Nag boring to install Java

I upgraded to Sierra last night.  Now I get a persistent nag to install Java runtime.  I don't want to install it.  How can I get rid of the nag?

Determine the program that you use that requires Java. I suggest reviewing your login items, perhaps.

  • 28.0 Firefox indicates that my installed Java SE 7 U51 is vulnerable (2014 03 20)

When I use: 'tools-> Add-ons-> Plugins' and select "Check to see if the plugins are up to date", Firefox 28.0 (said currently the last updated version) means that the detected Java version (currently Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U51) 'Vulnérable' is and suggests an update.

The Java Web site indicates that Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U51 is the latest version. Download and re-installing Java and do a reboot system does not change the behavior of Firefox, it continues to mark the
Java version as requiring an update.

Is there a vulnerability recently discovered in Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U51 or Firefox is just having a good time watching me try to argue a problem?

Java 8 comes out; could it be the problem?

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/Java/JavaSE/Overview/index.html

The design of the site check plugin (the last time I checked) don't accommodate several "current" versions So if the site has been updated to recognize Java 8 as current, it could lead to a lot of confusion.

Assuming that the Plugins addons page section has not disabled Platform SE 7 U51 (based on the block file that Firefox downloads regularly), then I think it's probably still good.

(I actually U45 on this computer, oops, so I can't test the response to U51 right now.)

    Hello

Try checking your version of plugins:

I don't see Java installed on your computer also.
    Where's the installer?

    Also:
Try going to Subject: config search plugin.state.java and change its truevalue, too, go to Tools > > Addons > > Plugins and look for Java and change his option still active or have active

  • It not install Java!

I downloaded the latest version of Java (8 v71) but it won't install. I open the file and enter the InstallWizard, however, when it opens, a loading turns wheel a little and then loading the next page (it seems to mention something about 3 million users?) then closes... I guess it hangs. I downloaded and tried to do so many times, I have tried via a different user account and it will not be installed.

I need Java to access the Australian business register, so just "not with the help of this" is NOT an option.

I maintenance my Mac all the time, keep the office and the empty Recycle Bin, run first aid in time and turn at least once a day... I can't figure a work around.

    Thanks for any help.

    (2) remember to make changes to the computer before the question?
    (3) where exactly you are trying to install?

Try the steps mentioned below and see if it helps.

Step 1: Try to install java using administrator rights.
If the program you are trying to install or run says you have to have administrator rights, but you are already an administrator on the computer, right click the icon to install the program, and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
If the program installs, but does not, right click on the program icon, click Properties, click the Compatibility tab, select run this program as an administrator checkbox and then try to run the program.
    Step 2:

    Hello

Install Java in the clean boot and see if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: Follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

First of all, I have not installed it, second, when I hit Yes a window appears and says that the action is not possible of something that is not installed. So says java is installed and windows tells me that it is not. Someone help me please! I tried this for almost a week now, I'm going nuts!

    Hi Tonya,
After researching this issue, we have found a response., but it does not enter into your registry and delete some entries. Let me say that I advise rarely enter the registry, do nothing in there other than what is stated below, it can really blow your system!
OK, the problem seems to be that basically even if Java is not installed, there are entries in the registry. Follow these steps:
    1. click on start, go in run and type Regedit which should open your registry database.
There are two entrances, we are looking for...
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java runtime environment
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\wow6432node\JavaSoft\Java runtime environment
2 remove both entries and then click file, and then exit.
    3. reboot the system
    4. install Java

    Hope that helps,
    Eddie B.
