Need Quick Time with first Elements 9?

I just downloaded and installed the trial version of the first Elements 9.  At the end of the installation, a message popped up that Quick Time is needed for some formats (for example, MOV).

However, apparently, Quick Time is therefore more an Adobe product - I can't find it on Adobe's Web site.

What is the solution?

I ran Preimere Elements 9 without Quicktime installed. PrE9 works fine until I want to import or export to Quicktime formats or use SmartSound Quicktracks.

On a positive note, the menus photoshop.com more disk that are more accessible to users of Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 are now available first items 11 and 12 as part of disc menus provided with the program.

  • Editing with first Elements 10 proxy

I just read a great post on how to change proxy with version 7 to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/390600?tstart=0, but I can't find a way to save a preset with first Elements 10 so I could then change it to display the previews in low resolution and output in full HD. The online help for the program mentions 'creation' presets, but then only described how do to slelect existing presets. Can someone tell me how to do a new project built-in, or better yet, if there is an integrated proxy method alter with 10? Thank you!

    jjenkinsnm

What you see is normal. I do not see a flaw in it... by the book.

Your preset is correct and is set to match the properties of your media source (1080 p @ 29.97 progressive frames per second).

Thus, you shouldn't get a Redline on this content when it is moved to deadlines as the first brake on this chronology. In fact, you shouldn't see any coloured on line. And, what you just wrote, you have no red line on your first drag the contents of the timeline.

But, once you change the video clip in any way on the timeline, no line colored does not become a red line on the status of content. The consequences of this being, the program telling you that you no longer have the best possible overview when this content is read in the Edit Mode monitor. Thus, return you the timeline to get the best overview the program can give. When the timeline is rendered, this red line passes to the green to tell you that the program gives you the best overview. Then continuation (no more back to the no colored line to tell you your preview is the best, now it of a... red red/green indicator system, are looking for timeline made better overview and green you have found the best overview.)

So far, so everything is normal.

After that all that is said and done, this phase of troubleshooting seems to indicate that you are OK.

Now the important question and answer which must be placed forward to check...

    a. is the reading of your progressive 1080 p @23.97 images made by jerky of a second after the return of the timeline?

    b. is so is your problem in the preview? Or the problem is going to export the product, as well as the timeline preview?

    Thanks for the follow-up.

  • Burning issue with first Elements 9

I made a cinematic slideshow in first Elements 9 and I wanted to then burn it to a DVD.  He reached 99%, then I got this message:

    .\Vobulator\BlockPlanner\BlockPlanner.cpp,line215

The DVD is ejected without completing the burning process.  What should I do?

The audio in the preview works perfectly with the menus. The video plays slowly and is a bit slow and sort of stalls, but the sound continues to play very well.

Just to make sure I'm on the same page as you, here we are talking about video in the Menus, right? These would be animated Menus and have both a video "background" and also Audio.

If that is correct, I have some questions and he has not seen the up-thread answers.

What is the format/CODEC the video background Motion?

Its duration is that of the Audio match perfectly? If this isn't the case, I would say that you do this either by editing the video file to match the Audio, or vice versa. I would keep this time< 30="" sec,="" but="">

To make the animated Menus, it's my workflow:

    1. I have create a new sequence in PrPro, where you create a new project in pre.
    2. Import my video & Audio.
    3. Drag each to the timeline
    4. Change less than 30 s, as it should. Note: This is where I set my Audio levels and as for Menu music be ~-12 to-18 dB, but I put those in the ear, with only a glance to my meters. I don't like strong Menu Audio, because I believe it should be nothing else than background.
    5. Export/Share to the elementary streams, i.e. a DV - AVI file in one video and a PCM/WAV Audio file only to 16-bit 48 kHz. Note: I'm on a PC, so these exact REBS. are for the PC. On a Mac, one would choose MOV and probably a CODEC like Animation, but always make the elementary streams, the MOV has no Audio - it would be only the video stream.
    6. Then back in the draft, where I intend to use those, simply import and use for my Menu animated backgroun and Audio

Not sure how this workflow will work for you, but it will eventually create Menus very similar to those of the library, even though Adobe may well have changed their video to something like MOV format, especially since the pre went X-platform with PrE 9. Again, the app creation with PrPro, Adobe went from WMV for video to M2v, from PrPro/Encore CS3, assets when PrPro/still go X-platform. Yet, on a PC, nothing works better than a DV - AVI video only that corresponds to the Menu (and the project, where the Menu is used) in both the pixel x pixel (proportions) dimensions and also in the (Pixel Aspect RATIO), which determines if a Standard 4:3 and widescreen, 16:9. If I still use it, where everything is done "by hand", the modules of this program are the same as those before, and I've never had problems.

