name of the channel

Hello

I didn't go near DIAdem for awhile and now sit here confused on something that is probably pretty simple.

In the part of my script, I want him to go through all my ways and greate another group bearing the name of the original channel... so I'll go through and perform more advanced in each group analysis. The part that is the source of the problems is to create groups in the first place.

I have something like this:

Dim x

for x = 2 to GroupChnCount (1)

Call GroupDefaultSet (1)
nameofgroup = ChnNameGet (x)
Call GroupCreate (nameofgroup, x)
next

Yet, all I get is "Variable is undefined: «ChnNameGet»»

What I am doing wrong?

Thank you!

Hello Tom!

The error message is correct! There is no command ChnNameGet in tiara. You can use ChnName (CNoXGet(1, x)) to get what you want.

  • Difference between the name of the channel & Pulse Terminal (NI USB-6212)

    I have a box OR USB - 6212 & on the pinout data sheet, it is said that the FREQ OUT default PIN is 40 & the signal name is PFI14.

    I am trying to generate a pulse by FREQ OUT in c# & DAQmx by calling channel name "dev2/freqout". When I ran the program & attempted to verify the measurement using a multimeter, I don't have a reading of the PFI 14, but 6 PFI. When I tried to set the name of the channel for "Dev2/freqout", the pulse filled Terminal automatically textboox with control unit using the test panels & "/ Dev2/PFI6. When I started the program, I got multimeter reading out of the Terminal impulse.

    Can someone please explain to me about this behavior?

    Also if I want to write a program to read the pulses generated by FREQ OUT, should I wire PFI 14 to some CBC CTR or PFI6 to CTR CBC?

    No explanations and answers are very aprpeciated.

    Hi Kasrus,

    Thank you for that bring to our attention. I will study this question that you may have found an error in our documentation. My recommendation would be to use the PIN that works for you.

    Thanks again for us help to continuously improve!

  • Clear explanation of the name of the channel on IVI Drivers

    Hello

    I'm using Labview 8.0 assessment to write a program which will include a 35 - 5 p Xantrex XDL DC Power Supply to automate a test. It has only one exit.

    I installed the drivers XDL and IVI Compliance Package. However, I'm still struggling with the name of 'channel' on the IVI Drivers.

    Can someone please clearly explain to me what is the name of the channel, why do I need and what I need to put my name to the channel to get my program to work?

    Thank you!

    Yes, I've read this discussion, but it does exactly what a channel name was, as I had an output "channel".

    I went back to my program just to give it a shot, I typed in the name of the channel in a digital 1 and it worked.

    I still don't know what it is, but at least it will communicate now.

  • How can I get the name of the channel scale?

    Hello.

    I am trying to adjust a scale for a channel programmatically in a task. Attached is an excerpt of what I'm trying to do. I am unable to find the name of scale associated with the channel. Ideally when I "ChanType" I'd scale name and move to the scale property node and create the VI of scale.

    Thanks a bunch.

    (I just noticed the error line not be connected at the beginning.) Has been corrected, but I did not bother to repost.)

    Never mind.

    Once I simulated the device on my machine, the appropriate properties became available. It's all good.

  • How to create a script for the name of the channel to take and insert text on profile in CS5

    I am a silkscreen and I print my Photoshop starts. I regularly work with multi channel files or RGB files with additional color channels. I created actions to place check marks, resize images, etc. to be ready to print manually but I create for each display text labels, if they are absent from the original work.

    The files I work with have named pipes as "basic white, red, green, blue 284" etc. which indicates the color of the ink. I want to be able to do is create a script that copies the text of the channel name and insert it into a separate or each/all channels to the top of the file, so that when I print every positive there is a label corresponding to the color of the ink.

    I don't know if this is even possible, and I am limited in my knowledge when it comes stock and no experience with scripting and have had pretty good luck in the past for actions to do what I want without unnecessary steps.

    On my target action registration, it creates a new channel with each individual reg mark then combined in a separate channel in which I just copy the contents and select all channels of ink and fill with black to make them appear, I am happy with the steps that must be that it is not too complicated and if it could do the same with labels I would be happy with that.

    Thanks in advance!

    Something like that?

