Windows 7 network problem (network computers and devices slowly filling)

When I started > network, the list of devices fills very slowly.  A loading bar going across the top for about 30 seconds to a minute and devices do not show up until the bar is almost completely through.  Must not fill as they are discovered... and why is taking so long?  Also navigation within folders my network is just as slow and large file transfer is slow as well.

Thanks for your time,

Matt

Hi Matt,

Every time that you open the network list, Windows is designed to rescan the network for devices. Unfortunately, this is normal and there is not much I can do to change that.
Of course, plenty of time to detect devices and transfer files can definitely be caused by the type of network. You are currently connected via a cable ethernet or WiFi?
Also, try to update the drivers for your network card and see if that helps. It would also be a good idea to try the connection in SafeMode with networking to see if the problem persists.
Hope this helps!

  • Windows 7 networking broken (and fixed)

It is not so much a question as it is a public service announcement.

A week ago, networking has stopped working on my Windows 7 Ultimate machine.  The built in ethernet adapter has been enabled.  The pilot looked good and was up to date.  Everything was beautiful.  But the icon in the system tray network had a big red X and windows refused to see the network.  When you enable the network controller, it wouldn't go through the normal DHCP dance and get an IP address.  He wouldn't even ask a.  Static IP no longer works.  I could put in the correct values, but he refused to see the network.

After the top for a few days, I decided that the jury of network on the motherboard must have failed.  Then I went out and bought a wireless card throw PCI to hold me until I could get a decent ethernet card.  After setting this up, he could see wireless networks.  But when you try to connect, no IP address... even as a member of the Council.

I've done some digging in google and tried again to find the problem.  Someone said that Hello had caused them some problems, and you must update to the latest version.  I just uninstalled.  This corrects the problem.  Hello is apparently a software from Apple, and I think related to iTunes or iPod.  I have not tried to connect my iPod yet, so I can reinstall this gem shortly.

  • Navigation for the AVG firewall Windows XP - network sharing and occasionally be blocked due to uknown UDP outgoing local traffic remotely different ports... Repeatedly enters FilterDevice in the firewall log

    Various involved Ports:
    Local: 257 remotely: 513
    Local: 513 remotely: 6146
I also saw port 259 and a few others...
The firewall settings work for various other users, but seem to don't like is not something in my configuration.

As a member of a domain running Windows XP Pro SP3
When it blocks the traffic, they are always directed to a remote IP address of a domain within my local network controller. I uninstalled a lot of applications, and made sure I have no services for unix/linux installed.  For a bit, I thought he may have something for security certificates because my computer and user accounts are configured with our local CA... I doubt, however, that is related...

I also know that my domain name is not the configuration as tight as we would like to see because we had to reduce some of the security settings for old Windows 98 and AS / 400 systems.  So I remember an old key "reg" which might not help:
    Location: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanworkstation
    \Parameters
    Key: enablesecuritysignature
    Initial value: 0
    New value: 1
This changed seemed to help but then after another it reboot started appearing again...

  • Windows 7 sounds decreases between Applications and devices (Dell Vostro 1015)

I'm having a problem where all that sound comes from applications Stoops when he goes to the peripheral output. To illustrate the problem, here is a picture of what's going on.

I turned on and turned off all the improvements, changed options of exclusivity and changed the format of sample rate.
I know that's not a hardware problem, because sometimes the speaker will be a decent volume, but only temporarily, usually until when I update the volume in firefox or another application that I use for sound.
The thing that triggers this turns on the improvement of Loudness equalization, change my 24-bit, 192000 Hz sampling rate and by checking the boxes 'allow applications to take exclusive control of this device' and 'give exclusive mode applications priority '.

    Hi Verisetti,

Have you installed security software after formatting windows?

If so, you can uninstall the security software temporarily and check if you receive the access violation error.

If the uninstallation of security software solves the problem, you may need to configure the settings of the software of safety accordingly. Please contact the software vendor for assistance in this regard.

Note: Make sure that you install the security software after the trial.

What about Windows vista product ID, you can try to validate Windows and check if it helps.

  • Can homepage of many computers and devices I sync to my pc at home with FireFox Sync

I was wondering if it is possible to merge the browser information from more than one device of Fire Fox

Sync uses a server to store your data for synchronization of multiple devices, it is not a direct connection from one device to another device. I don't know there is a limit to the number of devices that can use the same sync account, I had 5 devices on the same account with no problems.

  • Impossible to activate permanent "network discovery and file sharing" in advanced sharing without turning windows firewall at the wide service.

    Environment:

I have a workgroup Windows 8 pro PC with all updates from Windows update. The PC is connected via WiFi (home) to a router (the same thing happens if I am connected to the router directly via RJ45). It's my "private network (NAT). I have the Windows Firewall is enabled in its default configuration. I use "Windows Defender" as my protection\firewall of virus software.  "When I go to: change options for sharing different network profiles" under advanced sharing options. I try to turn on file sharing and network discovery in the private profile. It shows that "the private sector is the current profile. The radio button lights. However, when I go to the file Explorer / network I got the message ' network discovery and file sharing are turned off. " The network computers and devices are not visible. Click here to change... " I click to change, however when I click to change it keeps returning and gives me the same message. I then go in ""network control and Internet\Network and sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings " and the option buttons in private profile for the network discovery and file sharing are turned off."

If I turn off the Windows Firewall. Everything works. I need to open a hole in the windows firewall for 2 applications was discovered and network file sharing. I opened rather not just blindly ports. However, if this is the only solution, what ports do I need open.

    Hi all

I have exactly the same problem.  (and I'm not the only one. - There are many!) The problem does not lie with the Windows Firewall. If I turn it off, discovery network and file sharing is turned on-tour he turn it back on and its all disabled subsequently and the rest of the way.  I've been round and round the forums of the world looking for a solution but still find a definitive answer. Can certain software engineering in Microsoft Please arrive at the correct answer.
