Names of suspicious files in my registry.

Why are there files as 'Flesh', 'Cheese', and 'Floor' in my registry? And there are others. They are dangerous or is this normal?

O.K. It has been some time now and no answers? Come on guys! Someone must have an answer to this simple question bit. Help, please!

Hello

You have installed any application recently? (Which may have caused these registry changes).

Run Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if it helps.

Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. During these 10 days, it will remove all the files infected by the virus and records. I suggest you create a backup of your data, and then install Microsoft Safety Scanner.

WARNING: Change the REGISTRY settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

  • Change the name of the file of "Import.xls" selection in Applescript

Hi, I'm a tiger, but I try to change the name of a file in a folder (which can be any name that is) a name known.  In the end, just trying to import a file known to filemaker and need the name to be a known name.  That's what I have so far, but I have simply not success.  This goes to the folder 2 window and selects the first file... no problem, but, I can't seem to change the name of 'import.xls '.  Only excel files will be present in this folder, so I'm not worried about it.

The other thing I would do is if there is no file in this folder to jump above everything and do nothing.

    Thanks for your help!

    Tell application "Finder".

    activate

the value target of Finder window 2 to folder "Orders_to_Enter" of folder "Documents" of the file 'MINIJOHN'from folder 'Users' of startup disk

Select the first file of the window of Finder 2

    Try

the value the name of the selection of "IMPORT.xls".

    end try

    end say

    say

    Hello

No need to manipulate the selection. You can just write something like this:

set d to (path to documents folder as string) & "Orders_to_Enter:" as alias
    tell application "Finder"
        --open item d -- optional
tell (item d's file 1 whose name extension = "xls")
            try
                set name to "IMPORT.xls"
            end try
        end tell
    end tell

    Tested under OS X 10.6.8.

    Good luck

Can not good press the mouse on the name of the file and get the option of e-mail

  • I'm looking for the name of a file that I downloaded four months ago.

I downloaded a file, either the 15th or 16th. Embarrassing, I lost the file, simply by forgetting his name. I need to be able to find my download history, by date. Does anyone know how to do this? I know that history is retained as long, and that I have not erased from history. Find the date that I visited the Web site was easy using the history and an approximate date, but the download history is less intuitive.

And, no, don't help not revisit the site; the only way to find the name of the file it (it's an e-book) is to buy it again, which is NOT what I want to do.

It is in Windows 7 Home Premium, with FireFox v. 28.0 (Yes, I know that it is outdated; I have not used this computer a lot lately). I don't know which version of FireFox has been installed at the time of download - everything that was more common at the time, as I usually make a practice of installing updates.

You can click on view history to open the library.
You should see the downloads folder in the left pane between the record of history and bookmarks.
You can also click on the download icon (down arrow) on the Navigation toolbar, and click Show all downloads.

If you renamed the file then you will not be able to open the file and may also not be the containing folder where you saved the source of the file, but at least it means that you always have this file download history.

This is the last update to Yosemite.

  • What is the name of the file where the contacts are stored.

I need to restore my contacts from a backup. What is the name of the file where the contacts are stored?

According to the contacts or the premises or in iCloud:

    ~/Library/application support/address book/metadata for local contacts

~/Library/application Suport/address book/Sources find the iCloud account and file metadata

However, if your backup is located in Time Machine, open the contacts application and any asset, enter Time Machine. Go back in time to find contacts. Select them and click on restore.

  • Saving PDFs: I would like to be able to change the name of the file and the destination of the downloads without jumping through hoops.

I download a lot of PDF files and I organize their file name. I want to record on my computer to read later. When I have a PDF document is opened in the browser, it's particularly embarrassing. As it is, I have two options:

    Save the file:
This automatically sends the file to a temporary folder to download, which Windows will not let me access without memorizing the exact location. It also saves automatically under the default file name, I never keep. If I use this option, I have to go back and manually move the file in my documents and rename it.

