Network error: 0x800CCC92

Account: 'Email', server: 'mail.bentleyinsuranceonline.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR Authentication failed.', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92.

I have the above error message and so are a couple of other users on our network.  No idea why we are all invited for a password when we have never been asked for one before.  When we can not provide the password, the above error message appears when we try to send/receive emails.

  • DMA2100 - with error "network error" firmware update fails

    I have a DMA2100 with firmware 1.1.0.

    I use 802.11n Wi - Fi connection.

The DMA2100 connects to the Media Center of Vista computer and has access to the internet streaming media, so I know the network endeavours of the DMA2100. What is frustrating is I can't update the firmware, it takes about 1 minute and then I get a message saying there is a network error, error. I can't figure out why.

    Any ideas?

I hope the new firmware will allow me to play all divx file and not only some Divx files.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi DragonFather,

I've previously read online that the Wireless does not update the firmware if you have enabled encryption.  The short answer is to change to wired in the DMA2100 and then connect it via a wired ethernet connection.

Regarding playback of divx/xvid files, I have the DMA2200 with 1.1.0 firmware (I think I need an update too).  I was able to play almost all the files I throw at it.  The only problem is when a file is encoded in Xvid, but the FourCC information are something other than Xvid announcement, DMA does not understand how to play, even if windows can.  Once I have change this information to "xvid" file works perfectly! The program to change it's Avic100 (it's name, I'm at work right now so feel free to correct me), so have a search on google for it and see if that helps.

Try it and tell me how it works for you!

    Good luck
    Marc

  • Error to connect to the webcast - Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server may not be available.

Original title - PROBLEM WITH WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER

I tried to view a technical presentation online and this is the error I received; -what it means and how can I fix it?

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server may not be available. Check that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct.

    Hi NinaOwens,

    1. are you able to view the same content from a different computer?
    2. you get the error only with a particular file or with the majority of them?
    3. during how long have you had this problem?
    4. did you sons of recent change the computer?

You can see the links below and check if the proxy settings are correctly performed. Also you can check the other links to verify network connections-

Have a read of the link above re Vista file and printer sharing.

Permissions/Share info is there as well.

If you use Norton, McAfee, Trend Micro or Kaspersky I.S., make that file and printer sharing is enabled in THE Firewall (or LAN enabled, depending on how their Exceptions are formulated in their firewall)

    See you soon.
