  In my application, I have change password page (page 12), when the user given the details and clicked the update button,.
  then they will be redirected to page 13, he gave the message,
  "your password has been upgrade, login click here"
  but in all the right-top corner of pages, he has navigation like:

  welcome: "username"  logout

  The above appears in all pages (1,2,3,4,5... 13)
  Here, I need to delete logout navigation on this page (13) only.
  where should I remove them?

  what you need to do is to copy the page template that you use on page 13 to something like _nologout, so that the name clearly indicates what it does.

  Next step is to choose this model (edit page 13), this can be done under--> "page template" display attributes
  Select your model of freshly copied page here and click on apply.

  In the right panel of the preview page in the parts of shared components, you will see your custom template has changed (open the models node to see this).

  Double click on your custom page template for editing.
  Remove the entry from #NAVIGATION_BAR #, logout will disappear.

• Need help with the vertical navigation within the sidebar of centering bar

  I can't seen to find this setting determines how the orange navigation bars can be centered in the sidebar.  I've read tutorials of David and so they are useful, but I just can not find... or miss this one part.   Also, is it possible to center the web page on the screen, so it is blue on both sides. I have attached a screenshot.

• How can I remove the default clicking sound for navigation actions?

  I have an Adobe Captivate project 7.0 for which I created custom navigation buttons. I used 'standards' such orders that "go to the next slide" and "Go to last slide visited," so that more complex Actions of tip ending in a command "go to slide.

  I would like to make this navigation happen silently, but I can't find a place to remove the default 'click' sound.

  Other discussions discuss rename KeyClick.mp3 so Captivate does not find it, but this seems to affect the mouse clicks in the simulations. I want to silence clicks for all navigation within the project.

  Can someone point me in the right direction?

  I think you're just missing... Turning the click sound is the properties of the button panel.

• question about to navigate within the iPad app

  Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to ensure that people always land on the first page of an article when they use the table of contents to navigate through an app lets say I have 5 themes, each theme is divided into 2 sections: 1) a cover page and 2) multiple pages of content. I've created a navigation within the app that allows for only to navigate to the pages of coverage of each topic to make sure someone would always start reading the topic from the top. However, content pages separated as highlighted in the table of contents so that someone could navigate to them directly, how they would jump on any last page the previous Viewer left article, instead of starting with the first page. is it possible to stop this behavior?

  I see that a small "play" icon appears in the table of content next to these items that are 'open' and a square next to those items that have not been visited before. I tried to click on the 'play' icon to reset article, but it has no effect. Why this is important is because I created a demand for a product where the user must go step by step through the information and does not jump right in there. I appreciate all the advice! Thank you!

  With exit 20, you can now hide the items of table of contents, so you can hide all content multiple TOC pages and only listed cover pages. However, when the user on the content pages, they will be always in whatever the scrollbar of last position. There is no way to force the batteries to reset upward on the future views.

• Need advice - PDF creation navigation: what do I need?

  I could really use some advice.  I often create PDF documents using Illustrator one page (and have someone in the Office combine some with distilling when several docs page are required).

  I now need to create a PDF that I would include navigation within 10 pages (title page has logos that jump to specific pages within the PDF file).

  Issues related to the:

  Best way to do it? (I don't think I can do in Illustrator)

  What software do I need?  $449 for Acrobat X Pro is rough.  Can Adobe Standard X this one, or an older verson?  I can't find a comparison chart between the two.

  General suggestions and advice would be GREAT.  I'm on a deadline and swimming upstream.

  You can do it with the standard. This would entail establishing link (with the Connector tool) annotations or buttons for forms and defining the appropriate action when you click it.

• Chips list nav in IE6 rendering problem

  Have a small and insignificant problem with this page strict html build http://www.jaydaniells.com/jdesign/ . Renders correctly in Firefox 1.5 on a PC but not in IE6. The problem: the graph below the horizontal nav bar style unordered list is partially hidden under the bar of navigation within IE6. I don't know that I fell on the hack for this fix in the past somewhere in a hut after a scout autour online tutorial, I have not been able to find the jolly think. Hoping that someone would be kind enough to provide me with a quick fix.

  validation means very little in terms of if the page renders correctly
  through browser.

• Want only two tabs, side by side, in the fully functional screens... as split view of Maxthon.

  I would like to purchase an add-on similar to Maxthon's split view functionality. In Maxthon this plugin allows not only the opening of the two tabs side by side, but at the same time also allows independent navigation within each of the two screens while keeping the tabs accessible to a tab bar of splits above the screens from. In other words, let's say we have tabs A and B and place each in their own screens (now have two screens, one with a web site and the other with the website of B). Selection of links to A or B will open tabs in each of their respective screens and open tabs on their respective parts of the tab bar. Make a left click on a screen makes activate with full web browsing feature (all Mx actions will be applied to the selected screen). It's like having two pages side by side and each of them is controlled entirely independently. What type of finish, cancellation in split view, returns the browser to one screen with all the open links represented by their respective tabs. Really a great plugin.

