• New computer, files are on old, external USB hard drive, impossible to get LR2 to recognize

  Installed LR2 on my first iMac 2 years ago and together towards the top so all my live photos on my external USB drive.  Bought my new computer, re-installed LR2, plugged my original HD USB and I can not get LR2 to look at the files.

  I looked around in the help and deleted my new computer HD library folder.  Now, when I start it, it asks me

  

  All my photos are on my USB HD (I can see them in the Finder), but I really don't want to have to re - import into LR2 again.

  You must find the catalog that LR has worked with before you change computers.

  You see, LR cannot 'see' image files that are on a hard drive, unless you have the catalog to go with these images.

  For LR to work, you must always two things: the image files and the catalog (and your previews).

  So where is the catalogue? Best way to go about this would be:

  Connect the external hard drive to your old computer and open LR. Go to Edition > catalog settings > general Tab. Select "every time I left LR'.

  Close LR and the backup dialog box will appear that allows you to choose a save location. Select your external hard drive as the location.

  When LR finished the backup, connect the external hard drive to your new computer. In your operating system, go to the backup location and double-click the file with the ending "lrcat.

  LR opens with this catalogue, and if you have not changed the location and/or the name of your image files or picture files he will find the images.

  PS: Make sure that the external hard drive on the new computer has the same letter drive, as it had on the old computer. If it does not have the following:

  In the Libarary Module, you should see question marks in addition to your files. Right click on the folder that is higher in the hierarchy and point LR to the location of this folder on your hard drive.

  I just upgraded from 5.5 to the 2014 CC and now in Dreamweaver CS, none of my site definitions are here. What I have to start from scratch creating sites for all my sites and I can import them somewhere? Thank you.

  It's pretty simple to put on the sites...

  1. open the old DW

  2. Choose Site > Manage Sites > highlight sites > Export

  3. This will create your site settings .ste files

  4. close the old DW and open DW CC 2015

  5. go on the Site > Manage Sites > Import to import the .ste files

  I just changed my PC.  I use Windows 7 and just installed LR 5 but was previously using LR 3.  I stored all my data on an external HARD drive.  This folder and file access to get all my old catalogs downloaded in my new LR 5?

  You can double-click it and LR should open, or you can start LR and use file / open the catalog and then go for it.

  Click on the name go you to your profile page. Then click on the tab content, you can go through the different pages by clicking on the numbers or the arrows on the right side of the screen.

  I wonder if it is possible to change the default directory (+ / app / < apps > / < cube > +) where are stored the Essbase applications and cubes. Really, I have two questions:
  
  (1) is it possible to specify a new path where are stored the cubes?
  (2) could be using multiple paths at the same time? I mean, using the default route and an alternative route.

  I know of no limitation. You don't know where you just point do has enough disk space.

  Updated based on feedback from Glenn: must ensure that backup procedures Essbase are scripted to choose among different locations.

• Old Forums vs new forums

  Hi people,

  After a long time, I'm here. when I saw the site of the forum, it's quite wonderful. Doesn't seem to be forums OTN, he seems to be like a Social network like twitter. But I'm quite stuck with Otn forum thread/option creation and so. Since a few days I look at what is happening. how they the people go. and I need to study all these tricks how to do, how to react.

  But I felt this old Otn forum quite easy for me when I am a new bie. I did not study anything, just as I have an appointment with the otn forums.

  Easily / without any guidance / and so on., here I am with my own point of view.

  But this big Effort, thank to the Oracle Community for. I hope I can take time to adopt it.

  1.Pourquoi oracle community changed as a system of points as the number of post basis. I felt good with the old system.

  The old forum s/w was to his last breath. Many were broken. Some simple things like being able to see your watches, new updates. As the search. He was old and dated s/w.

  Size of the RTO is continuously growing. The old s/w could not support growth. Features more and more had to be turned off, in order to sill to provide performance and features very basic forum.

  If not, there is no option to return to the former s/w. It would be just stupid - because that will ensure a total failure OTN in the future with the old o/s being unable to effectively support the volume and size of the RTO.

  The new s/w is perfect? N ° as with most of the improvements, there are things that work differently, which doesn't seem to work correctly, which seems to be broken and which seems odd. • I use "from Internet Explorer' to store my new Favorites, but they do not appear in my 'Favorites' - where are they?

  When I changed my IE7, Firefox (and I'm very glad I did) I migrated my large list of Favorites (which was divided into subsections to make it easier to find items) to Firefox Bookmarks. I continued to bookmark web sites, I added to the sub-headings in "Of Internet Explorer" I can easily find. However, when I wanted to copy on my laptop, I discovered that the only "favourites", I can find it on my PC are the old favorites IE7 - none of the additions made in Firefox were there. Similarly, the bookmarks toolbar, which I use now is different from the toolbar Favorites always accessible from my Windows Explorer.

  Where this information is stored in Firefox so I can copy?

  You can read places.sqlite without specialized software that understands the format.

  If you want to create shortcuts .url on disk in the style of favorites of IE, the best thing would be to have in reality IE creates them for you by import of your Firefox bookmarks. There is actually a support article on this: export Internet Explorer Favorites.

• GarageBand 10.1.0 - cannot open files of the old version of Garageband in the new version - they are empty after the backup with the updated app!

  I use a MacBook Pro with OS X El Capitan. I just download GarageBand 10.1.0. When I try to open my existing GarageBand files in either a double click or single click and choosing 'open', I gives me only the possibility to 'save' the file. When I save the file, it appears in the list of files with a new icon, but when I open it, it is empty, rather than containing the recording I made and saved on my previous version of GarageBand.

  I'm afraid to keep trying to open and save it back etc., in which case it's clear files.

  On Windows 7, the profile folder is inside this folder:

  C:\Users\ < Windows user name > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
