[ncs 5500 in the SP core]

Hi all:

Let's say you have a SP BGP-free core network with services like: the Internet residential and business, mpls vpn in all flavors, multicast voice and video, etc. What would be the reasons not to use a NCS5500 on other platforms like asr9k/crsX/ncs6k, which are classic/preferred kernel type routers?

I know that this could be considered a too open question, so some specific balls could be enough to reply. I am aware that this could be a matter of opinion too, but prices in the ncs5500 makes this platform a very tempting option.

Thank you very much!
c.

Hi Carlos,

several parameters will be used to decide if you want / can use the NCS 5500 in your heart:

-the density of ports: If you need ports of 1 G, only the NCS 5501 can serve today but not the 8 slots NCS 5508 chassis (a line with possibility of 1 card G is in the roadmap if)

-l' scale: If you need very large route tables (more), you should consider ASR9000

-If you need technology inherited from multicast now, it is not covered in the course of the feature set (PIM - SSM only today, ASM protocols are in the roadmap)

-If you plan ZTP/ZPL FROM, you must target NCS 6000

-If you wait L3VPN features (such as a PE) today and features the EVPN, you need the ASR9000. It will come soon, but even later on the 5500.

Overall, the NCS 5500 can address today most of the basic MPLS requirements. In addition, it supports the Segment routing and MPLS - TE (RSVP), fairly large routing tables (once again, 2.7 M prefixes is huge and enough for 99% of the use cases) + all the news to come with IOS XR (telemetry streaming, 3rd party applications in containers, Zero Touch Provisioning with iPXE and scripts, M2M, automation...).

Kind regards

N.

    Hi Carlos,

    in the current version (6.1.1 / 6.1.2), the NCS 5500 supports PIM-SSM and IGMPv3.

    More routing technology "legacy" (ASM: PIM SM, IGMPv2, Auto-RP, MSDP, BSR, etc.) are targeted for 6.2.2 (should be around April 2017).

  • Re: Qosmio G50-10 t: How can I use the Quad - Core CPU Toshiba HD?

    Hello.

    And how you can use several Toshiba Quad Core HD processor with four RISC SIMD 128-bit processors in the Qosmio G50-10 t except that: enables support for H.264 encoders / HD / MPEG2 decoders, with functions for convert, transcode, navigate using the face (Face Navigation) detection and control actions. INJURY is not used!

    Maybe someone knows some software sales in which it could be used.

    Hello

    This Quad Core CPU is an additional processor that is not always in use.
    It was designed in the order using the main processor in some of the media process.
    For example, the Quad Core CPU works during the encoding or decoding of certain video standards. If you want to change it the standard of the video, the Quad Core CPU helps you complete this quick procedure.

    In addition, it improves the quality of the video (not HD). So, theoretically, you can view the videos in HD quality.
    Of course, you won't get the same quality as a film that has been recorded in full HD, but the Quad Core helps you improve the 576i pictures.

  • HP Pavillion P6347c: Allow the processor cores

    This is the second time that I post this question, now with more information. I ran the HP Hardware Diagnostic and Test "Multicore" informed me that "only two of the four cores are enabled. How to activate the other two hearts? When I search the computer for the amount of available cores, it is said that two nuclei, yet all other research say that there are four cores of the processor. When checking with the Manager tasks two cores work. The processor is the AMD Athlon II X 4 630 processor. I checked in msconfig and still only 2 cores are available. Here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

    Device Manager displays both physical and logical processors.

    Download CPU - Z to verify that you have actually 4 cores and 4 wires. The default CPU tab shows the number of hearts and son down.  This tools will flush out the inaccuracies with Windows may report errors.  This tool should "dispel" you.

  • How the processor cores and RAM work?

    I'm abit confused as to how work the processor cores and RAM work? What is selecting 2 hearts the mac was still 4 processors and virtualization of Windows is limited to 2 hearts or virtualization of Windows has 2 cores and running the CMA may have 2 hearts ? The same for both RAM and also when is suspended the RAM of virtualization Windows continue to use mac RAM?

    Kind of a newbie question, but I'm new on this and have tried searching on Google and could not find anything on this subject, it was that most do just enough carrots or RAM rather than information.

