Necessary German spelling checker

I would get a German spelling checker in Firefox (similar to the way in which it exists for Thunderbird). This spelling checker can be installed in Firefox 4?

You can get the German Dictionary of https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/language-tools/

  • Outlook Express 6 spelling checker stopped working

I have Outlook Express 6 on XP Home SP3.  The spelling checker feature has recently stopped working.  The icon is there, but it is grayed out.  I tried to remove the icon from the toolbar Customize the function and then adding again.  When I add again, the icon lights up as if it is fixed, but when I close the box to customize the icon returns to status greyed out.  By reading the help, I saw that OE uses the spelling checker provided with Microsoft Office.  I have Office 2010 installed and the spelling checker works fine in Office applications.  Any help would be appreciated!

Your settings via the Control Panel won't make any difference because...
Windows Mail can't check spelling in Australia English.Windows Mail has only 4 language correcting spelling, English, French, German and Spanish.
Suggest that you 'upgrade' to Windows Live Mail, which have 26 languages spellcheck, which is English (Australia).

  • I want to turn the spelling checker in Waterfox, but the method for Firefox does not work?

I added my language in the options and set it as your preference and ticked "check my spelling as I type", but I KEEP getting the spelling English-Checker when typing on a certain forum. And I type in Dutch, so it is very difficult to read with almost all the underlined words...

So, I can't put it in my mother tongue, and I can't turn him completely. Either one would be great...

I've been loolking for a way to show that this issue concerns WATERfox, not FIREfox, but somehow there is no separate place to do...

The global setting to turn off all THE spell checking in Firefox is here:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced > general mini-onglet > "Check my spelling as I type".

    You say it doesn't work?

Note that the already loaded pages are not affected by the change, only the pages that load after that you activate the setting. So if you want to stop the spell check on the current page, you need to recharge after changing the setting.

  • Spelling checker does not?

My spell checker does not work. I have the dictionary installed, and the box that says "check spelling" is checked, the dictionary for English is selected. The little red line appears, but it does not give me options for the misspelled word. The only site that released works by checker on Kaiser is, it will not work, or you get it facebook or gaia or solia, youtube,. Please please! Help me, I tried to update, reinstall everything!

Try to start Firefox in safe mode. This mode disables all extensions, customizations, hardware acceleration, etc., temporarily for the diagnosis and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then it is probably a problem with the add-on. Restart Firefox in normal mode, and then type "subject: addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions, restart Firefox between each one, until you find the troublemaker.

  • The spelling checker promised with firefox 6.0 does not work.

I upgraded to 6.0 because I was promised a spellchecker built to replace the one with the google toolbar that I would lose. I tried to test it, it didn't work. For example. "mounth" <-see that which is put in a section he must check and does not save. Fix it or better yet set up a fake version of the google toolbar because I tried to customize an and it just painful. Make sure it has a spell check buttons and translate. Spell check button would be better then auto spell correction for those of us who are paranoid.

Not related to your question, but...

    You must update some plug-ins:

  • Add words to the spelling check

    Hotmail Compose E-mail:

    Language: Portuguese

Spell Checking tip the misspelled word, but does not offer the correct spelling

I have it correct me and click "add to Dictionary".

Hotmail does not add to it.

On my next text, when I made the same mistake, corrected Spelling Word that I had added does not appear as an option to check the spelling.

    Hi Bosco54,

The question you have posted is related to Hotmail and would be better suited to the community of Windows live.

  • Change fonts after spelling check in 2000 of WinHelp

I'm working on a project created in WinHelp 3. After completing the changes and compile, everything was good. I then went back and ran the spell checker in Word. After compilation of new all my fonts changed to Times Roman. I deleted the. RTF file and recompiled without result.
I tried to work with the model Normal and had no luck. I also tried to change styles.
    What else could be?

Looks like the solution is to work at home. :-)

I would certainly work outside of the network as that will only add to your problems.

The location prefix is the equivalent for users of Word 2002 (XP) problem, so that you should not see that. I'm sorry I gave you the wrong link. Try this one.

I'm sorry that I don't know the real solution at the moment other than uninstalling the patch. However, it is under review by Adobe that I type this watch so other threads because they are the most important.

  • Change the input language (but no keyboard)

Advice from Microsoft about this is here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Add-or-change-an-input-language

What they fail to mention is that whenever you change the input language, you must also switch the physical keyboard. This is not useful... you can easily enter (say) German with an English keyboard, but as this feature is currently implemented, if you want to than the German spelling checker, you can also switch to a German keyboard.
    Or am I missing something?

I was curious - what happens if we give a QWERTY keyboard for the laptop computer French?

I can confirm that a QWERTY keyboard works fine when an input language is defined on FR... This has always been my position of withdrawal anyway.
I also read that the keyboard mapping is maintained in the registry, so my other idea is to assign an input EN language (which will force me to choose an English keyboard), and then change the mapping if it corresponds to the real keyboard (AZERTY).
This sounds like a viable solution?
  • If I use check my spelling as I type, is this just local?

If I use "check my spelling as I type", which is only local, or this connection - is online somewhere and transmitting what I type to see if it is correctly spelled? Just double check...

The checker spelling of Firefox still works on the spot.
Some site may be using an advanced editor that comes with its own spelling checker and disable the checker spelling of Firefox.

You need to have a dictionary installed and have a tick to 'Check spelling' to use the built-in spellchecker of Firefox.

  • Why Firefox spell-check using non-English and American spelling.

Everytime I type something and use a word that can be spelled differently in English and American, Firefox always pointed out my spelling English red, which means that the spelling is incorrect when it is not incorrect, it highlights the fact that I should use the spelling American. for example '

When I type COLOR which is the English spelling, it is highlighted in red.

If I type COLOR it is pointed out that he said is correct but it's the American spelling and I don't want to use the American spelling.

That's why Firefox uses the American spelling and I DON'T WANT my emails to companies wishing to be entered in the American language, if I lived in America, so be it, but I live in England and to use English thank you very much.

Right-click in a text entry box and go to 'Language', then 'Add Dictionaries' (if you don't see this option, make sure that you have "Check spelling" checked). You will be redirected to a page containing a list of dictionaries. Add your favorite like any normal module language. Once installed, right click in an area of new text entry & select 'Language', then the newly installed dictionary.

  • Why isn't my check spelling work?

    Hi guys,.

Since the last update of Mozilla version 23.0 my spelling check is no longer in effect. I seem to be miss-written every word, because each of them are noteworthy.

How can I solve this problem? I don't want to change to another browser of crap just because I can't use an add-on check spelling...

As a side note, all that worked on version 22, and I don't understand why it isn't now. I just want to see this problem, please help? Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem and solved it by uninstalling Firefox 23 and all its data and downgrade to Firefox 22. Now the spell checking works properly!
If a developer is reading this, please see the question. My computer has 64-bit Windows 8.

    NOTE
Apparently, this problem was caused by a Firefox bug which has been fixed in Firefox 23.1 the nature of the problem is such that no English installs was more likely to be affected.
My post under gives more information.

Users should not have this problem now, or if you do, then it is likely to be another cause. So please start a new question of your own using the link standard/issues/new/firefox

  • Last part of longer texts are not checked spelling, why?

I use FF as speller for long HTML files. It seems that after about 10 screen fulls the spelling checker works (I noticed tags HTML not marked after 10 pages or more).

The spelling with indicator limit is 500 by default. To increase the maximum go to about: config. Then adapt:

    Extensions. SpellCheck, inline, Max-misspellings

    Output FF and start.
