  It is strange that you would be rerouted to myidentit portal. This is usually to check the status of student. Is your CS3 version education? Also, are you sure that you enter a serial number or is it possibly a redemption code? Redemption codes are used when you buy software from a third party reseller. They are generally alphanumeric and entered once to get your serial number, which counts only. I ask because the entry of a redemption code could take you the myidentit portal to check the status of education, but a serial number should not do that.

  I would recommend going on suggestions in this help document to see if you can check/retrieve your serial number: find the serial number of your product Adobe quickly. I know that you said you don't remember your account details, but maybe you can make a guess to this e-mail you used 10 years ago. Your e-mail address = your Adobe ID, and you can use it to to sign in-Adobe ID to get the serial number.

  I doubt that it is doesn't matter wherever you can go in person with the discs and the box to get the serial number. Once again, if you bought CS3 from a retailer, the numbers on the packaging are probably redemption codes, and you must go through the steps to quickly find the serial number of your Adobe product. If you purchased directly from Adobe and the numbers are indeed a serial number, you should be able to enter it when prompted during installation without a redirect to myidentit.

  By the way, since you do not have a CD drive on the new computer, you can download CS3 directly and install it: products download Adobe Creative Suite 3. Make sure you download the correct version you have (IE. CS3 Design Standard, not one of the other links). Your serial number will work for the suite that you have purchased.

  Finally, Szalam is right that CS3 may not work on the new Mac operating system, which is El Capitan. CS3 is nearly 10 years old and has not been tested on modern operating systems. That said, it is worth it, especially for us poor cash flow types.

  If there are letters in the code so it is not a serial number.  Serial numbers have 24 numbers (6 groups of 4 digits).  You can be a redemption code which is what allows you to purchase a serial number - usually if you buy in a store or other third party affiliates.