    Best regards

    Welcome to the community - operating system MAC will always use all the cores by default. Fusion is an application running in the operating system, and when you run a virtual machine and it needs time processor, the operating system will set the virtual CPU on a core - and if you have 2 vcpus assigned it will plan each thread on separate kernel - memory is done in the same way that the virtual machine when it is necessary the OS it will plan to the applicattion.

    When you suspend a VM from virtual machines running it will still use some memory - to suspend the virtual machine, it is better to merge.

  • How to get to each use of the processor core using the powershell cmdlets?

    Can get stat used to get all the cpu cores use separately?

    Thank you

    REDA

    Of course, the cmdlet Get-Stat can, in addition to the real time statistics, also retrieve the metrics for each of the 4 historical intervals.

    You who control with the - IntervalMins (or - IntervalSecs), the - Start and settings - finish.

    A few examples

    # Historical interval 1
    $stats = Get-Stat -Entity (Get-VMHost ) -Stat cpu.usage.average -IntervalMins 5 -Start (Get-Date).addhours(-6) -Finish (Get-Date).addhours(-5) -MaxSamples 12
    $stats | where {$_.Instance -ne ""} | %{
         Write-Host "Core" $_.Instance "avg" $_.Value
    }

    # Historical interval 4
    $stats = Get-Stat -Entity (Get-VMHost ) -Stat cpu.usage.average -IntervalMins 1440 -Start (Get-Date).adddays(-2) -Finish (Get-Date).adddays(-1) -MaxSamples 24
    $stats | where {$_.Instance -ne ""} | %{
         Write-Host "Core" $_.Instance "avg" $_.Value
    }

    Problem is I don't like the date format of the IPTC core, I prefer the 06/06/11 to 06/11/06

    In my opinion, you don't get a model because that fixed information and you want to have different values.

    And if you like it or not, IPTC s a global standard and it might not be a good idea to change that because other applications or users also depend on this format.

    If you want the date format you want, you can choose to do a batch rename the parameter, for example for a series of images using the format yy-mm-dd_Filename_sequencenumber.

    If you use yyyymmdd_filename_sequencenumber your files have a sort order in the finder

  • What is the 'hard core' file in bdump?

    Hello
    the file named "base" is in the bdump directory?
    How can I open it?

    Thank you.

    More generally, the files "core" would be the info on a process on the side o/s. I'm not sure you are correct that they are found in the BDUMP because as far as I KNOW, they should be in the folder CDUMP. But wherever they are, you are not supposed to deal with the content and must send it to OSS.

  • View filed instructions (that s under the IPTC Core metadata).

    Hi all

    I m new to programming scripts in Photoshop... and tried everything but was not able to modify the script below. Let´s explain that this script is in the folder by default Adobe Photoshop and work to show the camera model used for the current image.

    Now... the challenge... I want to change the script when you run the TI watch a field entitled Instructions (that s located in the tab the IPTC Core XMP metadata (in Photoshop > Open Image > go to the file menu > option File Info and see the IPTC Core tab > training).)

    Can someone please help me to change these lines. This can make it very simple for you, but it s actually very difficult for me; This basic script is what I have and works very well to display the camera model:

    try {}

    var xmpString = activeDocument.xmpMetadata.rawData.toString ();

    var tiffModelLength = (' < tiff: model > ') .length;

    var tiffModel = xmpString.search ("< tiff: model > ');

    var tiffModelEnd = xmpString.search ("< / tiff: model > '");

    var tiffModelStr = xmpString.substr (tiffModel + tiffModelLength, tiffModelEnd - tiffModel - tiffModelLength);

    If (tiffModelStr.length > 0) {}

    Alert (tiffModelStr + locate (' $$$ '));

    }

    check the exif data

    var exifModelStr = ";

    var exifData = activeDocument.info.exif;

    for (var i = 0; i < exifData.length; i ++) {}

    If (exifData [i] [0] == 'Model') {}

    }

    }

    } / / end try

    {} catch (e)

    / / always wrap your script with try/catch blocks so that you do not stop production

    / / delete the comments below to see the error for debugging

    / / alert (e);

    You have installed one of the worst, in the opinion of most of us users here, malware applications available, MacKeeper.  It proved too toxic for Macs.

    Read this tip to the user: do not install MacKeeper.  It also has links to uninstall programs.  You can also do a Google search for "uninstall MacKeeper" for links to the site MacKeeper to uninstall programs. Once you have removed the offending files re-run Etrecheck to confirm that you have them deleted successfully.

