I suggest that you disable the password protected sharing on vista computer and check if it works.

To turn off password protected sharing, follow these steps:

    (a) open the network and sharing Center by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click network and Internet, click network and sharing Center.

    (b) subject sharing and discovery, click the arrow next to password protected sharing.

  • Add a network printer by using different credentials in Windows Vista Home Premium

    Hello

I am trying to add a shared network printer (from server) of a computer running Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. The user must authenticate by using different credentials, but I can't find a way to force Vista to connect with different credentials.
In Windows 7, it's easy, I just add an entry in the credentials manager and everything works, I can connect to the server, access to all of the actions that the user has access to and add the printer.
In Windows Vista, I can't do that. "" If I try to add a network of credentials in the "stored user names and passwords", I can only add a "a Web site or program identification information. "A credential to Windows logon" is greyed out.
When I try to access the share in Windows Explorer, I get an access denied. Instead of having Windows pop up a dialog to authenticate, he tries just to the help of the currently connected user credentails, which isn't what I want.
If I try to add the printer using the Add Printer Wizard-> add a network printer, when I enter the path to the printer, I also have an access denied instead of bring up a Windows authentication dialog box.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!

  • network printing from the desktop in Windows Vista and Windows 7 laptop

    Original title: network printing

I have Vista Home running on a desktop computer with a printer. I have a laptop with W 7 (64-bit) and to print on a desktop printer.  I have configured the settings to allow the sharing of files on the vista machine and now in this network sharing Center it is written after the sharing printers and public folder sharing (password required).  Which passwords they are referring to and how do I enter them?

I decided to bite the bullet and updated desktop for Windows 7.  Now, portable and office are on the same operating system.  Then I used the home network.  The network was a snap to set up and works perfectly.

  • Network Vista and XP - connection to the network printer problem

I try to print to a network printer connected to a vista from a computer xp machine

    Two computers on a network
Vista machine is connected through the ethernet card and has a connected printer
XP machine is via wireless network

Both machines have the same network name "mshome".
Open ports on the firewall and also left Software Firewall

When I print a job, I see it be wound on the info from the printer on both machines, but then, it is automatically deleted.

I am able to access the hard disks from two computers

The printer works this way, when you share a printer between XP and Vista where the printer is connected to Vista, XP will communicate with the printer and its drivers Vista.

So as I suspected it was due from pilots, in your case XP will be offered 64 bit readers which it does not recognize

If we rely on the printer connected to the Vista 64-bit operating system operating system 32-bit, we need to install the additional drivers (especially the XP must be with 32 bits, only 32 bits of the operating system will not show if it's 32-bit or 64-bit)

So in this case, you must right click on the printer on Vista and go to the sharing tab, and then click additional drivers, it will be the operating system and Version to select and you will need to select Windows XP x 86 and install the drivers

Now your Vista will be the 32-bit and 64-bit drivers installed. Now, when you share the printer, when the Contacts XP Vista, Vista has drivers and it will be able to share the printer correctly. Anish

  • Network printer with XP and Vista

I initially installed my printer (Canon i850) on the XP computer, then I disconnected the USB cable and plugged into the Vista computer.  Vista has found a driver and it worked.  Then I put in network computers via ethernet and a router.  Now, I try to add the printer as a network printer on the XP computer, but he can't find a driver.  Computer that needs a new driver and what type?
Is not the XP computer generate a print file using a XP compatible driver, send the file to the Vista machine, and it sends the file to the printer?  If that's true, he should be able to use the driver that is already on the XP machine.

    Extremely misleading terminology

When you use the Add Printer Wizard you must select: "Local printer attached to this computer" even if the printer is connected to another computer.
Only after that I tried this option has noticed the "(i) ' who says: to configure a network printer that is not attached to a print server, use the»»
local printer option.  Indeed, he tells you to do two things in the face.

I think that the Assistant must have been modified to only three choices: (1) Local printer, network (2) printer connected to another computer, (3) network printer attached to a print server.
The underlying confusion is due to the double meaning of the term "network printer".

My problem is now solved, but not through Microsoft or you guys.

Cannot install network printer on Windows 7.  Detects the printer then it says cannot locate the driver.  All my vista and XP machines have no problem finding drivers. It is a 32-bit 64-bit vs questions?  How can I fix it?
Windows Server 2008 network.  Printers have ip addresses. Install the drivers from the Print Manager.  /Terminal Server Workgroup installation.

It's the same situation with XP.  The print driver names must match.  If you notice the name of the printer driver that uses XP is a name different from the one that is installed when you plug in the device on the Windows 7 computer.  This is just my assumption, please correct me if this isn't the case.

The real solution is to install a 32-bit driver on the XP machine that uses the same name that the 64-bit driver and share a printer using this driver or find a 64-bit driver that uses the same name as the 32-bit driver installed on XP and install the driver on XP.

  • Network MFP M127FW for Vista Pro printer driver

I need a driver and instructions on how to install a M127FW MFP as a network printer.  I tried add the printer with the IP address after you have installed the huge package on the site of HP. He failed the test of the printer page.  Is there a driver more compact that can be used.

    Hello @zimmer1,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you are looking for Basic for your Laserjet M127FW print drivers. I would like to help.

Software and driver results for: HP LaserJet Pro M127fw MFP

When you scroll to the bottom of the page you will see "driver - product Installation Software (3)". Keep scrolling down until you see 'Base Drivers (2)' click to add to this list.

Try the driver HP LaserJet Pro series M127 MFP/128 Cffp Print.  To 85.4 MB, against 123.0 MB, it is probably what you are looking for.  If this is the case, feel free to click accepted solution or congratulations.

If you are still experiencing a problem with printing let me know. There could be a different matter at hand.

    I A300D - 14 p Vista 32 and the other a PC running XP Pro SP3.

This PC is connected to the printer by USB port.
I can see this printer on home network (Wi - Fi).
When I try to install printer to A300, I get the message "I can't install it. Memory is not enough.
    What is the possible solution?

    Thanks in advance.
    Concerning

How are you trying to install the network printer?
Make a double click on it or something?

Well, the PC with the printer should provide Vista drivers if you double-click it to install it because the PC is running Windows XP.
But you can also download and install the printer drivers on your PC and then choose the network as port or IP address.

    Check it!

  • Network printer connection is lost.

Periodically, my network printer refuses to print. When I check the port, I note that the ip address of the port does not match the ip address of the printer. Changing the port on the one with the correct IP address does not help.

Reboot is my usual although solution removal and reinstall of the printer also works.

I think it's because of the IP being determined by the router (DHCP) and material being enabled in various sequences results in the IP address changes. Router Linksys WRT310n, printer HP 3600n, OS is XP Pro and Vista

How can I get the print spooler to restore the correct link when it changes. Under XP I checked an option that says keep connection by same name so changes to port, but it does not seem to have an effect.

    Hello

After establishing the static IP, or IP reservation. You can do what you were doing, or remove and reinstall.

The important thing is to provide peripheral network address (printers, servers, NAS, etc.) which does not change, while they are still in the same place.
