• Print file stuck in the coil, the message "unable to copy the name of the file: it is used by another person or program".

  Recently, I tried to capture a job by a break of a print queue, print work and copy the files from the spool (under C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS) before unpausing the queue. However, when I try to copy the files, I get the error message "unable to copy the name of the file: it is used by another person or program". I tried several times with the same result. The only way to get the file off the ground is obviously t reactivate the print queue and they will quickly deteleted shortly after. Is there a way I can recover these files? Assume the change the port in 'File' to make a copy of file is on the table. I ran this in the title of administrator user rights.

  The file you are trying to "capture" you will do some good.  However, if you want to watch or copy it, first stop the print spooler.  Open the Services applet (start > run > services.msc > OK).  Scroll down to "Print spooler" and click "Stop".  Don't forget to restart the print spooler after you copy the file or you will not be able to print.

  

  If you want to print to a file rather than on paper, there are at least three ways to do it (not counting "Print to a file").

  Using the "Print to file" box will produce a *.prn file.  It contains commands specific to the printer; It cannot be opened by the usual word processor applications; It can be used to print to the printer selected in the print dialog box or printer that uses the same commands to the printer.  For example, you have a printer installed on 1 computer but you have physically moved the printer to computer 2, where it is now installed.  You can check the "Print to file" on the computer 1, save the file to a flash drive *.prn, carry it to computer 2 and then print it out by copying the file to the printer (in a command prompt window).

  1. the best way, IMO, is to print to a PDF using free CutePDF Writer.

  2. you can create a "generic, only the text" printer and select this option when you print.  This produces a *.txt file.  To install the generic/text printer only, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button, point to settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Double-click the add printer icon.
  3. Click the next button.
  4. When you are prompted "How is this printer attached to your computer? Click the local printer option button, and then click Next.
  5. In the manufacturers box, click Generic. In the Printers box, click generic/text only, and then click Next.
  6. In the available Ports box, click FILE, and then click Next.
  7. When you are prompted "do you want that your Windows-based programs to use this printer as the default printer?" click the no option button, and then click Next.
  8. When you are guests "would you like to print a test page?" click the no option button, and then click the Finish button.

  3. use the Microsoft XPS Document Writer, which may already be installed on your computer.  "XPS" was Microsoft's attempt to compete with Adobe PDF.  He did not.  Unfortunately, the only way to view a document produced by the XPS Document Writer is using the Microsoft XPS Viewer.

  Hi, I was looking for a way to copy the name of the active layer in the Windows Clipboard, I hope this a quick solution. What I managed to do up to now, it is to open the Layer Properties dialog box, and then press 'CTRL + C' to copy the layer name (because the name of the layer is already highlighted at this stage), and then it correctly copy the name of the layer in the Windows Clipboard.

  But I found that when the system is under load, the Layer Properties dialog box is sometimes slow to open, and despite this, it seems that it is an additional step that could be eliminated.

  I searched through keyboard shortcuts and also in all the menus layer for a keyboard shortcut for just 'copy layer to the Clipboard name' but cannot find anything.

  Anyone know if there is a quick shortcut to do this or maybe a quick script that will copy just the name of the layer?

  Bingo! Thank you Philippe/csuebele/pixxxel, it's the "clip.exe" that was the problem for me. I pasted in system32 and now it works. It's awesome - now I am able to view a tool tip with the name of the layer, whenever I change the layers (with the help of my other app left 3rd) - this is especially useful when working in mode full screen when you don't see the palette layers. It will update your tool tip with the name of the layer whenever you use keyboard shortcuts to select the different layers.

  If someone thinks they would find useful, I had me more than happy to share it... but it's using a different script software, so I may or may not be able to talk about it here. Shoot me a private message if I can't talk about it here and you would like it to be.

  I have a requirement to be able to create a database procedure that references the same db tables different names of links (i.e. a generic procedure). The procedure would be passed as parameter the name of the db link and then later in the code in the block table is queried by using the provided parameter of dblink name. I'm working on the best way to achieve this and I was wondering if anyone else has had to do the same? I'm open to suggestions here.
  Here is an example of pseudo code:

• in the export file name changes loses link catalog

  I'm a newbie LR3 (or any version of LR also). Been using CS4 and CS5 now for a little over a year

  & became comfortable with 5 Raw and Raw 6 now.