    // the color used for the text
    var black = new SolidColor();
    black.rgb.hexValue = '000000';
    // set this to space the labels
    var horizontalOffest = new UnitValue(20,'pt');
    var doc = app.activeDocument;
    var currentLayer = doc.activeLayer;
    var textLayer = doc.artLayers.add();
    textLayer.kind = LayerKind.TEXT;
    // font requires the postscript name of the font
    textLayer.font = "ArialMT";
    textLayer.textItem.size = new UnitValue(9,'pt');
    textLayer.textItem.justification = Justification.RIGHT;
    // set the position for the text. this sets to top right corner of the channel
    // here it is set so the text baseline ends 40pts from the right edge, 15pts down
    textLayer.textItem.position = [new UnitValue(doc.width.as('pt')-50,'pt'),new UnitValue(15,'pt')];
    textLayer.textItem.contents = 'label';// temp label string

  • Unknown channel or name of the repeated feature - settings MAX IVI

    Hi all

    I have problems with the creation of a pilot application based on IVI. I use Agilent N6700B PowerSupply simply configure and output voltage via GPIB with LV2009 (and Win7). The main issue is with the name of the 'channel' I need to specify in the application. Could someone please confirm ChannelName should I use and if the MAX settings are correct? I have attached all necessary files.

    When I run my application I get following "IviDCPwr IVI Converter.vi error error message

    The primary error: unknown channel (Hex 0xBFFA0020) or
    name of the feature repeated.

    Complete calling chain:      IVI IviDCPwr
    Error Converter.vi IviDCPwr
    Configure the output Range.vi GPIB.vi"

    Any help is very appreciated

    Kind regards

    PK

    Hi, PKI,

    The correct physical name for the channel is '1' and it was filled for you by the driver under the advanced > Instrument Driver Software Module (see MAX1.jpg). You can name your virtual channel name well you want under the pilot Sessions > section virtual names, but the physical name must always be 1 as specified in the driver (MAX2.jpg). In your application, make sure that you use exactly the same name for the virtual channel as recorded in MAX.

  • Best way to pass the name of the e/s DAQmx channel Veristand 2011 Custom Device?

    I'm building a custom device that will run a DAQmx task on the target of RT.

    I use VS2011 and alsoSimple custom device tool, which, at this point I'm not sure if it can work under VS2011...

    I created the fine libraries and custom device (a PWM input called InputPWM) has added to the Explorer from the system.  Running it returns the following error when I deploy:

    -----------

    LabVIEW: Type VI reference is not part of connector of VI.
    =========================
    NEITHER VeriStand: Open VI reference in Custom Devices Storage.lvlib-> pen device reference (Interface HW) .vi-> Custom Devices Storage.lvlib:Initialize Device (Interface HW) .vi OR VeriStand Engine.lvlib:Initialize Inline Custom Devices.vi-> NI VeriStand Engine.lvlib:VeriStand Machine.vi engine-> Engine.vi NI VeriStand Engine.lvlib:VeriStand-> NI VeriStand Engine.lvlib:VeriStand .vi engine Wrapper (RT)
    c:\NI-rt\VeriStand\Custom Devices\InputPWM\InputPWM Engine.llb\InputPWM RT pilot VI.vi

    ----------------------

    On the console, it says that the error is 1026, LabVIEW: Refernece VI is not valid.

    I suspect that a potential problem is that I used a DAQmx e/s in the Configuration.ctl and the InputPWM RT pilot VI.vi in the framework can not deal with this type. So my questions:

    -What is the easiest way to pass the names of e/s to the custom device? For a quick test, I could go to hard code, but a more generic solution would also. Should be based on the address for the e/s MAX? Do I have to create the ctr under the DAQ hardware in VS?

    - or said by the way, is there a way to review these screw frame to see where the questions is, as you would with LV - RT?

    THX.

    L.

    If you use the tool of easy custom device, just put everything you need inside the cluster configuration data and these data will be in the home page of the custom (for the user to set) device and be available at runtime in the RT device custom code.

    You could have them type the name of the DAQ card and have an array of names for the channels to use. You then create the task running. or something like that. You like.

  • Calculations using values in the channels

    Is there a way to make simple calculations (addition/subtraction) of single values selected channels?   New user DIAdem, so I'm not at all familiar with the scripts.  Looks like it should be a simple command, and I'm right on it.

    Thank you

    Shannon

    Hello Shannon,.

    It seems to me that you do not want to add two or more 'cells' (to use the jargon of Excel) together.