I found that if I feed creation program just what he wants and needs, and taking any supplement treatment charge out of it, things work better. Matter of fact, even though I do not always animated Menus, but always have music on them, I've never had a mistake for years. So far, things have always worked perfectly and hope they do for you also.

Good luck and please keep us updated on your progress.

  • Quickly graduated from first Elements 8 - not suitable for HD - comments?

After some more research today, I think having an idea about what is happening with my system running first Elements 8.

First system Configuation is less than 3 weeks old:

    Windows 7-64 bit professional

    EVGA X 58 Classified MoBo

    CPU i7-950 (no OC'ed)

    12 GB Tri-channel RAM (1600)

    Graphics NVIDIA Quadro 1800

500 GB logical drive 1 (including 2xOCZ SSD 256 GB SSD in RAID 0)

600GB logical drive 2 (including 2xWD VelociRaptor 10KRPM drive HARD 300 GB in Raid 0)

    1.0 TB Physical Drive 3 for the backup of 1 & 2 (including 1 - WD 7200 RPM drive)

I custom configured specifically to run the video processing and photo.  I worked with photos for years and just now to enter full HD 1920 x 1080 video with my Canon 5 d - M2 and new VIXIA HFS100 Cancorder.

My bench is very fast and he's great in Photoshop CS4 managing several images of my Canon 5 d - M2.  Batch processing, resizing, etc. runs like a dream.  In Windows 7 preformance 'Performance index' the ranks of the 7.5 on CPU, System 7.5 on memory and 7.7 e/s disk off the ladder 7.9, the Nvidia Quadro 1800 only rated 6.7 which is disappointing (one else run this performance eval on their Vista or W7 machine?)  I would be interested to know your scores and what video card you are using) I can experiment with OC soon, but so far I have not seen the need.

Being new montage video I wanted to start out slow and and not invest in a professional level of editing until I knew what would be my real needs, so I bought the Premiere Elements 8.0 to get said.  I also when in the course of training complete which is available on LYNDA.COM.  Which is great BTW!  Then to produce an HD video to 'professional' looking for a recent vacation to Napa Valley with images and photos from my Canon 5 dM 2.

Elements 8 is a nice tool and offers lots of features, but just seemed to have throttled down after the creation of about 4 or 5 minutes of 1920 x 1080 video.  Moving around the timeline, the package would hit the disc each time for re - view the video "icon" clips on the timeline.  I found that after about 4 minutes of video on the timeline, whenever I added a new clip, I had to pause and wait for the system to calm down before editing it.  Also once things started to slow down, usually trying to move a clip around the scenario would result in a complete lock-up (just lost an hour of work).   I was also puzzled at why Elements 8 would hit the disc so much when I had 12 GB of RAM just sitting there with more than 7 GB unused.  It of sad because 8 elements has tools and features I want, just don't have the power.

Well (stupid me) Elements 8 is still only a pack of 32-bit and not use any what RAM beyond 4 GB.  This is in itself explains a lot.  To really use my system to the maximum, I will need to upgrade to a 64-bit - professional level package NLE such as Premiere Pro CS4, Sony Vegas Pro 9 or other.  Now, back to the drawing board to reseach packets to determine what is best for my needs.

Experiences with the 64-bit package?  Recommendations?

    Thank you
    Scott

    function() {return A.apply (null, [this] .concat ($A (arguments)))}

After the first Elements 8 startup screen, I select new project, then the settings of my project as NTSC / AVCHD / Full HD 1080i 30.

Ouch, which cannot be good. You use a preset interlaced, progressive video, and an AVCHD preset at that. I don't know exactly what PrE8 offers choices for your sequence, but you really want to use a preset ofp 30 fps in 1080. In the Premiere CS4 I use HDV 1080 p 30, then look and see if PrE8 has it, or you can create one if you have this flexibility in the elements.

