• AIR 3.6 and MXML Applications?

  My goal here is to compile an mxml application in FB 4.7 in order to have the retina display quality.

  To do this, I followed the instructions for layering the sdk FB 4.7 with the new air sdk 3.6 air (AIR 3.6 SDK with ActionScript 2.0 compiler).

  I also followed the instructions contained in air sdk 3.6 releasenoteand to allow the retina display, I changed the namespace to 3.6 in my application descriptor file, and I also add a line of xml as explained.

  Now my mxml project will not be compiled, the error is:

  Then I read that 'AIR 3.6 SDK with compiler ActionScript 2.0' is only useful for compiling AS3 project and will not work with mxml applications... Maybe that's why I have problem compiling?

  My question is: is it possible to compile projects mxml mode Retina with Flash Builder 4.7?

• Mole Hill, and MXML

  Has anyone tried making a molehill flex project?

  I use Away3D4, and I can get the swf to run very well if it is an AS3 project.

  When I try to run it as a flex project, it does not display the 3D content. I get no errors from the compiler or runtime... so I think it's just the spark SpriteVisualElement is unable to render 3D molehill content.

  There must be a way around this!

  Usually, the best way to do this sort of thing is to work with events. Defining a custom event is necessary which will store different types so that you will always know the nature of the event currently a reshipment. In your main application, simply add an event listener that subscribes to these events (example: this.addEventListener (ChangeEvent.LOGIN_FINISH, onLoginFinish), where "onLoginFinish" will be responsible for changing the status of the main application, and since this event listener is used in the main application, you don't have to worry about scope) and reacted accordingly.

  Thus, completion of the registration process you, you could simply send an event (example: dispatchEvent (new ChangeEvent (ChangeEvent.LOGIN_FINISH)) ;) spreads until the event listener that waits for it (since your NetworkManager is a part of the application main mxml, send your event will surely reach the listener), signaling this way a change in the application.)

  Problem solved:
  I've separated the actionscript and mxml components in 2 files, but I've named them the same (Users.mxml and Users.as)
  I've changed the files such as Users_code.as, and then it worked!

  For AIR 3.6 two version of the AIR SDK were one with the new released IN the compiler and the other to Flex with the old AS and MXML compilers. You will release a SDK 3.7, which is compatible with Apache Flex? And if yes what willit be available?

  Thanks, Justin.  I spoke with the enforcement and discovered that we plan to release the AIR 3.7 SDK for flex users.  The problem now is that we have only one (with compiler) available on the channel of laboratories.  We talk so much adding laboratories, but I have no comment on that yet.  However, both will be available when 3.7 ships and I hope that we will have the Flex out for beta also compatible version.  The comments on this thread and the bug report shows clearly that there is a demand.

• Extension fails when loading

  I'm working on a project with the FB4/EB sdk. Whatever he was going well and then all at once the extension does not load anylonger in indesign. I moved to a State I know worked and even now, I commented on everything (syntax of script and mxml) in my code with the exception of a dummy label within the app.

  PS: Thanks to Gabriel, I get EB, but this project was launched with FB, so I wanted to achieve in this environment.

  Try to remove all your extensions records compilations (both users and global).

  Restart the prefs app and trash.

  Make sure that the name of the swf matches that defined in the manifest too.

  Thank you for taking the time to read my post and help out me.  I am currently just learning actionscript 3 and I have been using flash professional in order to program most of my first flash programs, I want to take one of my ideas and create to run on blackberry playbook, then I downloaded flash builder 4.5 and have set up my whole environment.

  Im running into that problem is with flash professional imaging and video clips was as simple as adding objects to the library and then set up the link, so it could be used by your AS3 code, frames and layers were added through the... well with flash builder user interface, I have no idea of how to do because there is no GUI I wonder if someone could explain how to create and link to video clips and work with managers using the flash builder 4.5... I know this is probably a stupid question, but I'm not just

  Hi nateatkins, Flash Builder is a software to develop flex and as3 applications. Do things with Flash Builder, you must code in .as and .mxml files. Flash you gives the opportunity to the graphic element, add them to a library, animate using the software interface and controls and publish them right out of the box, but this isn't the purpose of Flash Builder. You can use Flash to make a library of graphic elements, configure these elements to be available as classes in Actionscript, then export your library as a CFC to use them in a draft code of Flash Builder. Or you can choose to encode your actionscript code using external .as files in Flash and flash builder allows you to write them. Flash Builder is intended to make life easier when you are working on the code project using as3 object oriented and let encode you faster. Flash has its limits to help you when it's time to code, Flash Builder is there to improve your workflow development if necessary.

• Flex components on a project AS 3.0 in Flashbuilder 4?

  I'm a little torn here. I have two Flash Professional CS5 and Flash Builder 4.

  As I got more and more developing Actionscript 3.0, I'm trying to find my land on which program I would be better to use.

  I like the Flash Professional, but find that for the moment, I don't have much use a timeline, I prefer all code on stage and I miss the code window and caregivers tools that Flash Builder is intended for programmers.

  Flash Builder 4 by choosing and learning Actionscript 3.0, I'm done trying to create a new Actionscript 3.0 project.

  Then it dawned on me that I'm missing on all components flex (like for example the TextInput control) which are at my disposal when starting a Flex project.

  Is there a way to get access and appropriate use of these components, while working in Flash Builder project Actionscript 3.0?

  Another option - I hear say you - would be to get into Flex and MXML, which scared me a bit, but I just put my mind to learn AS 3.0 and feel bad to the abandonment of these plans already to learn another language immediately?

  Tips and advice are welcome so more.

  first of all, under your project in FB actionscript3, go to project properties / and add a reference to the source directory component on the tab of the CBC as opposed to the library (SWC) tab. I tried with Flash CS4, but I also have CS5 I was not looking for with.

• Why library projects?

  What is the advantage of a library project more having a source folder external that you share projects bewteen?

  If you have a library project it compiles a SWC rather than the swf. If other projects links to the CFC (instead of files, .as and .mxml 'raw' as in an external source folder) then development is faster because the library stuff are already compiled rather than to be recompiled every time you test/run/publish your main project

• Noob Flex - Run Application question

  I am trying to learn Flex 4 and have a question.

  When I download the Adobe website example files, I tried to open the files in Flex, but he told me that I have to select

  Your question is a bit confusing, but here's a fundimental principle in Eclipse.

  Each project has;

  MyProject

  -bin

  -src

  -MyApplication.mxml

  -html-template

  -libs

  The 'src' folder contains all the classes of the executable/compilable code actionscript and mxml applications/components.

  The only thing that Flash Builder runs is a mxml file that subclasses s:Application or mx:Application or a subclass of them.

  Flash Builder will not work 'just' a mxml file. So if you get the sample applications from Adobe, you must have in the src folder and do a little green arrow in the upper left corner. This means that it is a registered application that you can run. The small blue dot at the top right corner means that it is the default application that runs when you hit ctr - F11 or F11 or Run...

  If you paste a file that IS an Application and cannot enforce, you;

  -Make sure that it is in your src folder

  -Click right one select run as

  -Select the Web Application

  It will run the app only to discover no compiler error. If the mxml file is not saved as an application, this action he also recorded.
