Network connection diagnostic utility?

I've heard of the developers Conference that there is a diagnostic utility for network connection available somewhere on the site of the BlackBerry - application developers device BlackBerry that allows you to test communications by using various network settings. But I can't find such a beast. Does anyone know where it is?

Tom

PS Yes I know, it's like walking into a bookstore and say 'I saw this really interesting book, but I can't remember the title or author. Do you have it? "Yet, I live in hope.

There is the article in the knowledge base, which has a link to download the application code.

  • Print Diagnostic Utility

    Hi all

I recently bought an of Officejet Pro L7380 which is connected to my PC via the USB port.

I have a problem intermittent but frequent where the print job is stuck in the print queue and do not print unless I restart the Officejet. It is very annoying for the Officejet takes forever to initialize.

I found a solution for this problem on the HP site and the first recommended step is to download and install the Print Diagnostic Utility.

However, I'm unable to do what the download link is dead.

    Download the utility anywhere else?

    All responses are greatly appreciated.

    26/04/2012 update:

HP Print Diagnostic Utility (aka "UDA") has been replaced by next generation HP, the HP print and Scan Doctordiagnostic tool.

All the features previously available in the PDU and the utility HP Diagnostic network (aka 'NDU') has been combined with an easy to use, the new HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Get the HP print and Scan Doctor here: www.hp.com/go/tools

Do not forget to leave HP to know how it goes with the new print and Scan Doctor by taking the short survey you will receive when you have finished using the tool.

  • TimeCapsule loses network connection

I have a TimeCapsule (new version of turn 2014) and I noticed that my backups are not being every hour. Utility app showed 'device not found' on the network.  I restarted the time capsule - it connects to the network successfully for about 3 minutes and then "Device Not Found".  I restarted my TimeWarner cable modem then restarted TC even question.  My wifi router is the TimeWarner modem and I have 60MB of speed that I'm guaranteed up to 50MB, so all right from the internet side.

I did a soft reset... same question.  I did a hard reset and used the previous settings - same issue (3 minutes network, and then click device not found a few moments later).  I guess I can do a default network but since absolutely no changes to the network settings have work probably months (7 + months) I don't see why this would happen.  I don't want to lose my entire backup (s) risk is... I have no other way to save my December 2015 MBP.  * Funny, it is the TC network shows, if I hit him "save now" finds TC but TC for 3 minutes then turns off network; However, the backup actually occurs successfully. But will not back up again until I restart then the TC on the network these 2-3 minutes before losing the connection.  Help.

I have a MBP 15 mid-2015 "and capital El v10.11.6.  My TC etc are all up to date on the versions of software too!

Many users have posted on the forum with the same number of "Device not found" in the last days. Looks like almost every new post is about it. This is one of a few minutes there are, for example:

    TimeCapsule loses network connection

Rumor has it that the 10.11.6 recent update is part or all of the problem, according to the opinion.

The "fix" of the day is to disable Back to My Mac in AirPort Utility, that seems to work for users who have helped with my Mac. Of course, you lose functionality when you do this.

No solution yet for users who do not use Back to My Mac, because they cannot turn off something they did not.

Apple is silent, not so much we can do until Apple recognizes that there is a problem (which they are not since yesterday when I spoke to them).

    Stay tuned.

  • M30: Could not find a Local network connection

Hi all, I really hope that someone can help me!
    I had a M30 Windows Home, it comes with a built-in wireless G connection (that's fine).

However whenever I try to access my network via an ethernet cable, I can't find my LAN connection under--> network connections Control Panel.

I have installed the last drive for the LAN (lan-sm30-xp - 56068112003.zip) available on the support site.

I'm still not able to detect my NIC or discovered my connection to the local network.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I agree with chance. Try to create a new connection to the local network. In addition, you can also try to run the network troubleshooter utility.

I got a new laptop from work and have connected a couple of times on our network.  Now, he does not connect through the wireless network connection.  He said that the connections are available, but there is no connection available more in the list.  If you have to manage wireless networks, it is in the list... but you can not log in via this page.  Any help would be grateful.

    Hello

    1. what operating system you are using?

    2. how many computers is connected to the network?

    3 - is a domain network?

    4. What is the exact error code or error message you received?

5 have have there been recent changes made on the computer before the show?

Follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps.

