with SATA drives high capacity. I have big problems that this feature is contraproductive in the scenario of the workload, we have. For example, if a virtual machine is on T1, performance will be fine, now will not serve the VM, let´s say for a week (which is quite common in the development process). Because of this she will come down to T3 on the SATA drives and the next time the build job runs, everything will be read among the slow readers and Performance could be worse than now.

Anyone has experience with it in the real world, thoughts, etc.? Everything will be highly appreciated.

Trying to answer from my phone the last time, was probably not a good idea for such a long message. I hope that this message will help clarify things a bit more for you, but if not please feel free to ask additional questions.

You are right, in Progression of data is not a real time process and runs on a schedule. Scheduling frequency for progress data is not something that you can adjust. Almost 6 years that I worked with the product, it was always once every 24 hours. The only setup option you had was time of day has started, but the default is always to 19:00. I've heard rumors that the frequency has been adjusted for a year or to take account of the SSD configurations, but that only she set to be once every 24 hours to be something more like once every 4 hours. Yet once, there no options to adjust progress data to run only once every week or every month.

Storage profiles can be custom created once you replace the "manual mode". Otherwise, you have access to established, unchangeable system 4, profiles, you can freely assign the volumes. To be honest 4 created storage profiles must cover more than 99% of all use cases. The default profile is called "Recommended (all levels)" and is what uses almost every created volume. Because the storage profile offers you the possibility of storing writable data differently than to re-read the data, you can configure the system to force writes to RAID 10 on a layer, but store the replays at RAID 5/6 on the same level. This may not seem like much, but what you get is the additional disk space to store your data, rather that just by using RAID 10 without taking any show major strike on the Scriptures or the readings. If after that the reading is taken from a page is modified by a server, a new page is created, and the plan of the active volume is updated to reference the new page instead of the old. The key here is that the new page is rewritten in the RAID 10 system and nothing should be done to the old. Within the system, Compellent, there are 3 types of pages:

Active - these pages are writable
Accessible history - these pages are read only, but still referenced by an active volume
Inaccessible history - these pages are read only and only referenced by a replay (no active volume cannot access)

If you understand and loved your Netapp systems, then you'll probably actually history of operation of Tegile. However, I fully understand the criticality of the good support and what a challenge it can be when you're not in the same part of the world as a provider. Okay, so what now?

I was with my iPad to take shots (my first mistake). Due to the number of falls that I ran out of memory and it stopped everything - now I do not know how to remove the iPad videos and placed them on my MacBook.

I guess I should buy some type of camcorder.

In any case - if there is a simple way to transfer files from an iPad to a Macbook (for example a directory) then let me know. I'd appreciate it really.

I suggest that you leave the point of view of directory at the door when you work with an iPad and a Mac. Apple devices tend to use directories to answer the question 'how', something is done. But the "how" may change from time to time.

However, if you focus on 'what' to do (for example, move pictures to the iPad for the Mac), you'll realize the functions (applications) on both ends that manipulate your data.

On the end of the iPad, this app is Photos. And on the side of Mac, that request is probably too Photos - assuming that your Mac operating system is up-to-date.

Mystery on 1606dn supported sizes of paper for automatic duplex printing

I'm trying to find out if the 1606dn supports automatic duplex copy legal paper size, but the info is not in the user's manual, which just refers to "that the driver supports. Of course, I cannot and will not install the driver if I do not have the printer, so it's kind of impossible for me to check what paper sizes the driver supports.

In any case, someone has this information, or is it a secret or something?

Satellite M70 starts automatically on?

Hello: my toshiba automatically goes in and therefore the output of the hibernation mode. I already checked the configuration settings, but the option "automatically turned on when the network is detected" is disabled. Does anyone have an idea? It happened this morning. I hibernated my laptop last night and this morning at 09:00 automatically running and recovery of windows.

I think on the operating system preinstalled, you find more options that could to automatically resume from hibernation.
On my laptop, I have the option of Wake-up on LAN. This also, you should find the HWSetup Toshiba. I think you should turn it off.

In my opinion, you should also check the scheduled tasks in Control Panel. A task that runs automatically could also provide the specifications of hibernation.

One of my Office of mysteriously missing folder? !!

A folder that I had on my desk (with a number of photoshop and jpg files), has apparently disappeared in the air!

(SOMEONE ELSE HAD FOLDERS DISAPPEAR ON THEM BEFORE?!)

I tried to search the names of missing files via the Finder and Spotlight, but nothing came on my missing files. I did not remove this file.

I tried to use some free trial called iSkysoft Date of recovery program, but it will leave you not even get anything, unless you pay a heavy tax. And even then, there was a lot of content to sift through (it was not the name of the original file), so I don't even know if it was there.

It's very frustrating. I just bought the Mac OS X El Capitan a month ago. I work as an artist, and I CAN NOT have just record mysteriously disappear on me.

I am trying to familiarize myself with other useful programs, no iCloud help things back up automatically. (I've not used before).