  Maybe if you disable 'Tabs Mix Plus' your real/original issue could be resolved by "Fox Splitter". TMP plays havoc with Firefox and a large number of extensions.

• Windows 7 RC - Portege M200 - Base system device

  Windows 7 RC works well on my M200, but Device Manager is showing a "other device" without driver loaded. He is described as "Base system device" and properties indicates its location as "PCI Bus 2, device 13, function 0'.

  I tried online searches and navigation within my M200 for a driver without success. I read elsewhere in these forums that the 'Base system device' could be tied up with the SD utilities. I downloaded a new copy of the SD utilities and installed them, but still no luck. Certainly, the SD format utility does not work - it recognizes not only an SD card in inserted - so maybe the necessary revision of SD utilities for Windows 7.

  Not a major problem as I can format SD cards elsewhere, but it would be nice to receive a certificate of good health from Device Manager.

  Has anyone another execution in this problem and even better, found a solution?

  You are right about revision. All the drivers, tools and utilities for Windows 7 must be designed and tested before they are offered for download. As you know Windows 7 is not yet on the market and the public support can not be started. With first notebook comes with Windows 7 Toshiba Toshiba will be support for the new site and some old models of laptops.

  Sorry but there is nothing you can do about it.

• How to push a new page in TabbedPane?

  I use a TabbedPane and need to open a new Page, but it doesn't seem to be a function push() for TabbedPane.

• How it really works?

  If I understand well then "eveything" I put in the folder that I use for the package gets bundled in the file 'bar '.

  The file 'bar' is what starts the application and displays the file 'index.html '.  This means, of course, to get the start page displays not requiring an internet connection. If I also put pages of 'load' in the same folder that they also seems to be 'accessible' in offline mode. What this 'internal' navigation within the file 'bar' put in place?  It is 100% transparent with the help of access to the server for pages in person in charge. I know there is an alternative using the "appcache". The difference being that appcache requires at least an internt access.

  Navigation features in the same way, if you run a local .html file on your PC. Styles and scripts are loaded by their relative path for the file index.html. The only difference is that the local file also has access to content hosted on a server (on a different domain), as long as the URL is in the whitelist.

  If your local .html file is references to external resources, an internet connection is necessary whenever the application is started. With the help of appCache, like you said just download these files once and extract the cache on each subsequent use.

• Windows 7 network problem (network computers and devices slowly filling)

  When I started > network, the list of devices fills very slowly.  A loading bar going across the top for about 30 seconds to a minute and devices do not show up until the bar is almost completely through.  Must not fill as they are discovered... and why is taking so long?  Also navigation within folders my network is just as slow and large file transfer is slow as well.

  Hi Matt,

  Every time that you open the network list, Windows is designed to rescan the network for devices. Unfortunately, this is normal and there is not much I can do to change that.
  Of course, plenty of time to detect devices and transfer files can definitely be caused by the type of network. You are currently connected via a cable ethernet or WiFi?
  Also, try to update the drivers for your network card and see if that helps. It would also be a good idea to try the connection in SafeMode with networking to see if the problem persists.

• Is it possible to import a project of Simulation in a PowerPoint project?

  I created a project 2 - a PowerPoint presentation and the other a Simulation.

  I thought that I would be able to integrate the simulation in the PowerPoint project - that is, create a button to run the simulation. But I can't seeem to understand how.

  Is this possible?

  I think that Steve is misled by your title, he thinks he wants to integrate a simulation project created with Captivate in a ppt. When I read your question, I think you mean combining two projects Captivate, one based on a ppt, this one a software simulation. Could you confirm?

  If my suspicion is correct, you have two ways to do this:

  1. Use an interactive object in the first PPT-CP-file and a link to the Simulation project published. You must be careful when you transfer them both not to break the link. You are the publication in HTML or SWF format?
  2. Combine the two projects in a CP-project, which is easy enough, as long as they both have the same resolution (width and height in pixels). Open both projects, each is displayed in a tab, select the slide in the PPT project, after which you want to insert the slides of the simulation. Switch to the tab with the simulation project, select all of the slides in the film, copy it, go back to the first project and paste them. To provide a navigation within this project, you can use an interactive object (such as a form button, click box or button) to jump to the first slide of the simulation. You do not specify a type of simulation: demo, training or assessment? If you post on MP4 as Steve suggests, you should have lost any interactivity, which is particularly important for training and assessment. If it is a demo, I would recommend not not to use the classic capture (made from slides), but the demo video for the best quality if you choose to publish in MP4.

  Try to create a new layer and place only your navigation within this layer. Then, make sure that the layer is above all the other layers (in the layer panel).
