network cards 10 gbE for R410

The Dell Intel X 520 DP PCIe network 10GbE (Dell P/N 540 - BBDW or 540-BBDR) are listed as being compatible with the R420 and R430 but it will also work in a R410?

Otherwise, what is the recommended 10 gbE card for the R410 with SFP interfaces +?

Thanks in advance for any guidance,

Andy

Hello

This map is not posted but probably will work fine. The map that is being validated is the Y3KJN part number, but it is a single port.

  • Determine good network card PCI bus for Service Console?

Are the bus PCI in hexadecimal or decimal?

I ask because I put the Service Console on the bad NIC (0b.00.00) and I want to know which is the NIC low to move it to.

    I have the following:

Card internal Broadcom: 03.00.00 and 05.00.00 - I want these to become vmic0 and vmnic1

Map external Intel: 0b.00.00 and 0b.00.0 - I want these to become vmic3 and vmnic4

Am I right that 03.00.00 is the bus PCI NIC plus small number?

Once I know that, I'll add this 03.00.00 vmnic to the current SC vSwitch reassign SC him then remove the other vmNIC to it.

In addition, how is it possible to re - assign vmnic numbers to different network adapters?

Say vmnic0 is on the NIC 0b.00.00 and I really want to vmnic0 on 03.00.00, how do I do? -command and syntax?

    Thank you, Tom

Yes, 03:00 is the smallest address PCI - 05:00's next, b 0:00: #'s next - his numbered in hexadecimal - you can reinstall ESX and select the correct network adapter or you can check out here how to renumber - http://vmware-land.com/Vmware_Tips.html#Net4

  • Network card for CentOS 7 VM and VM tools

    Hello

We use ESXi 5.1 update 3 and in the middle of the putting in place of a CentOS VM 7.

VMware KB, it is recommended to use "Open VM Tools" that accompanies the Image ISO of Linux.

On the other hand, some colleagues mentioned to install "VMware Tools" to use the VNXNET3 adapter.

Just would like to ask your advice, what VM tools and network card are recommended for CentOS 7.

    Thanking you in anticipation.

You don't have to install one of them using the vmxnet3 adapter. Its pilot is a part of since 2.6.32 kernel tree and actively maintained. 'Tools' (open, or VMware) allows you to cleanly stop VM of ESXi host. But if everything you are looking for is a way to use vmxnet3, you don't need them...

  • Call "HostNetworkSystem.UpdateVirtualSwitch" for the error of the object when you attempt to add the second NETWORK card

Hi there - first post here, so please be nice :-).

We are just trying to place an ESX4.1 own deployment in our environment (no previous installation of VMWare) to our main office, using Dell M610 and blades blades M600 to what would become our DR - two sites site hosting VMS on Equallogic iSCSI SAN disks.

I configured 4 of our blade M610 with ESX 4.1 successfully and they work very well.  These blades have double NIC onboard, and after the initial installation of ESX, I could go to the virtual switch and add in the second NIC like vmnic1 (because one had already been detected during installation).  This fine workd for 4 guests on the M610 blades.  However, I came today to make my first installation on one of the old M600 blades and I encountered a problem.

Installation went without any problems and I was able to add the host in my vCenter.  I can change all the settings without problem (created the Port of VMKernal for my connection to SAN iSCSI etc, but as soon as I try to add in the second NETWORK card, he paused for a while, and then I get the following error message:)

Call 'HostNetworkSystem.UpdateVirtualSwitch' of object 'networkSystem-56 "on vCenter Server"VCEN01." ournetwork.local"failed. (network name has been changed for post).  When this happens, it locks up again for several seconds, and when the system returns, I can no longer communicate with the ESX host (Observer of events in vCenter watch 'host is not responding' and I find that I can not ping the host unless I reboot it.)

If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it that I don't want to proceed down to the line with our Installer if theres an underlying issue and I need to redo everything.

    Concerning

    EFIN.

Do you get the same error when you try to add the network adapter by using the command line?