    DIAdem manages data such as channels, not individual cells. If the approach to add two cells in DIAdem works like this:

    The variable SMC allows you to access a 'cell' in a channel, using the following sequence parameters:

    ChD (X, Y)

    where X is the line number of the table of channel, and Y is the name of the channel (column) or the number of the cell you want to access.

    For example, this expression here calculates the result of adding the value of line 2 of the channel called "Temperature_1" and the channel called "Temperature_2" of the example data set that takes over at the start of tiara. In this case, R1 is a real internal DIAdem variable that stores a single value.

    R1 = SEC (2, Ch("[4]/Temperature_1")) + SMC (2, Ch("[4]/Temperature_2"))

    The calculation above can be entered in the "Calculator" which is available in MODE of DIAdem and DIAdem analysis in the toolbar.

    I hope it's useful, please let us know if you have additional questions.

  • name of the file in the legend

    Hello.

    A fundamental issue, but several tests and none worked...

    So in the caption I want to just display the name of the file without the channel as in "name of the channel (file name). I tried a free text with ' @@ChnFileName (CurrChnNo) @ "but it has not worked out.

    How cn do this?

    Best regards
    Brice

    Hi Brice,.

    You have the right idea, but you must use the channel property is "SourceDataFileName", and you must use the function ChnPropGet() or ChnPropVaGet() or the Data.GetChannel (NCC) again. Approach to the properties available in DIAdem 11.0 and later versions:

    @@ChnPropGet (NCC, "sourcedatafilename").

  • Course of the channels is really slow in CC

    I work on .net application and ran into an obstacle few performance. I have a simple method that runs through the layers of channel by index, captures the name of the channel that is indexed and if it corresponds to a predetermined variable, then it simple removes this channel. It works as written but is painfully SLOW. Being relatively new to programming, I thought it was just me and open ExtendScript to run a few test.

    var docChannels = app.activeDocument.channels;

    for (i = 0; i < docChannels.length; i++ ){
            alert(docChannels[i].name);
    }

    To run this script in a document containing only the RGB channels plus 3 other alpha channels takes about 30-40 seconds. Running the same script modified to browse about 20 layers of document only takes about 5 seconds.

    I don't know if it is a bug in Photoshop CC or not. I have not all versions prior to test. I can perform the programming method using a Try Catch statement and directly trying to delete the layer by name. This seems to work a little faster, but not by much and isn't really a good use of a Try Catch statement.

    Any insight into this problem or a better way to impliment as my method of programming would be more appreciated.

    I don't know about .net applications, but I think that the reason the javascript object Model can be slow when working with layers and layers it whenever you create an object layer, or channel all the properties of this object created. I think that the property of the histogram of construction is the main reason to slow down. It is that the document has a large canvas.

    Action eating can be much faster because you can only get the property you require and do not create a DOM object and build the histogram. Try this to see if the names of channel more quickly.

  • Trace channels by name without the help of a script.

    Hello

    I'm looking to draw channels, by using a report model, without having to rely on the index of each channel. I am processing the data from different sources and although they have the same marking convention for certain types of channels, some sources generate unique channels that can shake the index, and I have to manually put the parcels on the right channels.

    Is there a way around this without the use of scripts?

    Thanks for any help.

    Kevin

    I think that you can configure your report models as they reference channels by name, as opposed to the number.

    I have not used but check it out

    Or try this

    On the report tab, go to settings > Layout Set Up > layout settings and I believe that you change the channel reference it as well

  • Photoshop CS6 using javaScript to truncate the name of the alpha channel

    Hello

    I am a production artist and I work with PSD files created in Adobe Scene7's Image Authoring Tool. These PSD files contain a background as well as the alpha 1-20 layers layer. My script should make a new empty layer for each alpha channel in the document. He then fills the new grey layer. So far, my code accomplishes this mission. However, I would like to apply the alpha channel of the layer name, but I need the name will be truncated. Each alpha channel begins with one or more characters, followed by a bar backslash and then ends with one or more characters. Here is an example:

    An alpha channel can be named: Floor\floor

    In this example, I need my name of layer to be fair: floor. This means that all characters to the left of the backslash, including the backslash itself needs to be scrapped. I used the subSring() for this statement. When I try to step through the code line by line in ExtendScript, I immediately get an error that says no complete string constant and line 31 of my code is highlighted. I think that he doesn't like the way I wrote the backslash character, although I have it surrounded by double quotes to define it as a string.

    Can someone tell me why I get this error?
