Network - LAN stucks on the identification problem

I have a problem connecting to a LAN for Windows 7. He repeats to me that the LAN is identification. I have two operating systems of this computer. XP operating system works very well, so I guess that the network adapter is ok. Before Windows 7, used to work I deleted my users and created new users. The IP address is 169.*. *. * and the default gateway is blank. I have another computer hooks up to this router and it works fine. I tried to solve the last two days without success. Help, please.

OK, if you're connected via cable (no WIFI), then you can try to run Windows 7 in "safe mode with network":

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

part:

Safe mode with networking

and test if it works or not.

Can write you here if your network card is integrated in the motherboard or it is autonomous in the PCI bus card.

Can you write here the manufacturer and model name of your NIC (stand-alone) or the manufacturer and the model name of your motherboard (integrated in the motherboard)?

Some information about your network card, you can find in the 'Device Manager':

  • Disk network LAN settings

I've recently replaced under warranty, the HD on one of our laptops. This laptop has been previously connected to our local home-network page via a Belkin wireless router. The host computer is connected to the router via an Ethernet cable. I'm currently trying to re-establish the connection of this laptop in our home LAN. already, it is correctly connected to the internet through the router, but it cannot access printers or files on other LAN computers until I can load network LAN settings. The problem is that the Network Wizard on the desktop of the host (Windows XP) allows the reproduction of these settings on a tape player, while the Office has only a CD/DVD drive. Any ideas?

You don't need a "network configuration" disc (ask the wizard for setting up the network to a disk, not a "tape", but your laptop probably doesn't have a floppy or by car).

If you are already connected the laptop to the router enough for Internet access, all you have to do is to run the "Network Setup Wizard" on the laptop.  See this old, but still valid, MS MVP Malke advice network.

We consider that you have Windows XP on the laptop.  If you have problems, when you post back, be sure to include the version of Windows (XP Home, Vista Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, etc.) on the laptop, including service pack.

Excellent, comprehensive, but easy to understand article on sharing files/printer under Vista. Contains information about sharing printers and files, and the folders:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx

For XP, start by running the Network Setup Wizard the on all machines (see warning in section A below).

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, it means which allows file sharing / print on the Exceptions tab normally run the XP Network Setup Wizard will take care of this for these machines. The only "witch hunt", it will turn on the XPSP2 Windows Firewall. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus with "Internet Worm Protection" (like Norton 2006/07) which acts as a firewall, you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    C. create the counterpart of the user accounts and passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this. The instructions on this link work for XP and Vista:

Set up Windows to automatically connect (MVP Ramesh) - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

    D. Si one or more of the computers is XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

    E. create share as you wish. XP Home does not share the users directory or the Program Files, but you can share folders inside those directories. A better choice is to simply use the Shared Documents folder. See the first link above for more information on Vista sharing.

    F. you have the job of file sharing (and tested by exchanging a file between machines), if you want to share a printer connected locally to one of your computers, share of this machine. Then go to the printer mftr Web site. and download the latest drivers for the correct system. Install them on the target machines. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers, but it is outside this response.

  • Windows 7 64-bit slow start of blue circle hangs on the network icon in the notification area. Some programs don't load until the problem resolves. stuck at the screen of welcome for 5-10 minutes sometimes.

    Hello world.

It will be long and windy.

    I have a problem with my ASUS G50VT - X 5.

im going to write down the details of my question, short first. so if you want you can read my short story on my laptop and I.

    • Slow start.
    • Network at startup initialization problem.
    • Blue circle weighs on my network icon in the taskbar notification for 10 minutes or more. then she disappears with the problem that everything starts to operate correctly.
    • some startup programs do not start until the issue is resolved. (blue circle disappears) i.e. adjustment of splendid colors, services, programs of control really like network connections and things like that but some i can still run.
    • programs that have to do with the network or the internet such as IE or center network to hang until the issue is resolved.
    • Some programs won't load if started up that the problem is solved. for example, microsoft outlook and other things.

Another thing, I noticed. If I have automatic network connection configuration and the network is in range when I launch firefox I can actually serf the web regardless of the question.

I'm not the only one having this problem, but solutions that work for some do not work for me. some of the things I've tried to understand.

    • has run msconfig to see if it is one of the start up programs or services is causing the problem. found nothing.
    • run the cmd command, I think that the chkdsk. It digitizes and restores the registers according to me. did not help
    • Used norton. then corrected all the errors found and the questions. did not help.
    • Ran startup recovery tool to fix problems at the beginning. did not help.
    • Booted up my laptop in SafeMode with network. Works very well

Also, the problem started not with win 7 install I had it on my laptop well before the problem.

im running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. as if lately, about a week ago my laptop started to start, slow down and be laggy when the system boots. I have no much attention at first. Since the question does not disappear on its own, I noticed that my network in the notification bar icon has a blue circle probably because its network initialization or loading something that is bound to it something as is. After about 10 minutes the issue resolves itself and everything works fine until I have reboot or restart. also sometimes on occasion I will be stuck to the homescreen for 7-10 minutes.  also if I put my laptop to sleep when I start it it works fine. I think that the time to resolve that issue got longer it is about 10 min now but it used a lot less. at least that's what I recall. In addition, I noticed a few more things. If I left click on the network icon does nothing when normally it will display network connections. If I right click on it displays troubleshooting and Open Network and Sharing Center. Troubleshooting doesn't help and returns nothing. Network and sharing Center is suspended until the problem resolves. in fact, some programs won't load until it the problem goes away as internet explore, network and sharing virtually Center almost everything what has to do with the network and also other programs that require a bit more resources. What else... the kicker is that while the issue is to present the networks I connect to automatically are in fact very well and I have internet, even though the network is still initializing. what I mean is that if I start my portable firefox and launch (cannot use IE because he hangs up) I can go online and the serf of the web.