    You can also check if you have deleted all the files by downloading and running find any file to find all files with the application name and the name of the developer in the name of the file.  For example, for CleanMyMac, you would do two searches:

    1 - name contains mackeeper

    2 - name contains zerobit

    All files that are found can be dragged into the window of search results on the Office for suppression.

    FAF can find areas that Spotlight can not as invisible folders, system folders and packages.

    Where did you get the memory modules that are in your Mac?  They are Apple?  If not, where do you have them?

  • 13 Firefox works in multithreaded mode and it can use the quad-core processors?

    When you buy a new PC, we choose between dual core vs quad core processors, and some people claim that Firefox work mode multithreaded mulch and treats each tab in a separate process and may fully use the advantage of a quad-core processor. Is this true?

    Firefox does not treat each tab in a separate process. If this can be a function in the future, I don't know of any plans to introduce any time soon. Obviously, buying a quad core processor will be significantly faster than a dual core, and your browser is usually less consume a lot of resources than other programs. I would not use it as your buying decision. Firefox will work just as well on a dual-core or a quad-core, but windows and other programs will work better with 4 cores.

  • Satellite Z930 - Possible WiDi with the Intel Core i7 CPU?

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Z930 and I am trying to expand the display of the monitor to a new TV that I just bought wireless. -Is is possible to connect to the laptop via WiDi?

    Main specifications of my laptop are:
    -Intel Core i7-3667U @2. 00 Ghz
    -Wireless LAN - AR9485WB-EG Atheros wireless network adapter

    Any ideas?

    M.

    Hello

    Intel WiDi is based on Intel technology and this support depends on the Wlan card built in Notepad.
    You need to use the Intel WiDi, Intel WLAN module which is part of the 6000 Centrino series.

    As you mentioned in you original post above; the laptop seems to be equipped with an Atheros WLan card.
    The Atheros WLan card does not support the Intel WiDi and therefore, you will not be able to use this technology.

  • HP Compaq 8510p: is it possible to update from the Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 CPU on the HP Compaq 8510p to a T9600

    Hi all

    I want to upgrade my HP Compaq 8510p.

    I have an Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 installed. It's pretty fast, but I would need to increase the RAM memory. Unfurtunately, it only supports 3 GB. I searched the web and found the T9600. Similarly, the T9700 and the Q9100 have a the same base (P) and have been suggested here: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Core_2_Duo_Mobile/T8300 _ (Socket_P) .html

    On the other hand, I've read, the Quad may not be supported by the motherboard, which im my case seems to be called 30CS KBC Version 71.36

    My BIOS version is the Ver.F.15 of 68MVD

    I would be grateful for any help regarding this issue.

    Thank you.

    Alex

    Here is the Service Manual that answers all the questions:

    Your manual

    See p. 24. Top of page processor listed is a T9500. Quad is not supported. Other processors dual-core as a T9900 might work, but you're better off to take the manual is correct.

    The laptop can support that 3 GB RAM because you are not running a 32 bit OS. It is capable of up to 8 GB, but it uses DDR2 and 8 GB of DDR2 memory is very expensive; well over US $100.

    If it's 'the Answer' please click on 'Accept as Solution' to help others find it.

  • threads, processes and the dual core processors

    Hello

    We use the CVI and we want to use multithreading. The application is running on a dual core processor, so the question is if it is possible to define the basis on which the thread is running? Does anyone know if it is possible to start a program, process, or a thread on a predefined kernel?

    If this is not possible with the CVI, is it possible directly with the Windows API?

    Thank you

    Oliver

    AWESOME, thanks I'll try.

    Greetings

  • G60-458DX laptop: is my G60 - 458DX Notebook PC capable of using the lntel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53 CPU?

    I am able to use the processor intel core 2 Duo T9400 2.53 GHz CPU in my G60-458DX laptop? The vehicle currently has the Pentium Dual Core T9200 @ 2.00GHz with 4 GHz Ram and I am using windows 7 64 bit OS. I want to use software of recognition speech (Dragon Naturally Speaking v6) but the current CPU is not fast enough. Any help is apreciated.

    The man at the shop said only it wouldn't fit, he really tried. I watched several videos on how to replace the processor and it seems relatively easy. But I am physically disabled and I think that I don't have the dexterity to put things together. I take it back to the shop and tell him to try to put it.