  I have the wierdest thing happen when I 'import' my photos in LR3 (no matter if it is a card or an external hard drive). I have created a preset in the section file to change the name of the file to import handling. So instead of the file DSC_0001.jpg, the preset I replace it (then), Mikes_photos_20100725_DSC_0001.jpg. Export works very well, everything is great. I even let LR running (and tried to restart the computer or the program), but when I get back later, the catalog cannot find pictures (image of low resolution cat., but not on the picture). I said that it cannot find "DSC_0001.jpg. It's right there in the folder it is looking, but the new name - given the file by LR3 when importing is no longer the short name but the most recent long name. When I click on the new name, he said something like, "make sure that you want to link this since both names are not the same?

  Does anyone else have this problem or can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong?

  I just reproduced the error rename you described (and mentioned in the thread I linked above): when you have backups to import enabled and a file with the same name already exists in the backup location, rename it on import will fail and leave a broken link between the catalog and the file.

• Script to rename the names of information link

  I'm working on the conversion of a catalogue of old customers from Quark to Indesign.  I use Indesign CS4 on Windows Vista. I used Markzware Q2ID to convert indesign catalog with too many problems.  But I ran into a big problems with the images.  They will be automatically re-issued.  After digging around, I found the problem.  For some reason any all Image names also include the path structure.

  I know it is a very simple problem, but it's my first real attempt to script something in Adobe.  Anyone have any good ideas or tips on how I could do this?

  The conversion program totally corrupt links in your document: myLink.filePath is just empty string, myLink.name, this is what should have been myLink.filePath (this is info from ESTK).

  Here is a new version of the script - it rebuilt to the files located in the folder NewLinks on the desktop. Change this line

  Hi, I'm a tiger, but I try to change the name of a file in a folder (which can be any name that is) a name known.  In the end, just trying to import a file known to filemaker and need the name to be a known name.  That's what I have so far, but I have simply not success.  This goes to the folder 2 window and selects the first file... no problem, but, I can't seem to change the name of 'import.xls '.  Only excel files will be present in this folder, so I'm not worried about it.

  The other thing I would do is if there is no file in this folder to jump above everything and do nothing.

  I'm trying to adapt Windows to my new MacBook Pro with OS El Capitan.

  I work remotely for a company and I want to connect my Mac to the server of the company.

  My question is how to connect a MAc to a network drive with the permanently available connection.  For example, in my old HP I went to my computer / connection to a network drive. I've selected a letter and note the name of the server that I wanted to be connected to. The connection was then shown with my other drive hard 'sections '; I want to say C:, D: (for recovery), e: (for tools) and then connecting to the external server has been shown with the selected letter.

  There is no "letter" under OS X. It's a hangover very old of BACK, devices of mapping and volumes labeled mailbox.

  If you are connected to your corporate network, you should see the available network volumes listed in the Finder, in ' my computer > network ", or with the command K to connect to a server.

  You can create an alias for the volume and put it in the Dock, or leave on the desktop or put it somewhere else, and the next time you want to connect to this subject, simply double-click on it. You can also add the server address to your "favourites" in the connect to Server dialog box.

  Thanks for posting the CREATE TABLE and INSERT for the sample data.

  Don't forget to post the exact results you want from these sample data.  If the results depend on the parameters you want to pass a run time, then give a few different examples, with the the desired results of each.

  You can hardcode the values you want, such as the column names in a query.  For example:

  What is confusing, is that you use myDoc to see the links, so that most of the people (I guess) would be expected to refer to a document. It is clearer to for example use myLinks to refer to the links in the document.

  Back to their names and links. Given a document and a link (for example a graph), then this line:

  app.activeDocument.links [0] .name

  Returns the name of the graph - just the name. This line:

  app.activeDocument.links [0] .filePath

  Returns the full path.

  I noticed at the time of your line "$write = myLink.file.name'." This is another problem because $write is not a function. To display something in the console of the ESTK, use