  • Creating a file Image of DVD with first Elements 7?

First Elements 7 has the ability to create an Image of the DVD (ISO) Master file?

I need to create a DVD image of the files to be sent to the partners.

Otherwise, what is a good program to do this?  I need for DVD and Blu - Ray.

    Thank you.

    Ivan,

I don't think he does. Adobe still (the only creation of big brother to this function in pre) is. However, all is not lost. The freeware program ImgBurn can create a. ISO in the DVD folder. You use before burning to the folder, and then run ImgBurn to create the necessary file.

  • Transcoding with first Elements 7 error

I worked with Lightroom and Photoshop Elements, and I now try to use Premiere Elements (7) to create a project of video clips and photos from my Canon DSLR.  I can create a DVD with 11 music videos (although it will not play on my DVD old - ish, right on my computer), but when I add 18 JPEGs (generated from the RAW files), I get a "transcoding" error when I try to burn a DVD.  Even without burning, when I try to preview, stills look extremely low resolution.  Anyway I can get it work?

And please forgive me for saying, but I use Lightroom a lot things a bit, and I have a fairly new 4 GB RAM Dell with plenty of space to NTFS disk and two decades to support professionally.  Given all this, Premiere Elements seems to be a terrible performer - 7 anyway.  It takes an incredibly long time to load and starts flashing shockingly quickly message "out of memory".  A glance on the messages of forum suggests that 8 cannot be an improvement.  Any suggestions on performance?  Lightroom is about lightning quick.

Make sure your photos are optimized to not exceed 1000 x 750 pixels, by the frequently asked questions to the right of this forum?

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/431851?TSTART=0

Photos loading oversized in Premiere Elements is the main cause of the coding and memory errors.

You should also convert the video from your camera, DV - AVI, also by the fair questions, to ensure the proper functioning and transcoding.

  • Need quick help with a vector mask

Hey, I'm going crazy with this seemingly simple task and cannot find the answer on Google. Thanks in advance.

I have a red circle with a white arrow inside/on it. I want to create a vector mask that makes the whole image transparent where the arrow is, as if the red circle is a wall and the white arrow is a window. The rest should just be a red circle with an arrow inside hole. How can I do that using my existing forms?

    Screenshot 2015-09-11 11.16.08.png

    Hello

    It's pretty easy

    merge the two layers

Select the white arrow in the Quick Selection tool and remove this part.

Now, you'll get what you ask.

You can create a copy of both layers first to test this.

  • Had a project done with first elements 11.  All media files and PRE files were in the same folder on an external hard drive.  Received a new computer, loaded first items 11 (which of course doesn't recognize not all previous projects as it is)

Had a project done using first items 11 (the file exported and posted on youtube).  All the media files and PRE files associated with this project were located in the same folder on an external hard drive.  Got a new computer, responsible for first 11 elements (which of course doesn't recognize not all previous projects because it is a new installation) and now cannot open the original project to make some adjustments (connected to the external hard drive of course)...  Even tried to open the last saved auto program as well, no luck.  Just get a shell of the original project, but no real media file is passed in. Then get a prompt asking you where the file "rendering-3090026..." (20 More digits) is located.  Looking for C drive and external hard drive without success. Help!

    delilah12

Which operating systems are involved - old and new?

The external drive has the same drive letter on the new computer as it did when it was used on the other computer?

Where are the video preview and the old led, Audio preview files compared to new? See Edit Menu/preferences/Scratch discs?

Are all the place where is the file... messages just to render files? If all are for rendering files, what happens if you click ignore for their

messages? Can you enter into the project and render it again if necessary and proceed with the project?

Please see the bulletin. With the above information, we will decide which way to go? It seems that a media disconnect situation has developed in

  • editing AVCHD in iMac with first Elements 10

    Hello

I have a sony (Sony HDR-CX305E) camera and I'd like to edit their video files.

I use the format AVCHD, FH 1920 x 1080i, 16 Mbps (.mts files)

My computer is old, and now I think about buying a new computer. I would like to buy an iMac 21.5 "(i5 2, 7GHz, 4 GB of RAM).