    1. esxcfg-vSwitch - L vmnic1 vSwitch0

  • 2 connection of network cards

I installed VMware Player on a Windows XP host with 2 physical network interfaces.

How can I bind each virtual network interface to a guest WHAT VM configured with 2 interfaces virtual network to a different physical network of the host computer interface?

    Concerning

    Marius

Run the editor of the virtual network (vmnetcfg.exe) - located in the folder of the player.

Disable the automatic bypass.  On the next tab, specify which physical NETWORK card to fill for the swtich VMnet0. specify the other physical NETWORK card to the bridge to one of the unused VMnet cheating (2-7, 9).

If you want that your virtual machine to use the first NETWORK card, select mode bridged; the second, select custom and specify the VMnet option to use.

  • Choose a specific NETWORK card in VCB Proxy?

Hi, I have VMware Consolidated Backup installed on a VCB Proxy with two network adapters. A NIC goes to the switch for iSCSI box, and the other NETWORK adapter goes to the general network switch. How can I specify which NETWORK card to use?

Here's the problem I have, is that, without the "nbd m" option is specified, it gives me an error:

"vcbMounter" 1784 error] error: could not open the drive: cannot access the SAN/iSCSI LUN support this virtual disk.

However, if I use the "nbd-m" option, VCB can see the iSCSI and do a backup very well. However, it does so through the NETWORK adapter connected to the general network and not through the NETWORK adapter go to the iSCSi switch. If I don't have the two switches are connected, it does not at all. This seems to be a waste of bandwidth to send the backup through two switches traffic.

Is there a way to specify which NETWORK card to use for backups in VCB?

    TIA-danno

If your VMFS volumes are on an iSCSI array and you don't have any iSCSI HBAs in your VCB proxy, you must have Microsoft iSCSI initiator installed. Once you have installed, you must ensure that your VMFS volumes are exposed to the initator on the VCB proxy, so you can mount them. In the iSCSI initiator parameters, you can specify the IP source (NIC) on the server to use to connect to the iSCSI target.

Hope that helps! Please, help me by marking my response as "useful" or "correct", if you feel it is useful!

  • 10G and switch network cards virtual configs

It will move in a new data center that has a capacity of 10G up to the switches in the baskets.  In our current environment of 1 G, we have seven network cables (6 for ESX) and 1 for the remote management of the server.  If we move to 10G we could cut the cables up to two for ESX and remote management.

Our current Setup uses a vSwitch for the console, another vSwitch VMotion and private traffic and a third for public traffic.  Each of the three vSwitches has two network adapters physical, assigned to the redundancy.

If we go with NIC 10 G in the new data center then of course we have only a single virtual switch with two network cards in 10G for redundancy.  I wouldn't have the isolation we have currently with three virtual switches, but given that we're going to use VLAN exclusively in the new data center I don't see a problem.

Any thoughts on the advantages or disadvantages?  Of course, we will follow the HCL to select a network adapter. 10G compatible

I think that the reason why many customers today use more than 2 x Gigabit connections is mainly for reasons of security rather than the problems of bandwidth (FT could introduce a little challenge and you could use the same pair or a dedicated third party adapter if you are really concerned for VMotion).

I wrote about this concept a little back: http://it20.info/blogs/main/archive/2007/10/30/75.aspx

This hour IB seemed to be the best placed to do this today I think there is a consensus that it's the way things are going to be built... but using 10 Gbit (harmonised rules ethernet - which also includes storage traffic).

Back to your point I don't think that, in General, a simple increase in bandwidth will solve magically all the segmentation/security concernd that led us to dispose of separate network cards of 6-8-10-22. VLAN / exchanges have been around for a long time and their implementation (or lack of theorof) on the host ESX has been achieved through physical segmentation rather than raw bandwidth concerns. This may be different for you (good for you).

This will change with Enhanced segmentation/QoS features added to Ethernet protocol to join this converged network that talks about Cisco.

    My 0.0002 cents.

    Massimo.