    Open the file:
This opens the file in a new window from Adobe (while simultaneously recording to the same temporary folder). I have to open the file in the browser, and then open it in a new window, then hit save slot, then PDF, then change the destination folder (because the default value is the temp folder) and name of the file.

Please, give me manual control of downloads! I want just a save as option.

Is it possible to right click on the download link and use Save Link as...?
Who will have the choice of "off-site" hands of Adobe.

  • It seems that FFv.12 does not allow Scandinavian letters in the names of downloaded files, but gets stuck all by contacting the localhost?

I do a fileupload page and it seems that FFv.12 does not allow for Scandinavian letters in the names of downloaded files, given that the browser gets stuck trying to communicate with the local host. Fix? This behavior differs from that of other browsers (IE, Chrome, Opera and Safari).

  • When I download something on the Web, the "Downloads" window opens, but that the window remains empty. Before it used to show at least the name of the file and I was able to open the file in the "Downloads" window Is it possible to recover this feature?

I am running Windows XP that is updated to the latest version (which I think could be Service Pack 3, but not positive.) Mozilla Firefox is version 5.0. I tend to use Google as my search engine, so most of the stuff I download comes through sites found through Google, which is also updated.

At some point in the past (there are maybe a few versions) when I want to download a file from the Internet, the "downloads" window opens and in the window would display the name of the file I got was download or came from download. I think I used to be able to then click on the file name and opens the file (or the Setup file if necessary to launch the new program). I am currently using Firefox 5.0 (screen "On Firefox" said that it is up to date) and when I download a file or document, the "Downloads" window appears on the screen as it has always in the past, but it remains empty, that is, nothing is displayed in the download area. I don't remember to make configuration changes, etc., that may have caused the window to remain a Virgin, but I could be wrong. I know how to find the items I downloaded (My Documents / downloads) and can generally guess what might be the name of the downloaded file, but it was much easier when something (anything) appeared in the downloads window.

I'd like someone to tell me about a simple solution for this. I'm ready to be pretty embarrassed that I did something I should not have.

In the Firefox Options / confidentiality be sure 'Remember download history"is checked. To see all the options on this Panel, "Firefox will be" must be set to "use the custom settings for history".

To find your OS information, on your Windows desktop, right-click on the icon my computer, choose Properties, this little window is info on your operating system.

  • When I open the bookmarks, the area to the right of the name of the file is really, really wide. This can be reduced?

After you install Firefox 5, the window drop-down bookmarks menu has changed. Firstly, the area to the right of the name of the file is extremely large. Second, when you click on a file, including the bookmark links, list screen bookmarks covers the names of files, making it impossible to simply scroll to the list of file name.

Firefox 4 and later versions will automatically adjust the width to the length of the longest name.

You can scroll all bookmarks in the list and shorten the names to reduce the total width.

  • When I opened the window "save the Page under", the drop-down box file name indicates the files that have been saved a long time ago. It is not cleared by a function 'clear history' that I can find. How can I erase this?

    1. Question

When I opened the window "save the Page under", the drop-down box file name indicates the files that have been saved a long time ago. It is not cleared by a function 'clear history' that I can find. How can I erase this?

    Hello.

I think this is a related issue of Windows, because it is the Manager to save the windows file that we are talking about here (right?). You should contact Microsoft for help with this one, I think. You expect to be able to delete entries simply by touching delete on your keyboard when they are concentrated (that is how it goes for the removal of the form entries specific autocomplete in Firefox), but I have not tried.

    I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.

  • Suspicious files is in the trash. Worried!

I will not write the name of the files which has begun to show yesterday in my trash (of all places), because when I tried for the first time, the content remains the issue of fall in the.  Let's say that each file included the term 'process' and the first 3 letters of an explosive device. They also included '5/11' and of course, the trash has shown that they were created at this time yesterday.

Two others were created at another time yesterday, and they included time in their titles also.

Each file is only 67 bytes in size and has proved to be a simple text file. Any ideas?  Can I use the trash?

Without knowing more about the names of the files

Run and view the results here so that we know more about your configuration.
