  Hi all

  I am the proud owner of a model of satellite U400-11U PSU40E running with Windows Vista.
  Recently, I tried to view a video on my TV. To do this, I used the HDMI output of the laptop connected to the TV.

  I took care to connect the cable to the TV and only after to the laptop.
  Then use the quick access key (Fn + F5), poster image on the TV.
  Unfortunately, there was no noise.

  After some googling, I discovered that I needed to activate the HDMI audio output via the control panel of the sound.
  Unofrtunatly, when viewing, I have found no output Audio HDMI, but only speakers and another exit (whose name I forgot--sorry).

  I tried to update the video and HDMI audio drivers (I noticed that there is a HDMI audio driver in the perpipherals system, which was considered 'work' of Vista), but it changed nothing.

  So, what can I do to activate the audio output over HDMI?

  You will find an instruction how to solve this problem... it s about Qosmio G30 but I think it should work on U400 too...

  The point is that you must set the S/PDIF audio output by default!

  And don t forget to RESTART the laptop after the change was made.

• Satellite U400-11U - no sound when using the headset

  get a Toshiba Satellite U400 (u400-11u) with Vista installed and on first use all nice work and I have never tried the headphones, but after sometimes, when I put on the headphones Jack connector there no sound only when I put on the plug connector, the speaker works.

  I learn that I have to update my BIOS and I did: no solution, there is no sound, so I change to XP SP3 some problem and now I'm with Windows 7 with a few problems.
  So if you have information about this problem, please give'it for me!

  Have you tried to test with another helmet? Maybe your neadphones's MUTE switch. Please check this box.

  I have a laptop Satellite A200-1CR. I can't find any technical info on the toshiba homepage.
  I registered my laptop, when I click on properties of my notbook, become after messsage:
  "I'm sorry, but this product is not available in your region."

  I can't find it in the A200 list too. (over 15 models without my 1CR)
  My problem is that I don't know the settings of my laptop. I didn't ' know how can I upgrade without this info. For example, chipset, cpu, max FSB socket, etc.

  I have a Satellite M40 - YP3 (PSM40C-YP300E) that does everything it s supposed to do, except on the screen. A repairman told me that the graphics card is not good and because it is part of the motherboard, the motherboard should be replaced.

  The motherboard is a # V000051800. Is there another model Toshiba that will use the same motherboard, or screen of this model is compatible with another model?

  I would like to get another card compatible mother for this computer or take the pieces out of this computer and put them on another.

  the biggest model in the 2800 series was delivered with a 30 GB HARD drive. But I think you can try a 40 or 60 GB HARD drive.
  The bad news is that I can not promise you, since the machine is a pentium platform 3 and I Don t really know what size they discs can be...

  The safest way is to buy an external USB HARD drive and just put the data on it, but that's just my opinion... ;)

  I'm looking for Toshiba common Modules for Windows XP for Satellite U400-218 PSU44E. Spent a lot of time without results.

  Check section driver Toshiba on the European driver page and there is no common Modules available for one of the U400 series.
