  I have several application that writes a file of text defined in a file share.  Another application, not a LabVIEW application then reads the delimited text file.  When my application is creating or writing to the file text delimited, is there a way to manipulate the permissions so that no other application can read the file at the same time, I am writing to you in the file?  I can do this in Visual Basic through the FileShare (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.io.fileshare(v=vs.110).aspx) option during the creation of filestream, but I don't see this option in LabVIEW.  Thank you.

  Hello - I have a javascript function defined on Page 0 of my application. It is in the source of an unconditional

  I call successfully the function of event onchange on individual page elements. (The function
  sets the value of an element based on the value of another).
  
  But I also need to call the function when the page is loaded. The page is a form of data modification,
  so many values is filled when it is loaded, and I need the dependent values populated
  also.
  
  I tried to add the call to function in the following way. It is not at all get called (alerts are not forthcoming)
  and there is no error in the Firefox error console...
  - as an event onload in individual items
  -call directly to the edit HTML page header
  -call directly from the HTML body of the edit page (which, from what I've read, sounds
  as to execute onload and my page template doesn't have a defined substitution onload string).
  
  In these 2 cases, I simply call it like: jsLookupValue ($v ("P8_OBJECTTYPE_ID"), "objecttype_id", "P8_OBJECTTYPE_NAME", "objecttype_name", "hdb_objecttype");

  It is an interesting situation for me. My apologies to simplify the introduction to the problem.
  
  It's easy when I met data from the table, a table, you have your descriptive data (Look up table)... Name of the product, the Transaction name,..., etc and you have a related table with the digital data in it (Table of facts),..., sales, cost, margin,... etc.
  
  Of course when the table with digital data in it breaks down further than the table with descriptive data. The solution is simple. Simply summarize you the data grouping in the descriptive table of digital data.
  
  ... Ok. Sorry about all this. Now, here's my problem...
  
  I have a situation where my table (get) descriptive data breaks down further than digital data in my table of facts. I know there is no way to summarize the data of type string, but I need a way to report the values in my eyes to the top of the table on the same line as the digital data cell associated with TWO or MORE look for rows in the table.
  
  I bet that this is not the first time that it has produced in the history of the RDBMS, so I think there must be a methodology out there somewhere to handle this situation.
  
  I think the final result will be something like; concatenate the descriptive data in the description cell that will be reported next to the digital data on the same line. I just need to know what the official solution, when it exists. There must be. Or at least a clever work around...
  
  Does anyone know what it is or how to handle this? Even more, is there a formal name for this kind of situation?

• Setting the default value when a def type strict

  If my Subvi has a control that is be a strict type defined cluster and I saved values in the control as the values by default, how can I change the default values in the type definition (which is empty).  Because this is a strict definition of type, I can't click on items within the cluster and change (for example, click on a table inside the cluster and make an empty array operation.)

  In the attached screenshot, control 'WHEAT meters to Test' is just an array of bunches and I was able to clear the Board.  Control "Data of Capture" is a strict type def.  I want to erase the contents of this control without having to remove the control and add it back with a new instance of the same type strict FED.

  Yes the clusters within the strict type def cluster are also type defs and control over this Subvi is the only place where the default values are in clusters because they have been registered as default values for the control when I was doing developer test on the VI.  All real .ctl files have default values default to them.

  I just realized that even if the objects inside the strict type def cannot be selected with the mouse, right-click operation still works and the values can be modified or deleted.  I don't think I need more help with this problem.

  I would like to know if there is a way to make a single control (either a ring or other) where a string that is displayed to the user has a string in its output value.

  For example, I have a power laser with a serial port and the command to turn on the laser diodes is LASER1;

  I want to display the 'LIGHTS ON' string to the user, but that control to provide 'LASER1' value when selected.

  It's easy to do with two controls, for example, can I have an enumeration with the display of the user strings and an enum with the chains of command of the laser, but then I have to make sure any changes affect the two controls.

  If it's a single control, it is less likely to be a mistake when a change is made.

  Any help is greatly appreciated.
