  In addition, open the memory compartment. On this series of models, you should find the motherboard part number stencil there under the modules. The service manual is not totally reliable to order replacement parts, I found. Good luck.

  Each laptop model needs a unique motherboard, manufactured and released for certain model of laptop.
  If you use google and search card mother G30, then you will get several pages which provide this part.

  The motherboard is one of the expensive parts for laptop and a new motherboard would cost a small fortune! It's so maybe a second hand Council would be a better option
  Why you n t search in Ebay for a 100 of second hand or second hand Board?

  However, if you want to buy a new motherboard, I recommend you with ASP (certified partner) in your country. These guys could order the new motherboard at the Toshiba.

  In the past, I bought two mothers used on eBay. Otherwise, you must use the Google search and try to find an online store where you can order these repaired or used motherboards.

  Or will contact the ASP in your country for a new compatible but it is a very expensive solution because the MB is one of the cost elements for laptop.

  You are going to buy a new motherboard that cost a small fortune or you try to perform a search on the popular auction site for a second hand Equium A60 (Satellite A60) or second hand motherboard.

  All parts and also the new motherboard can be ordered from the ASP in your country.
  Technicians could directly control this part of the Toshiba.

  So it s you the choice now ;)

  Well, I found a motherboard only for Satellite A60-126. It s an OEM factory direct system / motherboard - 256 MB Mem 90 watts TV-Out Part number: V000040870.

  I m not 100% sure if this part is compatible with A60 - 123. I suggest to ask ASP for the name of the motherboard. I m sure that the service partner can help you.

• Satellite P30 - need motherboard used

  I have a P30 which is about 2-3 years and since then 2-3 months was cut without warning. Thinking it was an overheating issue. I took it to the whingers who cleaned the vents etc. which seem to have a limited effect, but it was OK for a while.

  There are 2 weeks, it shut down and since then I can't restart like there is no power to the computer. I had checked wires and they are ok and it was suggested that the motherboard may have "gone" bearing in mind that is the cost of a new computer £800.

  Can anyone suggest if I can get a new / used m/Board, P30 used (to transfer the hard drive) or other options? Expect the worst but good I live in hope!

  You can get the motherboard on two tracks. Either order you by the Toshiba authorised service provider or you need to find an independent electronic store where you can order.

  Both ways can be a bit complicated. If you order by Toshiba, you must give them old mainboard and to find another place is probably not so easy.

  someone gave me a computer with some virus on it. I want to wipe the hard drive and install xp. Here's the question-have I need motherboard cd (which I don't have) for installation? or can I just put the xp cd in and then finished?

  (it is a different computer from my other post).

  You can install XP from installing XP, but you need to maybe go online with another computer and download the network drivers (put it on a USB key) and install those first. From there, you can do just that with the new PC. You can visit the Web site of the manufacturers of drivers for everything.

  Most, if not all, stuff on the CD are available online. It's just get online which can be the first hurdle.
