  Hi all.

  I replaced the HARD drive on my Elitebook2570p for SSD and I need to reinstall Win 7 Pro OEM to enable using my travel sticker located under the battery.

  I saw in aid of MS that we should reach to the local HP service center to do this, can cause seller issued series of Win does not allow with MS Genuine audit.

  However, the service representative Local HP told me that they cannot ask for Win 7 Installer CD to professional laptops and I must ask HP support directly.

  Could someone in HP give me a hint what to do in this case?

  If I understand correctly, OEM Win key is locked down for my motherboard, and unless I replace, I can't reinstall and activate the OS without any problem.

  Hi all,

  I'm in trouble to take my tablets to win 8.1 Pro OEM. I have 3 tablets available with the same configuration. 2 of them were temporarily installed and test devices with Windows Enterprise 8.1. Unfortunately, my colleague deleted the entire hard drive. Now I try to install Win 8.1 Pro and I want to activate windows with the OEM of the UEFI BIOS key. Please keep in mind, I have a tablet to work, maybe I can use that tablet to restore others.

  Here are the steps I've tried (2 days of frustrating):

  1. install Windows Pro 8.1 and try to insert the key OEM of UEFI BIOS-Windows Online does not accept the key

  2 copy the entire hard drive of the tablet of an another "Paragon Partition Manager' work. The Windows works fine and the Tablet is usable BUT the windows are not enabled of course. I tried to insert the key OEM of UEFI Bios-Windows Online does not accept the key

  3 reset Windows: I used the built-in feature of Windows to reset the whole environment (remove and reinstall Windows) without success.

  Any other ideas? Y at - it a recovery option with the "install.wim" in the recovery partition, that I can use?

  You must use a W8.1 OEM Pro installation disc or a flash drive in order of the OEM key work.

  If you use a disk for installation of the retail or the media of the W8.1 that you downloaded from Microsoft, those will not work.

  I suggest you to contact HP technical support to the country that you live in and order a set of HP W81. Recovery disc OEM Pro for at least one of the machines.

  Then, you can use all of the other.

  You will need to have the serial number of the PC handy to give to the customer service rep.

• Acer Aspire 5520 (WIN XP Pro) needs updated drivers

  OS Vista on my Aspire 5520 had many files damaged as well as the recovery disc. I couldn't find my original disk so I decided to install Win XP Pro I had my original disc of one of my other computer that got fried. Installation goes very smoth but, when finished, I checked the Device Manager and fould 8 element listed under other devices.

First time having this problem in more than 40 years because I always make backups of everything but this one I can't find work on computers.

  Click on "Drivers and manuals", type "Aspire 5520" (without the quotes) in the box. "" Then, select "Windows XP 32-bit" from the drop-down Opertating system.

• Printing from W7 HP laptop attached to a Win XP Pro Office; driver needed?

  Have a home network of XP machines that allows to print on a HP 3030 printer that is usb attached to a wireless Win XP Pro SP3 desktop.  Find everything HP/fine print.  Added a portable W7 Home Prem 64 b, changed the name of default WORKING group-> of the existing XP Workgroup. W7 is attached 3030 fine on the net, but:

  Trying to add the printer results in: "Cannot find the driver on the network..." "One needs. INF file.  Try to find such a file locally fails; configuration to add a printer to look at Windows Update also fails.  HP.com says that support this printer is "Windows7" - I can't find a driver. INF file to d/l.

  Suggestions welcomed.  Is it really a driver problem or a W7 problem Windows XP Home edition?  Thanks in advance.

  Endnote: W7 laptop can print to HP if it is local/USB-connected directly to the 3030, so the driver 3030 in W7 works; the problem seems to be in queue a task to the WXP since the W7 over the net.

  OK solved this problem; If anyone has this problem go on the W7 Forum in this same topic for my post/reply.  The solution is to add the WinXP printer as a local printer via a Local Port; a W7 driver must be available on the W7 machine of course...  Solution has been posted for the same problem under Vista.