Also, can someone suggest a perhaps different data recovery program?

OS X does not magically records and data, I suspect a user has made a mistake. Open the Recycle Bin to see if the folder and its contents is there. If they are then right-click and select set back and continue your work. If they are missing use your Time Machine backup to restore the folder. If you do not back up the computer and the data are not in the trash she is lost and cannot be recovered. That's why TM exists to avoid any data loss. If you do not use it please get an external HD to start to back up your system. Touchpad does not work and Equium automatically restarts after a stop

Something going wrong drasticaly yesterday. I wasn't doing anything elaborate, just work excel and I'm tired of the Tablet touch and 'connected' one infrared I smile sometimes use... it did not work too well, low battery level, I guess, so I returned to the touch pad... but the touchpad was now for some reason, doesn't work do not at all and did not since...

Turning off the laptop and was my solution, but he has not corrected the situation... the infra-red mouse works very well but with new batteries... on top of that, now when I turn the laptop off, it stops but then automatically starts once again, when a microsoft message appears saying that the computer has recovered from a serious error.

So since this episode, the touch pad does not work and the computer will stay off! And maybe it's me crazy, but some of the keys on the keyboard are more sensitive as they once were.

It was a satellite, and bought only in early January.

Sound very mysteriously. However, as in the first answer mentioned the function FN + F9 turn off and turn on the touchpad.
I also recommend to check the Device Manager if all devices are working properly.
If you find any errors, but the problem persists then the step of text should be the reinstallation of the operating system. In this case, please use the recovery CD.

If the recovery procedure will not solve the problem, I guess there must be something wrong with the hardware and the ASP help is needed. Guys could start diagnostic tests and can locate the fault.

7310 all-in-One: automatic duplex printing is returned to manual

I have a printer all-in-One of 7310. I used to be able to print duplex automatically copies but this option no longer appears in the Properties dialog box. Instead, I don't have the manual option on the finish tab. How can I return the Auto function?

I followed your instructions and it worked perfectly. The word "manually" has been deleted from the finishing tab, so that was a clue that a change has been made. I had to restart the computer for the change to take effect.

Automatic update problems.

Hi people. Something fishy seems to happen with my computer. I seem to have a mystery on my hard drive partition. You see, my hard drive must have ONLY ONE PARTITION, C drive. And that's what shows. However, during boot on the Windows XP installation disk, I discovered a second 31 MB partition which does not appear in my computer. Automatic update also fails to deliver the most recent Microsoft Updates for me and same Windows SteadyState does not install any update, even though it says it's. Several months ago this computer had a bot and 37 Trojans, viruses and spyware. I reinstalled to get rid of the bot. tell me, is what is happening here normal, or should I worry? Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows. Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) will NOT fix it!

I work with a RAC (oracle 11.2.0.3 database) under Red Hat 5.3

yesterday, the server where the database is, mysteriously restarted. But the database does not start automatically, I had to do a manual "startup mount standby database.
There is a setting so that it starts automatically with the mode "startup mount standby database?

I was looking in google but only found scripts that modify the /etc/init.d/dbora or etc/init.d/.dbora.swap, but I guess that this oracle will have a parameter or something to do by itself, I'm wrong?

When clusterware start the resource (the oraagent.) is not a su (switch user) to the user corresponding environment (since this could introduce other errors).
Therefore, no profile (eg..) bash_profile) haven't is run and therefore not active.

To pass environment variables required for the database, set the environment in the cluster registry (srvctl setenv).

However, it is one of the reasons why I am personally not a big fan of TNS_ADMIN.

Now all multitrack clips/files screen automatically start time if the limits are adjusted - WHY?

I'm in the Middle fo a large multitrack session with about 40 different titles and now if I try to set the limits of a clip - any clip, it starts in time stretching automatically - even when the clip not configured if as being closed! Is there a setting that causes this? Can it be fixed or is it just another AA3.0 bug? Help! -This session has become extremely diificult especially if I adjust a clip limit and this clip starts some knid of mysterious temporal self-generated.

Automatic logoff on sleep? How?

I wonder if someone could help me please?

I need a way to verify that my browser (in this case Chrome) is closed when I put my Mac to sleep, or he sleeps auto. This past weekend, I noticed that my Messages app acted strangely on my iPhone 6. Accordingly, I turned and turn it on again and noticed that all of my posts have disappeared. I then did a hard reset and turned on - still no messages.

I have my settings to keep my messages forever, what really saddened me to see all of my messages disappeared. In any case, I'm about to restore my backup iPhone on a new phone (6 s). Luckily, I backed up my phone the week last before my messages disappearing.

I understand that when I restore a backup, everything that happened on my phone since will not appear. However, I have also the Messages on my MacBook Air app, when kept all my messages before and after the mysterious disappearance on my phone. Once I have perform this restore, I was wondering if it is possible to synchronize in any post-restore on my laptop to my phone messages.

If these are the iMessages, your new device needs to load the entire conversation once you send or receive an iMessage from the recipient.
