Installation installation Fax

I try to install the installation of fax on my computer but Microsoft recognized that there is a problem that requires the "I386" folder I think not enough confidence to follow the fix suggested by Microsoft - due to lack of knowledge. Is there an easier way to allow my computer to use all the available functions

Hello

In my opinion the best solution is what is recommended by Microsoft. If you're not confident enough is he a friend of you who can help you solve this problem.

    Hello

    1. have you done any change in software on the computer lately?
    2. are you able to install other applications and programs successfully?

Check to see if the problem exists in Safe Mode, if the computer works as expected in mode without failure, then we can solve the problem in the clean boot state. There is an application which is set to start when you start the computer and which launches the installer of Windows.

I installed a Canon printer and installed an update about it (FAX) on 10 times that he says was a "successful installation".  Then I run the update again, and it appears again as an optional installation.  Why?

  • Printer installation problem. Watch is printers and fax machines, but does not print

I had to move my printers due to a collapse of the motherboard.   I moved my HP DeskJet 710C from a computer (under XP SP3, through LPT1:, where he was part of a network home and works very well) to another computer, also under XP SP3 on the same network, but who doesn't have a printer port.   I replace the cable with a USB printer and I tried to install if via a port USB001 printer.   The machine seems to install the printer (manually - it is not automatically find) and it shows in the printers and Faxes folder.   However, it does not print.   Any document disappears into the other, is not listed as a document to print, but it does not reach the printer.    I did everything I can find listed on the HP web site and run the FixIt program nothing works.   A search for network printers, are looking for a printer, provides a list, of which some are listed as invalid.   I think that I had uninstalled to printers to my computer until I tried to install this printer.   Now, I wonder if these "invalid" entries are mucking up of my installation.   How can I remove 'Invalid printer' names in my list of installed printers.   It seems in any simple way.

I have my sure others must have had similar problems, but I can't find it on the net.

    Any help would be welcome.

    Thank you, Tom,.

I have found no useful HP support. They seem to only want to buy a new printer, but if I can't install my old I'll be able to install a new one? Or > when you think that you download using them, you actually download scanning for the third-party driver software, which has then finds all kinds of driver problems > and wants you to pay to get them replaced or updated.

This isn't HP; That's the scammers try to sell you anything for an exorbitant price.

As the computer receives automatic updates from Microsoft and works well otherwise, I do not trust software that detects problems everywhere in my machine. Or am I > stupid? Or is it driver/driver scanner software update that you can trust?

Most of the pilot sites is not trustworthy. I used Device Doctor and found useful. There no drivers to download IIRC; It just tells you that drivers must update and where to find them. Here is an article on this subject (and no, that Thomas is not me):
    http://mintywhite.com/software-reviews/maintenance-software/device-doctor-totally-free/

I'm still a little worried about 'Invalid printer' entries in my system network and feel that if I could get rid of them, I could make progress. When I try > print (via USB connection) my wireless network camera flashes with enthusiasm, typical activity out via the wireless network. The file is certainly went > somewhere, because it is more listed as a document to print.

What printer you put as a default? This should be where the printed document (Word of the device - expected :-)).

Sometimes, manually expand *.dl_ to *.dll files works... but not always (use the Expand command in a command prompt window or run msconfig to develop files).

  • HP FAX 1240: Installer HP FAX 1240

I inherited a HP 1240 FAX machine; I would like to print a test report automatic printer.

It has ink cartridges installed and loaded paper tray.  When I plug in and put on it displays "initializing." then "phone number".  If I get a phone number or not, when I press the button 'OK' or 'Setup' I hear 3 rapid beeps and nothing happens.  I can't find where this is discussed in the manual or the power supply.

Maybe I need to be connected to a telephone line and this is the number of this line.

    HI @JRF1,

I see you are using the HP 1240 Fax Machine. It is a basic fax, not a printer.

The document that I have proposed, a lot of information about configure the fax machine for use.  She was supposed to be in a general way, I didn't want to create confusion.

This fax machine requires an active telephone line, otherwise it is of no use to you.

Please plug the phone line into the fax to continue.

Also, I assume that the machine will beep because it is occupied "initialization". During the installation process it will be not fully functional, up to the completion.

Have you tried to install new cartridges of ink in there? Ensure that the plastic with pink tab strip is removed, before inserting it into the printer or initialization will not end. It will remain in this mode.

Other issues, such as a jam paper or traffic Jam can be to stop this process.

    Hi ElizabethAdams,

    1. you have fax connected to the computer?

    2. what Windows Update has been installed on the computer?

If you have not connected to the computer fax or you don't want to not use it, I suggest you uninstall all software and drivers related to the fax on the computer.

If the previous step is not enough, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

  • HP LJ 1536 dnf MFP: 1536 Fax installation issues

I'm on a land line telephone CentruyLink. The line comes out of the wall in the 1536 and comes out on a phone. Is there another phone connected to this line in my house.

The FAX is set to automatic and two rings. Using the test HP Fax number, the phone rings, I answer, I get the FAX noise, hang up and the FAX is printed.

BUT when I telephone number using my cell phone, it rings, I pick-up and cell phone noise Telec.

This use to work properly, but now I'm having trouble. I spoil the putting in place or is there something wrong with the Fax/printer? Or maybe Qwest did something for the line.

    Hey @DanielF,

Thanks for getting back to me on this subject.

When you use a phone line shared with your fax, phone and answering machine you would have normally established for the answering machine takes first.  You want the fax machine must be set to answer 2 rings after the answering machine. With this configuration, you would be able to receive faxes, answer messages and telephone calls on a phone line. When you will be sent a fax that is generally a good rule to have the person who sends the fax call you in advance to give you just a heads-up that the fax will be sent to you. In this way, when the fax is sent you just listen to the answering machine pick it up after 5 or 6 rings. Fax answering tuned and if fax tones are detected the fax answer. If you're not home you will still be able to receive faxes and answering machine messages.

If you prefer this Setup, please follow the steps below to configure you fax.

Step 1: Set the answer Mode:

    1. Click on the button Setup (key) on your printer
    2. Right arrow to Fax Setup and select OK
    3. Select OK in the basic configuration
    4. Right arrow for Answer Mode and select OK
    5. Right arrow for TAM and select OK.

Step 2: Set up the rings before answer:

    1. Click on the button Setup (key) on your printer
    2. Right arrow to Fax Setup and select OK
    3. Select OK in the basic configuration
    4. Right arrow for rings to answer
    5. You will be able to set this to 1 ring to 9 rings. Remember, this must be set to 2 rings higher then your answering machine. If your answering machine picks up suite 5, set the rings to answer on your fax to 7. If your answering machine picks up suite 6, set the rings to answer on your fax to 8. The difference of the 2 ring will allow your printer enough time to 'listen' to the answering machine and raise the fax if fax on the line.

Please also define Mode of fixed STOP error and fax (V29) at Slow speed in accordance with the instructions in my previous post.

Please let me know if the steps I provided work for you. Good luck!

    Hi @MSS1,

Thank you for reaching out to the forums! I understand that you are having problems of fax. I'd love to help you.

It's not like you can fax it to the PC with the software for this model. You would have to send and receive faxes from the printer.

This document provides steps for not being able to fax and it also provides information for the connection to the fax: can't send or receive faxes. Do not take into account the title.

I have provided the user manual of the printer to set up the fax, beginning on page 62: Photosmart C7280.

Here is a document to receive faxes: receipt of the Fax.
