  I have a laptop Gateway FX which was purchased January 2009 with Windows Vista.  I'm now receive messages indicating that operating system is no longer supported and I want to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit.  I can't find a version upgrade purchase, any help will be greatly appreciated.

  There is no free and legal Vista download

  Here are the different ways to reinstall vista:

  Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

  they do it for a nominal cost of $

  also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

  you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

  Ask them of the exact key sequence

  or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

  Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

  Hey, I'm trying to upgrade my Vista Business OS to Windows 7 Enterprise. During the 5th stage of the upgrade, i.e. While "transfer files, settings and programs", the process stops at 72% and a message error that "not enough disk space. I have more than 20 GB on my C: drive. I tried to go through different solutions of circumvention, but noon seem to work. Any help will be appreciated.

  For lack of other options, I finally decided to do a clean install. Result: great! Looks like my laptop is brand new, and I have total control over the programs I want to install and the junk that I finally got away with. in any case, thanks for the answers!

  You could try a few things first, check the Action Center in Windows 7 for all possible solutions (click Start, type: Action Center > press enter).

  Then you can also try repair your installation of Windows 7:

  3. When asked if you want to boot from your DVD player, do it.
  4. Select your language, click Next.
  5. click on "repair your computer".
  6. Select the operating system you want to repair.

  If the problem persists, try these other suggestions:

  Hello. I have a Toshiba satellite A100-036 laptop with windows vista home basic 32-bit, and I have the following problems.

  1. they replace me the hard drive in a store. I don't have the Toshiba dvd recovery I used to format the windows. They told me that I can't use it more because the recovery of the disk partition is lost. If I want to format again what should I do?

  2. whenever I turn on the laptop touchpad scrolling does not work. I go to control panel > mouse and it shows me this message: "unable to connect to the score. synaptics device driver.   If you have the Toshiba recovery disc in the past, you can use it as part of the new HARD drive. The Toshiba Recovery disk would fix the laptop back to factory settings, which means that you have installed Windows system, Toshiba drivers and additional software.

  Go to the page of the Toshiba UE driver and download the driver for the Synaptics touchpad. Install the touchpad driver and reboot the laptop. Usually, this should solve your problem.

  It's strange. Usually the BT should work if the BT stack has been installed correctly. Please note that you must activate the BT using the fn (FN + F8). This combination turns on and the WiFi also. So make sure you did it correctly.