    Method 1: Troubleshooting run Network.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

Method 2: Wi - Fi and in Windows network connection issues.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/wired-and-wireless-network-connection-problems-in-Windows

If you cannot connect to a network, it could be a problem with your network adapter. You can try to use the network adapter troubleshooting utility to automatically find and fix some common problems.

How can I troubleshoot network card?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-fix-network-adapter-problems

Method 3: Disable the security software and check.

You can also temporarily disable the security software and check if the problem persists. Be sure to enable this security software on the computer after checking.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

If disabling the security software solves the problem, then contact the manufacturer of the specific security software to fix the problem.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Cannot print wireless

I can't print due to the "wireless network connection" doesn't have a valid IP address.  How can I fix this problem myself (an absolute non-techie)?

    Hello

-Did you change your computer, after which the question began?
-Check if you are connected to the network?

The question seems more like a network connection problem. I would like you to do the following.

Method 1: run the Network Troubleshooter utility and see if the problem persists.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

Method 2: release and renew the IP (Internet Protocol) address and see if the problem persists.

has. click Start. Type cmd in the search box and press ENTER.
    b. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
ipconfig/all (there is a space between ipconfig and /)
The command ipconfig/all command displays for all your network adapters, TCP/IP in Windows settings.

If your IP address of your Local network connection is 0.0.0.0 or 169.x.x.x (where x is a number any), then your computer is not getting an IP address from the router.
If this is the case, try this:
    ·        enough ipconfig at the command prompt and press ENTER
    ·        ipconfig / renew in the command prompt and press ENTER

I found the problem (s), even if I am always left with a few questions.

During this process, I have disabled the firewall, but that did not help. However, I noticed 'tweaks' accessed via the tab 'Advanced' in 'Microsoft Firewall' which looked like, they must be checked in order to access the internet. I checked these and reintroduced the firewall. After I got things working, I unchecked them and things still worked so I obviously don't understand what these parameters.

    The solution:

    (1) I have to go straight from the modem cable to the computer. I can't have a cable modem, router wireless, computer, even if using hard wire, and even if this same configuration works with another computer. Also, I can't use a cable length to go from modem to the computer. So, it seems to have had a problem of cable length. Power problem? Only connected to this computer devices are the mouse, the keyboard and the Ethernet. Would not this be fixed with an upgrade of the power supply? Or is it due to the quality of the Ethernet hardware on the motherboard? It's a Dell Vostro 200.

    (2) in back and forth between configurations while following the problem, you must think to unplug the modem to reset between each configuration. You may have stumbled upon the solution, otherwise he's not shot. Also, I unplugged the cable from the modem when you reset data cable - do not know if it was necessary. I wanted to limit the degrees of freedom that I had a lot, as it was.

  • Wireless networks icon disappeared in network connections

I ran a software malware recommended by my administrator (Verizon) internet agent after a long period of trouble connecting to the wireless router. After telling it to remove the files mentioned, I'll be back to see the wireless icon is missing under network connections in the Control Panel. No idea what happened to her. Now, I can not access the router somehow. What can I return this icon of wireless networks. ?

I do not think that you do not forget the files that you have deleted or 'malware software' you used?

I would like to start by uninstalling and reinstalling your wireless adapter.

If you have an external wifi adapter, go to the manufacturer Web site and download the latest driver for it.

If you have an internal wifi adaptor (probably in laptops), go to the computer manufacturer's website and download the latest driver for your wireless card.  Most computer manufacturers provide a link for the correct driver after you identify the specific model of your computer (in the case of Dell, use the "Service Tag").

Save the driver a place that you will be able to find (on a USB flash drive if you have used another computer)

Open the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK)
Expand the "Network adapters" category by clicking on the +.
Right-click on the entry of your wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
OK, go out of your way and restart.

If the Add New Hardware Wizard does not open when Windows reboots and detects the device, go back to Device Manager, right click on the entry of the wifi adapter and select Update driver
On the Hardware Update Wizard screen, don't let it connect to Windows Update, but select "Install from a list or specific location."
Click 'Search for the best driver' and also 'include this location '.  Click on the "Browse" button and navigate to the folder where you saved the downloaded driver (unpacked already, if you downloaded in compressed form).  Make sure you select the subfolder WinXP (or a similar name).
Click next and the adapter must install.

Assuming that the above results in an icon for your adapter in network connections wireless, there is more to do.

Right click on the network connections icon, then select Properties.

