• Failed to set the new CSS rule for the background image

  Hello

  Maybe I've finally lost my mind... I myself find it impossible to add a background image to the header of my project portion.  I select the "header" in the property Panel section, click on "add a new CSS rule.  Curiously, DW does not in the name of the selector for me, which is probably an indication that something is wrong, but I don't know what.  I went through the steps of filling in the name of the switch by hand, choose the .jpg file and setting is like a background image, but he never takes.

  There has got to be something simple that experienced users of DW can explain.  Go ahead, experts, you out there?

  When things go south, it is almost always caused by a mistake of small coding somewhere.

  Unbalanced tags are the usual suspects.

  Run validation and fix the errors reported.

  DW newbie here; It is my first post on the Dreamweaver forum, although I have been posting on the forums of Photoshop and illustrator years.
  
  Is Dreamweaver stupid question - possible to add a new style of css via the CSS styles palette only when the style sheet is opened? For some reason when I click on the new icon of styles css design mode and select tags at the bottom of the design view window, DW will not create the style. It only does when the style sheet is opened or (I'm sure) I'm doing something wrong or do not understand how create new css rule works.

  Click on the new icon in the rule on the CSS panel. Choose 'Tag' to the selector
  Type. Enter the name of the selector "h1". Choose where you want your rule
  defined. Click OK. Work?

• I've just updated to the latest version and now I can not manually type in the URL. I can't get to a new page if I click on a link.

  I've just updated to the latest version of Firefox 32.0.3 today and now I can not manually type in the URL. I can't get to a new page if I click on a link. I had to use - gasp - Chrome just to get to this help page!

  I can type (not a keyboard problem), but the browser never tries to go to URL, when I hit enter

  Thanks - kept looking around and found a rec to make a reset of Firefox. This seems to have worked.

• I've just updated to Firefox 17.0.1 and now I can't click a bookmark to open it or open new tab when you click New tab.

  I have several bugs mentioned in FF 17.0.1. I'm only able to open bookmarks by clicking on them and selecting open in a new tab in the menu dropdown. I can't open a new tab by clicking the new tab or by clicking Open a new tab in the menu at the top of the browser drop-FF. In addition, no buttons work in FF, such as home, previous, next or update. It is so aggravating!

  Once I posted this, I restarted with Add ons disabled and it worked... deleted a cpl of addons for the verification of the compatibility and fixed it.

  You can identify the selectors required either by looking at the definitions of page templates and the region you use (Home > Application Builder > Application > shared components > models), or use a browser with a web inspector to display the source of the component when the application runs.

• Whenever I want to choose a component bootstrap, DW said that will create a new css/js file?

  According to DW CC 2015 "the component is not compatible with the Bootstrap CSS/JS file. Because it is "less than v3.0" (which is not the case).

  Even upon acceptance to create new CSS/JS files, the question comes up on & more. How can I stop this?

• Tag CSS selector problems!

  Hello!

  So I am very new to the whole of the web development scene, whatever, I picked up the basics, at least up until this point...

  Currently I am creating pages for examples of my new ability to work, but I came to a stand still when you apply a label slector to an element.
  I applied a css tag to the < h1 > element so that its font and color are different and underline. On in so doing, he appeared fine in dreamwever, however when I try to view it in a browser it shows no signs of change, as if I had not applied the new css rule! I saved the rule as an external style sheet. When I tried again using an internal style sheet however, the problem has not persisted.

  I must obviously be missing or do something badly embarrassed here!

  PS - I am currently only using od DW CS5.5 trial version, but as far as I know, that shouldn't make a difference.