    Then, I have 2 questions:

Is it possible to edit these files (.mts, 1920x1080i, 16 Mbps) using the first 10 elements in an iMac? is a good choice buying an iMac in this case?

And, in collaboration with an iMac, it is possible to export the result to an another .mts without quality loss?

    Thank you

You must be very happy with this iMac, JG. It should work fine with version 10!

  • How Pan / Zoom to a section of a picture with first Elements 9?

I'm trying pan/zoom into sections of some pictures, I add to a video... Looks like something that should be easy enough to do, but I can't understand it.  The 'help' posts only in detail how in PrEl 8, which doesn't jive with version 9.  I appreciate any help - thanks!

    Welcome to the forum.

What you're looking for is Keyframing and in this case, apply those two fixed effects, Motion > scale (Zoom) and the movement > Position (Pan).

I find that easier to accomplish in the effect controls panel. Select your still Image Clip on the Timeline. Go to the effects tab and click on change the effects. This will bring up the effect controls panel, and you will see the effects fixed (no effect, that you may have added), movement, Rotation, opacity, and Volume (if there is Audio). In your case, you want to twirl open movement (small triangle), to expose the scale and Position. Keyframing ON switches for each, with the CTI (current time mark) at the head of the still/Clip (first image), then place the CTI where you want the effect Keyframing to complete, say that the maximum Zoom level. Do the same for the Position (Pan).

Steve Grisetti has a good series, Basic Keyframing, on Muvipix.com. Note that the series is for subscribers only, but he alone is worth the subscription. I highly recommend this series. Once you get down the notion of effects of keyframes, a whole new world opens up for them. He is descendant of the concept, which takes a few tries and thinking. All this time will be well spent, as Keyframing is quite possible.

Here's a look at the effects of pre 4.0 Control Panel. It is almost identical to PrE 9:

Good luck and we hope this helps,

  • Can someone help me with first Elements 2?

I worked on a slide show for my son mark. This is the second time I used the PE2 to create a slide show, so I'm not very good at this!  I finished my slideshow (which contains about 100-150 photos, 1 video and audio) I burned a dvd last night, and when I played it back I noticed that the pictures were a little grainy, so I tried to make it. I did this by clicking on "make the box work" under the tab "chronology". Now, I have about 40 blacks 'slides' where the photo was! They are distributed along the timeline - if I click with the right button on the black screen in the timeline and then choose "first edition" I can see the missing photo!  I am supposed to present this to the school tomorrow - I would really appreciate the help.  Thank you!

If you replace the still Images in the Timeline with those optimized, you should back their display. Real Images aren't really in your project, just a link to them on the HARD drive. The scans have not changed in any way. What you see, it is essentially a proxy file, view pre.

Let us know if replacing the stills in the project, with those who put you on the scale correctly, gets things to work.

    Good luck

    Hunt

PS - when you do the scaling in PS or PSE, work ONLY of Copies and do NOT replace the originals with a backup.

  • AVCHD with first Elements 8 video file will not advance or reward

I just finished an AVCHD video project in first 8 and I can't fast forward or rewind the file on my computer with Windows Media Player or Windows Media Center. The file plays great but it's annoying to watch it from beginning to end for 45 minutes.

I have a Vixia HF S20 - the video format of the originals was ACHD. After completing the draft edition, I chose to save it to my PC (a Dell Inspiron 8100 with I5 - so much power awailable) as an MPEG file. I noticed that this format was the one who gave me the possibility to record video in H.264 1920x1080i 30 preset.

The rendering of the video took about 3 hours. He recorded the video in the AVCHD format and playback on my computer screen, it just seems like it should - quality HD - but the lack of controls, it's really, really stupid!

In any case, I need help to understand what is happening here. I did something wrong? Are there other record settings/presets to choose who keep HD quality, I'm not aware of?  Thanks in advance to 1 million!

Well, if you're against WMP, it might be that pre could have done something differently.

Now, I'm not a fan of WMP and not a fan REALLY of RealMedia Player. I compare this one to a Trojan horse, that had to happen. Finally, I had a version about 12 years ago and would never let another close copy one of my computers.

In addition to the two that I mentioned, GOM Player gets high marks, as well.

    Good luck
