New driver Nvidia GTX285 - upgrading?

I recently received a notice to upgrade the GTX285 video card driver. I have not updated my Nvidia card since the first Pro CS5 installation as this and a previous update watch they are focused on improving the performance of video game. I hesitate to upgrade the driver while the map seems to work very well. Anyone installed these upgrades and noticed an improvement in performance with first Pro CS5? Thank you!

I have a hell of a time getting nVidia drivers to install correctly.  Whenever I try it is a headache.

If it works, I would leave it alone.

    Hello

Anyone know if there is a newer version of the NVIDIA graphics driver that comes with the satellite pro 2100? I looked on the Toshiba downloads section and on the NVIDIA site, I have not had any look to find everything. They simply stopped updating this driver?

Any help will be thank you very much and I do a search before posting, but haven't found anything.

    Thank you

    Hello Steve

Satellite Pro 2100 is fairly old unit. It is about 6 years old. Graphics card is NVidia GeForce4 420Go with 16 MB of memory only. Now the question: do you really want that Toshiba should support unit of 6 years with the latest NVIDIA driver? Please don't be crazy on me, but I really don't understand what you expect.

A more interesting question to me is: for what purpose you need new driver? You want to use with newer games, or maybe you some graphic problems watching movies DSVD?

I have Toshiba Satellite M30. Recently, I installed the new nVidia 9.1.3.1 driver (summer 2006) and after that, I started to encounter problems with wakes my notebook of booth mode and a problem with the power of the monitor.

If computer sleeps or its monitor is turned off and I try to make it work again it hangs with a black screen (although I can see slightly backlight) and doesn't react to anything except the hard reset. What should I do? Going back to the old nVidia Driver?

Windows XP Pro SP2 + all updates update MS. nVidia FX Go5200 video card

    Hello

If you use the drivers directly from nVidia it can cause problems, because they are not designed for laptops. The downloadable driver of Toshiba for this model is the 46,44 version. If you want a newer driver, you can watch the new laptops with nVidia card. Or you can search the Internet, maybe you'll find a driver updated for notebooks somewhere.

    Hello

This sounds really weird. Are you sure to you´ve downloaded the correct drivers for your computer? What system do you have? XP or Vista?
Maybe you´ve downloaded a version of Vista, and you have XP. It would be useful and enjoyable if say you what system you have.

Alternatively, you can visit this site:

  • How to install W7 on a new hard drive with an upgrade disc

This issue was published and responded differently and I'm looking to help determine that I'm not just doing.

I have a desktop dell Inspiron 540 initially installed with vista and upgraded to w7 with upgrade disk.  PC currently has a raid 0 on two drives configuration.  I want to do a clean install of w7 on a new 2 gig disk and remove my raid disk, so I unplugged my raid drives and plugged the new drive with the boot sequence set on DVD as priority to start.  When I put the drive of W7 the PC starts and begins installation of W7 and passes by a couple of reboots before it comes to rest on and the screen eventually white.  My questions are the following:

    (1) is the w7 stall out because it's only a upgrade disk.  I've read that even an upgrade disc must fill a system knowing that I finally needed to authenticate the license but this not yet get there.

    (2) or is the problem that none of the original pilot was loaded onto the new drive before trying to install w7?  I don't know if I have the disks just as the PC was rebuilt with new hardware warranty, so I don't know the Dell disks I have are no longer valid and if I install w7 without them.

    (3) if I do not have the right Dell driver disks is there a way to only install drivers without having to install as I prefer to do a clean vista w7 install.

    (4) when my pc normally starts in a raid 0 configuration and passes to the bios Setup screen, there will be an another intel matrix storage screen which is where I need to enter CTRL + I to enter the raid configuration...  After that I disconnected my original discs and installed a new this screen intel never presented itself - is that because I have not installed the drivers from dell?

    (5) others have suggested that I should keep the original discs in place for now, install my new hard drive, install W7 on the new drive and then delete older readers.  However, if I do and if Miss me the physical disks, if I remove the old drives, which allows W7 still starts it correctly once I deleted the old hard.

    THX,

The disc itself is a full install of W7, it is key that defines as an upgrade and the normal solution to a blank disc is not enter key questioned at first, but to call the Activation Center later. That's because Windows 7 is a completely new system and use nothing of Vista/XP even if the upgrade should be complete.

