Your laptop will probably work if it is fairly new, but then you lose the ability to run Windows directly on the hardware of your laptop. If you choose to use your laptop computer, back up the data on computer portable th. and burn the iso image fo ESX 5 on the disc.  Then put the ESX disk in your laptop and boot.  You will blow out Windows in the process, but you might have an ESX Server, when you are finished.  I say maybe because VMWare does not directly support laptops.

Since you said that you were studying at the review, I recommend that you buy a dedicated VM server.  You can then install vSphere client on your laptop and have access to your dedicated server.

If your budget allows, pick up a Dell PowerEdge 1950 off ebay for around $200.  Put at least 16 GB of memory in it.  I added a 1 TB SATA hard drive to mine.  Other brands of servers also works, but the PE of Dell 1950 was the least expensive way (that would go ESXi 5.0) I found to go about this when I started studying for my VCP.  HP works well too, but then you enter generation specifiic questions... for example, DL380 G3 wont 5.0 ESX but a DL380 G7 desire.  They are always the same machine, but different versions.  It becomes confusing.  That's why I stuck with Dell.

I now ESXi 5.0 is installed on the hardware, and then inside that I'm running (2) ESX 4.0 servers and a Windows 2008 Server for vSphere.

OK, for the windows 2008, try to install the DNS service (Add Server Manager roles) in there... (you cannot point the others it as DNS if it does not act as DNS)

also in it the IP configuration, set as follows:

    IP 10.1.1.31

    Subnet 255.255.255.0

    Gateway 10.1.1.1

    Primary DNS 10.1.1.31

203.x.x.35 secondary DNS (you can also add the 203.x.x.36)

Do the same for your guests to WIndows 7.

Make sure all are workers and they can ping each other...

If everything is OK, you should have internet on them...

  • I need help for VMWare WS 8

    Hello

I'm about to evaluate VmWare workstation 8 but immediately ran into a problem where I simply can't find an answer or a clue how I can possibly create a virtual machine, as described below. As I am trying to provide as much as possible for what I intend to create, please bear with me for the description below might be a bit long:

    1. I'm migration of Windows XP 32 bit on a machine Intel Core2Quote 9400 to Win7 64 bit on an Intel Core i5 2500 K PC processor.

    2. among all the possible VM that I might want to create with VMWare 8, one of the very crucial VM that interests me is a WinXP BACK (i.e. MSDOS ver 5.5) like the one I get when I open a fullscreen WinXP DosBox.  i.e.
    (a) I want to launch my new PC with Win7 64 bit.
((b) in the Win7 as indicates it a) above, I want 8 WS VMWare to run a virtual machine, which is essentially an MS-DOS 5.5 environment.

    3. Thus, it is possible for me to create a virtual machine such as in 2. (b) above? How do I create that? i.e. for 2.b) above, I don't want any Windows XP, I just need his full-screen DOSBOX.

    Moreover,.
Is it possible to run a virtual machine MS-DOS 6.22, is there than a fact easily MSDOS 6.22 VM that I can import into my VMWare 8? I don't think I'm able to find my old MSDOS 6.22 floppy, even if I can, I do not have a disc torrent with my new PC...

to start a machine virtual without EFI-Bios from USB you must boot from a Plop - bootmanager.iso first - then once the Plop bootmanager has started you can let him call the USB device.

The problem with this approach - you may need to run a few times - often the USB device only will start with a USB 1 speed during the first attempt

A single license is also used for several UNIQUE for vCenter Server services protected authentication servers. A license is required per instance of vCenter Server.

  • Satellite A200-1 g (PSAECE) Win XP. Need drivers for SATA HDD and GeForce 7300

    Hi all.
I would install XP instead of Vista on my note. As far as I know, XP has no builtin for SATA driver. I found no drivers for GeForce 7300 on the toshiba Web site. So I need drivers for SATA HDD and GeForce 7300. Where can I find them?
    Thank you.

    Hello

Why must you SATA XP drivers? You are not able to install XP because the HARD drive is not visible?

With regard to the nVidia drivers:
It seems that the A200 notebooks were shipped with a different hardware configuration.
Some laptops come with the Intel GPU and some with nVidia graphics card.
The Intel GPU driver is available on the Toshiba page.

Graphic driver nVidia can be downloaded from the site Web of Toshiba Canada or 3rd sites like www.omegadrivers.net or www.laptopvideo2go.com

    You are the very welcome.

Your template probably does not come with Intel smart technology that's why the driver was not installed connection.

I'm surprised that the Intel graphics driver failed because the two laptops have the Intel 4600.

No worries... this graphic driver works.

    https://downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23714&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit) * & DownloadType = 0a % 09% 09% 09% 09% 09% 09% 09Drivers % 0 a 09 09% 09% 09% 09% 09

Now what is the unknown device, usually that's the one that is missing the driver...

If this isn't the driver you need, I need to display the hardware for the unknown device ID.

Use this guide as an example of how to get to the window for the unknown device device ID.

    Hey everybody,

I recently bought a HP Pavilion DV6-6c38TX and decided to wipe and upgrade them with a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate.

I tried the drivers (Intel and Ralink) of the support page for the laptop and yet it still won't install.

I'm fairly certain that the WIFI adapter is an Intel one, but could someone point me in the direction of the right driver!

As this is a new laptop which was released only recently, it is difficult to find appropriate elsewhere help so any help is greatly appreciated!
