NationalInstruments. version of the common dll

I'm using Visual Studio 2010, and I try to access ports digial on my NI USB-6210.

below I have c# code.  Try to access the data acquisition.  It's simple, but I can't use any device OR because of the dll I have.

I have the version that I think that it works with previous versions for capatibility backward.

When I Isaiah to compile the program, it gives me this error.

Error 2 the type 'NationalInstruments.ISynchronizeCallbacks' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly ' NationalInstruments.Common, Version =, Culture = neutral, PublicKeyToken = 18cbae0f9955702a "."

I don't know if I need a dll different reference or if there is something wrong with the dll.

Thank you.

Looks like you need to add a reference to the DAQmx driver.  Here is another forum that deals with this.

  • Saved as files. PSD now that they are "The Windows Shell common Dll" and does not open?

I'm having a problem with some files open in Photoshop. I use Photoshop CS5.1 Extended (Version 12.1) and you have Windows 7 64 bit SP1 OS.

I'm opening a few models that I made in PhotoShop for a client and it worked fine when I used them 3 weeks ago. All were saved as .psd documents. Now when I go to open them they do have the PS icon (to show that they would be open by PhotoShop). When I try to open them I get "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." I had this problem once before, but it's confusing to me 2 other .psd similar files that I recorded in the same period (separate for the temlate elements) are perfectly fine, those I need won't open.

I checked the properties of the file, and he claims that these files are now the Windows Shell common Dll files. Any ideas?

Among the file names, it looks like windows is confused about the type of file due to the periods in file names.

If in photoshop, you go to file > open as > PSD, open files in photoshop?

    1. you are trying to move files in and out of Windows\System32?

By default, windows has not usually (4) or (2) and if there are several files that it can be indicative of a program to move files if you do not have them.

Could check you if version (or higher) of NationalInstruments.Common.dll is present on your system (IE in the GAC .NET folder and the folder of measurement Studio 2010).

    File GAC .NET: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL

If so, please remove the NationalInstruments.Common.dll in your Visual Studio 2012 project and add the reference to the reference NationalInstruments.Common.dll by using the dialog box add a reference in Visual Studio 2012 in your project. Make sure that the reference to NationalInstruments.Common.dll in your Visual Studio 2012 project is or higher.

These errors can usually be fixed by removing the offending dll, then fix the component it is programs and features Control Panel. AVFoundationCF.dll belongs to Apple Application Support and are normally in

    • C:\Program Files\Fichiers Files\Apple\Apple Application Support or
    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

where the name of the Program Files folder may vary depending on the region.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review other cases and a list of documents to support further down the page, in which case one of them applies.

  • Impossible to update the common Assembly of 8.1 to 8.6

I develop c# code to interface directly with my Renault NI.  There are some examples of excellent for .NET code with DAQmx drivers; for example, AcqOneVoltageSample.2005.

Unfortunately, I have recently updated my DAQmx, which updated the Assembly of NationalInstruments.Common of to  It is not surprising, when I try to open any project example .NET, as the AcqOneVoltageSample.2005, a dialog box with the logo of National Instruments appears entitled "update project references" and asking me to check that I update the referenced version of NationalInstruments.Common from to  I say 'Yes' and check that the assembly is referenced in the solution has indeed been changed to

But now, the solution will not compile.  Specifically, the compiler (Visual Studio 2008, compilation under NET2.0) get two errors:

    (1) the type 'NationalInstruments.ISynchronizeCallbacks' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced.  You must add NationalInstruments.Common version

    (2) the type 'NationalInstruments.ISupportSynchronizationContext' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced.  You must add (same as above).

Both errors refer to the code that instantiates the DAQmx.Task object, even if it is defined in the common version 8.6.

I checked that new version 8.6 the common is properly referenced.  When I remove that reference and add the older version 8.1 it compiles properly.  I tried to rebuild the solution, delete the .bin and .obj directories and reconstruction, by checking the option "local copy" when you reference version 8.6... nothing works.  I don't see anything special in the assembly.cs.  I can compile using the last Assembly NationalInstruments.DAQmx, just not the new NationalInstruments.Common Assembly.

How can I get the sample files .NET for Visual Studio 2005 to compile with the new versions of NationalInstruments.Common against the. NET2.0 library?

    Thank you

You reinstall the DAQmx Driver after the installation of Measurement Studio? You will need to reinstall the drive and make sure that you choose to install support for Measurement Studio.