Make sure that shows the 'General tab '.
In the box under "this connection uses the following items", you should have 4 entries:
    Microsoft Networks client {needed}
    {Required} (TCP/IP) Internet Protocol
    Sharing files and printers for Microsoft Networks {necessary if you want to be able to share files and printers}
{Optional, but usually present} QoS Packet Scheduler

If these elements are not in the list, make sure, using the install and following dialogs.

In the wireless network properties dialog boxes, click the tab 'wireless networks '.
Make sure the box to "use Windows to configure my wireless" is checked unless you have the utility of the manufacturer do this work.
    OK your way out

Guys, I'm really hitting my head against the wall on this one, and I would be VERY happy for any help through this. Thank you!

I thought about it, there was a corrupted installation of Norton 360, the origin of the problem. I've used the Norton removal tool and voila! Internet! Thank you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8100 does not print - wired network connection - Mac OS x 10.9

I have my 8100 Officejet Pro connected to my home network via a wired ethernet connection. I use Mac OS X 10.9. We had ongoing problems with the printer is accessible via the network. Whenever we have set up the connection, it works for a few print jobs, but whenever we close the printer, the next attempt to print always fails.

I just went through all steps to solve the problem. I went back to square one: reinstalled printer drivers on my MacBook Pro running Mac OS x 10.9; has passed through all stages of wired network connection. and now, every time I send a job to the printer, it fits like the receipt of employment and printing, but the printer itself does not.

The Billboard on the printer indicates it is connected to the network. Print the Network Setup page confirms it is connected to the cable network. Visit the IP address of the printer via my web browser also confirmed. I am able to print a printer HP Print Utility status report, so I don't know that the computer network and the printer are connected and communicate with each other. However, I can't print from MS Word, PDF files or anywhere else outside of the HP Print utility. Work is revealed in the queue, where it shows the status of each page completely 100%, employment disappears, but does never print it.

Help, please. This has been a problem since I bought the printer, and now that my warranty has expired, it's my last hope of fixing. I'm at the end of my tether with a device that I spent enough money on to expect to work, and it does not work properly literally since the day where it was purchased. All attempts to implement working temporarily, at best. Thanks in advance and if you need more information, please let me know.

    Hi DBG345

I understand that you are now able to print from USB, but not on the network.

There are a few things you can try.

Connect the printer to the router with the ethernet cable.

    Unplug the USB cable.

Get the IP address of the printer.

    Click on the Apple.
Click on System Preferences, click on the print icon and scanning, select the printer, click the sign - to remove the printer. Then click on the + sign, then select the printer from the list, select the printer name first, if it does not try the driver airprint, (airprint is apple pre-installed with functionality of basic pilot) click on the Add button.

You can try is to add the printer as a Protocol IP to see if it will work. Go to Apple, system, print, and scan preferences, click on + button, then select the icon of intellectual property across the top, type in the IP address of the printer, select direct stream below, then apply.

    Try to print.

I would like to sign up for updates from the HP driver. When available, you will be informed by e-mail.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello

Can you explain what connection to a network means in your case?

What exactly you want to connect?

If you have a valid broadband (Internet connection), you are already connected to a network.

If you want to check your wireless system follows this process.

If as a result of this process, you find something wrong, tell us what it is.

Most laptops have a physical switch for the wireless card. Read the manual of the computer and make sure that the wireless adapter is on.

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

Make sure that if there is Wireless Utility a utility vendor is not running with the native Windows wireless utility.

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Above everything is OK and it connects to the wireless router. Log in from any computer which is, or can be connected to the router with a wire wireless, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless streaming is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.

When the work turns on the Wireless security.

Note * people sometimes make mistakes in writing and retype the password for security.

Another way is to copy in the menu of the router and then paste it when asked of the wireless card.

  • I can't get the wireless connection appears on the list__ of 'network connections '.

Only, I had to reformat my Latitude D31 and don't know how to do the wireless network connection appears on the list of network connections.  The without line is turned on and the router works.

On a relative (sort of) topic, before reformat, I got a blue screen that says since more memory was used that was installed, there was no memory for something else.  The computer is running (I reinstalled Windows XP, but in Setup the message still arrives.  Is this normal?

    Hello

Old laptops use to come with very little memory.  Since then, software exceed the amount of memory installed

Check the amount of memory you have and see if you can upgrade.

You can find and expanded manual on Dell' support for the laptop.

    Regarding the wireless.

It is possible that the wireless card is not operational and need to reinstall drivers.

    Maybe this can help.

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.