If the system restarts once again successfully during the installation, then it booted from the HARD disk as the installation tasks are all made from there. As JW suggests to test the HARD drive, most manufacturers offer on their website diagnostic utilities that are in the CD or bootable USB format then not dependent on the installed o/s. In addition, a contender is memeory questions, either swap autour, replace or reduce the system to a stick to eliminate the problems.

Make sure RAID mode has been disabled in the BIOS for Windows 7 AHCI or SATA mode should work well when a single drive is equipped with RAID should disable auto. The keys Ctrl + I is a precursor of the o/s drivers so a function RAID BIOS Setup screen is not apply to it is not there. He disappeared because there is a single disc and you can't build a matrix on a single disc.

All compatible motherboards in PC today have all the installation of Windows 7 no driver needed. They are normally added after the initial installation. If it's still a Dell Mobo, then the same driver drive should work as it will identify all required driver.

  • Tecra S2: nVidia 6600 new driver update available?

I think all the drivers from tecra are outdated!
I mean, couldn't toshiba release more drivers more often?
During my year 1 S2, I saw 2 pilots diferent video!

Just to check how oudated are the real drivers, opengl support is only 1.5 when there is already a lot of drivers which support opengl 2.01.

    Hello

First of all why you are suggesting that the graphics driver is outdated on the Tecra S2?
I checked the page of the Toshiba driver and the latest version of graphic driver nVidia made since 16/12/05. I think it s not very old.

The fact is that graphics cards in notebooks are not the same as on the desktop PC. They are different and in this case, it is important to use the drivers that are specially designed for the use of the laptop.
Toshiba offers many books and generally, you will find the same graphics card in several books.

If you want you can check the drivers from other laptops with the same graphic card.

  • I can not format or partition my new drive HARD internal

I have a MacBook Pro late 2011. The other day, I was unable to boot and got the flashing question mark folder. When I command + R, my old 500 GB of HARD drive was not appear. I decided it was time to upgrade. I bought a Seagate 2 TB drive and installed it. I am now ready to install OS X on it. I am able to see the drive when I go into Internet recovery, but failure of attempts at partitioning and formatting. The error for the formatting is "wipe data on the volume to avoid future to probe accidental is not" and the error for partitioning is the same. I looked for answers and I tried all the solutions I could find, but I am unable to do the single user mode that I can't boot into it successfully.

Are there other options or ideas that guys maybe I can try?

I suggest that you consider getting an external adapter or place the new drive in an external enclosure. Install Mac OS X on this subject here.  When you are satisfied with the way it works, and THEN do the transplant.

This separates from the software install the registry numbers, reduced the problem by half and the two halves solvable.

  • Satellite L655-1GN - failed to install the new drive HARD original recovery image

    Hello

Just had to buy a new hard drive and put the latter with the former. I already checked that he was the same size and SATA as the original hard drive. When I tried to start a new installation of the operating system from the recovery disk (that I bought the Toshiba provider in my country - MAFIL), the boot option was not available.

MAFIL representative told me that the recovery disks only for the reinstalliation of the OS on the original drive, but are not suitable to install a fresh copy again. So, how can I install my Win7 64-bit, with all settings on the new drive and Toshiba apps?

    Thank you
    Tomer

On many models of laptops different change HARD drive or upgrade can be done by the owner of the laptop and after doing this, you can install recovery image using the disc of recovery without any problem.

I did several times on different models of Toshiba laptops. This works.
I really don't understand how someone can give you this information.

By default the BIOS settings, restart your machine and press F12 at startup. When the boot menu appears on the screen put the recovery disk ODD news, select CD/DVD as a boot device and press ENTER.
What happens when you do this?

Is there a newer video driver recommended for the X 200-251 (PSPB9E) using the GeForce 8700 M GT graphics chip? One posted on Toshiba support pages is old way now, version 179,48, February 2009.

I need a newer driver that a few apps that I need the latest version of CUDA to run correctly. One of my office machines running version 197,75 since May 2010, who does what it takes. Did someone tried this driver? Is there a new Toshiba recommended driver as that is more than a year (179,48)?

    Hello

The most recent driver is always placed on the Toshiba driver download page. This means that if you have already installed these drivers, your notebook computer is up to date and there are no updates available at this time.

Theoretically, you can install the latest driver from nVidia directly but this driver is not pretested and it s on your own risk!