I use my laptop at home for about 8 months now and decided to downgrade from Windows 8 for Windows 7 Home Edition. This was done due to the frustrating nature of Windows 8 etc. I was able to start my CD and install Windows 7 but can't connect to the wireless network. Router is as well as all other smart devices use. I get an error message saying that my network card is missing.

My, that's quite a list you have there.

    OK... by the numbers...

First, install the chipset driver and restart. The first file listed. Install the SMBus and USB 3 controllers.

If you need graphics driver, run the AMD Mobility Radeon driver verification tool to the link below and it should find the correct graphic driver for the graphics card in your notebook.

Install the graphics driver second (just after the chipset driver) and reboot.

    Hi mate,

I think that you should look for the Toshiba WLAN drivers WLAN Portal:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Normally you will find all the drivers for wireless network cards in all laptops Toshiba so it s worth a try! ;)
Moreover, what WLAN card you have exactly?

  • Satellite M100 - driver for network card does not work

    Hello

I have a problem with my Satellite M100. I downloaded all the drivers from the Toshiba Web site but for the network card, I can't find it works well!
Tried to download from the site Intel, as suggested by the other mailing list, but still can not work well!

Can order us a recovery disk with all the drivers for a specific series/model (i.e., Satellite M100)?

    Thank you.

    Hello!

You have yellow excalamation marks in Device Manager?
Normally, if you search on the Toshiba site for your model of laptop you will get a list of the different drivers and then you download the LAN driver.
Also, do you mean the network card or wireless network adapter?

Also, check the number of vendor as Akuma said.
On this site, you can enter the vendor ID number and device. After that, you can find the right driver.

  • Is there a slot for a network card?

I bought a pre - N Router Belkin and got a free network with her card, I think I won't get speeds from the top with the WiFi card built into the laptop is a slot where I can plug in the NIC, I got with the router.

I ask this befor I opened the box I will take if it does not work

Help please far from right, he has to go back today if won't work and it's Sunday so shops close earlier!

    Thank you
    Moneyballs2 (George Day)

    Hi George,.
The network adapter that is supplied with the router is provided in case your computer is not ready for wireless connections.
As you wrote on the forum of Qosmio, consider you have a Qosmio computer. In this case, you don't need to use the NIC (which would be also in the PCMCIA location on the side of your computer).
Once you have installed your new wireless router and active connections wireless on your Qosmio, you go online.
In addition, the Qosmio is equipped with an Intel Centrino processor that is designed for wireless connections. Much better than a network card that you can keep for rainy days or give to a friend whose computer is wireless ready.
    I hope this helps.

  • Network card for my HP Mini110 Installer

Good afternoon! Please help me with my problem. I have reformat my HP mini110 with an Intel(r) Atom (TM) CPU N570 @1 processor. 66 GHz Windows 7 starter to Windows 7 ultimate, but to my surprise its network card will not work. Please send me the necessary drivers to make it work. Thank you!

    For his controller Ethernet is the path of the device instance: PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8136 & SYBSYS_1584103C & REV_05\4 & 2COF79A8 & 0 & 00E3

    OFT his network controller, the path of the device instance is: PCI\VEN-14E4 & DEV_4727 & SUBSYS_1483103C & REV_01\4 & EDE306C & 0 & 00ED

    For its video controller, the device instance path is: PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_AO12 & SUBSYS_1584103C & REV_02\3 & 21436425.

Thank you so much in advance.

    Hello

Have you tried to find the drivers for your system from the HP Home:

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/drivers.html

It is usually the same driver used in all versions of Windows 7

or if that fails, you can find drivers for equipment manufacturers Original (OEM) to decode the device ID strings that you provided by visiting here

    http://www.PCIDatabase.com/

This site will link directly to the OEM drivers, or their Web site.

Using this method you will lose features integrated into the version of HP drivers

For your Etehernet card, you can use the 10EC (Realtec) vendor ID or device ID 8136

    For its controller Ethernet is the device instance path: PCI\VEN_10EC& DEV_8136& SYBSYS_1584103C & REV_05\4 & 2COF79A8 & 0 & 00E3

    I hope this helps