Well, I am at a loss and don't know what to do next, except to format and clean install. However, people who did it until the problem was which leads me to believe that this is one of the windows updates may be.

If someone knows how to fix this problem or can give a kind of constructive contribution, I'm all ears.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    1. Since when are you facing this problem?

2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    3. do you get any error code or error message while starting?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

If you have not tried the steps in the following Microsoft article, then try to clean boot and check if it helps.

How to solve the problem by running the clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Once you have completed troubleshooting, perform the steps in the step 7: to reset the computer as usual.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

If the problem persists, you can create a new user account and check what is happening. To create a new user account

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/create-a-user-account

    Step 2:

If the new user account works fine then the old account has been corrupted, you can follow the link given below to fix the corrupted user profile.

  • Printing problems with XP and Lexmark-documents are just stuck in the print queue

Original title: printing problems with XP and Lexmark

Until yesterday, I was able to print OK using Windows XP and a Lexmark Printer series 3500-4500 with wireless capabilities.  Reported network test wireless (on printer) and report indicates that there are no reported problem, also did the diagnostic test and which shows no problem either.  I can't print and documents are just stuck in the print queue - please can someone help, it drives me crazy because it's probably a very simple solution.

I guess you do not have all of the error messages.

It is possible that comes to mind that your printer has received a new IP address of your router (this could easily happen if you have several computers and other devices that connect to your wireless network).

Find the IP address of the printer of his network diagnostic page.
Click Start > printers and faxes, right-click the printer and select Properties
Select the Ports tab, then click on the button "Configure Port" (be careful NOT to click anywhere in the list of ports)
Make sure that the IP address in 'Port settings' is identical to that shown on the diagnosis of your network printer page.

To avoid this problem in the future, you must configure the printer to have a static IP address.  See your printer User Guide for instructions.

Choose an appropriate subnet address (i.e., has the first 3 groups of numbers the same as the other addresses in your network) but who is not in the range of addresses assigned by the DHCP server on your router.  See the User Guide of your router for more details.

  • Computer not finding networks, stuck on the Logging Off screen in Vista

For the past two weeks, if I simply close my laptop while it is running, most of the time when I try to open it up my wireless network does not connect automatically. I have to click 'Connect to' in my Start menu and manually connect to the network. The only problem is, sometimes it will fail to find a network and when I try to manually go to 'Connect to', it does nothing. Nothing comes up at all. I have to restart my computer. Once I try to restart, it sticks on the screen "Logging Off". I also tried to disconnect just opened a session back, but it's still stuck on this screen. I am then forced to make a hard closed down by holding down the power button.

    Hello

    1. you broadcast the SSID of the wireless network?
    2. have you idea of changing the settings of the preferred wireless networks?

    Method 1.
Try to change the order in which your computer connects to the network.
The list of networks connected to before is sometimes referred to as your preferred wireless networks or your preferred list.
    a. open manage wireless networks by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet, click Network and sharing Center, and then, in the left pane, click on manage wireless networks.
    b. your saved wireless networks is displayed. To change the order in which your computer connects to networks, drag the networks upwards or downwards in the list.
    c. to change preferences for the network, right-click the network, and then click Properties.

    Method 3.
Also the question of trial in the State of clean boot and check. You can also check the shutdown problems in the boot.

Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

    Method 4.
Also check the eventviewer on stop error logs.
Type eventvwr.msc/s in the address bar.
The list of all the events that are listed as 'Error' in the main window when you go to 'Newspapers Windows' and 'Application '. There is often a large number of them. Send us any ones you see listed for the last few days. (Please also do it for the log files in 'System'). When you do, provide us the name of the 'Source' and all that is listed in the description below the list of newspapers box when you click on one.

  • one of the VM cannot access network LAN

    Hello

I configured 3 VM on an ESXi 4.1 (see attached jpg file). one of the virtual machine (GSPPBPCDBVM), it cannot access the network LAN, even cannot ping Bridge but can ping GSPPBPCVM after I walk today, previously, it was ok. The other 2 VM can access LAN network. What could be the problem?

    GSPPBPCVM (128.1.8.x)

    GSPPBPCDBVM (128.1.8.x)

    AEPAD (10.8.1.x)

vmnic1 (to connect to the local network virtual 128.1.8.x)

vmnic0 (to connect to the local network virtual 10.8.1.x)

    Thank you and best regards,

    Kelvin

With the configuration you have posted, you have a 50/50 chance that none of your VM will have access to the network, since you have 2 NICs connected to two different VLANS and virtual machines are assigned to these network cards based on the virtual switch port (assuming you use the default settings).

To properly set up the network, you have two options:

1.) VLAN tagging on the physical switch ports (what you have)

In this case, you will need to create a second vSwitch and attach the second NETWORK card to this switch. Then connect virtual machines to the vSwitch and port group that is connected to the switch port VLAN corresponding physics.

2.) VLAN tagging on the virtual port group (this is what I recommend)

Configure the ports on your physical switch as the trunk (or ports 'labelled' If you use Procurve switches), create another port VM on vSwitch0 group and set up VLAN tags on the gropus (VMKernel, VM Network1, VM Network2) port

Take a look at http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/virtual_networking_concepts.pdf for more information.
