  There are two types of language packs, MUI (multi-language User Interface) and the LIP (Language Interface Pack).

  The MUI 100% of the interface to another language and 80% of the most commonly used parts of the interface changed LIP.

  The MUI language packs can alter the 35 parent languages in another language of Parent. The MUI language packs are available only in Business Edition or ultimate edition of Windows 7. The LIP language packs can be installed on any edition of Windows 7. The MUI and LIP are freely available.

  The LIP language packs cannot change a parent to another parent language. These are only available for the languages located in countries where there is a large population that speaks a language different from the language related to this country. An example is the Spain where there is a LIP in the dialect of Basque language or Venetian.

  As simplified Chinese and English are the two languages of parent, you must upgrade to the Windows 7 Ultimate version to be able to change the language to English.

  I use Windows Vista Home Premium on a Sony VAIO VGN - SR 190.  When I went to shut down my computer today (13 May 2009), I clicked on the icon that said he was going to install updates and then turn off the computer.  I did this several times in the past without problem.  Now the computer screen showed 'Installing Update 1 of 5...' for the last 3 hours.  This set of updates does take really too long?  Is there's something screwed up with my computer and I turn it off manually, how that will affect the update?  Will my jet computer when I turn it back on?  Thanks for any help on this!

  Thanks a lot for all of your helpful information.  I finally just manually turned off the computer, restarted, then clicked on the icon that says this install updates and then turn off the computer, and this time it worked fine.  It is not uncommon for my computer display the 'Shutting Down' and never stop (in this case), so it was probably the same is going on here except that Vista tried to install updates.  Thanks again for your help.

  I think it would be fair to say that a LOT of users here would be as a simple guide step by step on how to install XP and drivers on the Satellite L300 series. I had a lot of trouble with that and I do in my profession. I decided to go on Google to see if it was just me or there are others in the same situation. I (finally) installed XP on a Satellite L300-12I, so IT IS possible, after more than all of the obstacles ahead.

  I think it would be an idea to write an article for this and simply link users to the article, rather than everyone that recur again and again.

  This is not to cause friction or what not, just, I think it would be useful on both sides if that were to happen.
