New laptop is slow

laptop HP pavilion 15-p010us touchsmart, 2.4 GHz amd quad-core a8-6410 apu

My laptop is fairly new, almost a week. It was perfectly fine the first day but then I noticed cela lag and take some time to open anything, is it it open to all. For example, several times I would try opening Google Chrome and it loads but then act as ever, I clicked it or I want to click on something and I would get no reaction until a few minutes later, when its action. Ive updated the necessary updates and recommended to try to solve the problem, but it continues to lag. It takes forever to open a new page. It loads to a blank screen for a minute and then go to the page I wanted. I checked my network via Xfinity speed Checker speed and the results were normal, according to them. I would really help because it is really new and I don't understand why I'm constantly waiting for the simplest of things to open or load. Ive done complete analyses with nothing detected and my pc is protected. I bought a new laptop because my old one was too slow I have not downloaded or installed anything before that happens outside of Google Chrome

Edit: Ive searched around the internet and found similar problems where McAfee is actually slow down the computer and uninstall helped. That would help? What is the best protection for computers that are not slow it down?

Hello

Thanks for posting in the Forum of Support HP!

Yes, McAfee can slow some computers and could cause performace issues such as you describe.

S ' Please, uninstall it in Panel of-> programs and features

-Restart the computer

-Check >this article and download the McAfee consumer product removal tool

-Restart the computer

Test now and confirm if the issue is resolved.

Some additional tips you could read >here

You can also download and run CCleaner (Slim edition) free edition

In regard to your question fast, light and effecent AV/malware protection, I personally recommend that you try ESET NOD32 or ESET Smart Security www.eset.com

Please, post again and I would like to know the results. Happy holidays!

  • DVD burner in the new laptop VERY SLOW - PLDS DVD +-RW OF THE - 8A5HH

I just got a new laptop from Best Buy - Dell Inspiron 3521. There a PLDS DVD +-RW OF THE - 8A5HH drive built in. I tried to burn a data CD, but it failed several times.

I tried these in the file Explorer and CyberMedia Power2Go Burns, also at the Maximum speed or 24 X. It was using both Philips 52 X speed CDR burning failed at the end, when the burner is trying to close the disc. He couldn't complete a burn speed X 10 (very slow) to Power2Go. File Explorer strangled between 7 X and 10 x to be able to burn and did not show a dialog box saying if the burn is complete or not. He left me guessing.

It was after a call to Dell technical support and a trip on the Microsoft Support Site to use their CD - RW test online. He said he updated something, but I don't know what.

I must say it's a disappointment. I think I should have bought a laptop without a burner inside and bought an external burner. At least that way I had have the choice of what I got. This burner is slooowly.

Anyone have any idea if this can be fixed, or is it just a limitation of the burner is in this laptop? If it is material, well I guess you get what you pay for.

Dell phone support fixed it. Went to the Microsoft Support website and ran a convenience store of material for DVD players, who suggested the update of the firmware of the player. He did that, and then we went back and burned a disc in the file Explorer and it worked, but only to 10 X I opened Power2Go and burned a disc at 24 X, and it burned successfully. I didn't actually measure the speed (Power2Go shows you that), but it worked well and quickly. I think that the problem was an outdated firmware for the DVD/CD burner. Flashing to the latest firmware fixed the problem.

I want, I knew that this troubleshooting tool on the Microsoft support site, but now I can not find.

  • my new laptop is very slow.

my new laptop is very slow. I get a message "high utilization of the processor by windows media sharing", even if the windows media does not run.

    Hello

1 have had any changes made to your computer before this problem?

    2. what version of Windows are you using?

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps.

Method 1: SFC scan run on the computer to ensure that the system files are intact:

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 2:

    a. go to the Media Player.

    b. in the menu-> file-> manage libraries-> select each library (music, video, photos, TV recorded (if you have)

    c. check the paths that he manages and make sure it is not too near the root of the C: drive.  For example, it should be something like c:\users\Jim\Music and c:\users\Public\Music BUT NOT c:\users because they will cause the whole directory to re tree - index over and over (when you surf the web, or change files in your profile).

Hello... just asked this, but not sure it sent... new laptop, no cd/dvd player, need to install my design cs6... standard have code # and product series, but the only download link, I found was a bit slow (14 days and count - up - when it expired, haha)... hoping someone can help, please and thank you

You can try with below steps if you want:

    Folder Temp light 1).

    (2) close all running Applications.

    (3) close webistes all opened browser.

    (4)disable the firewall temporarily.

    (5) open only Adobe Web site as it is safe and secure site free of all kind of threats.

    (6) then try to download CS 6 Design Standard and check.

Note: Though the firewall is disabled. do not open applications, files or even other Web sites.

Or if you think it is still very slow and would not turn off the firewall , you can try with 3' rd party like download managers: IInternet Download Manager , which is more efficient than the browser built in downloader.

  • Slow downloads with new laptop Hp 2000

I just a new Hp 2000 laptop 2b16nr with Windows 8 and my download speed is maxing out at about 33 kbps, it is usually between 10-30. My Compaq laptop, I had before that it had no problem with the download speed, I was getting about 1 Mbit/s and it was quite old, around 2006. I tried a lot to it solve this problem. I downloaded all the updates for Windows ccleaned reset all to maximize space, both my modem and my wireless router, several times, ran the troubleshooting to find problems, run antivirus scans, updated all my drivers, and nothing has done so far.

Is this something that has happened to the new laptops? Does anyone else have this problem?

MacBook my girlfriend works as well, also about 1 Mbps as my Compaq had.

    Need help on this.

What brand and model is the router?

Research on this issue on the Internet, has revealed that a few users have had varying success with different solutions that have worked for them.

Have you updated the firmware on the router? Similar experiences occurred when Windows Vista and 7 have been released. Most of the brands had a firmware of the router out fairly quickly.

Remains the low speed when connected to the charger?

A step that seems to work for many people with this issue changed the wifi security in the router to WPA if WPA2. I don't know if this applies to you, as you already can use WPA or can even not routers of same that they have. However, it is interesting to try for testing purposes.

  • New laptop and download the applications is very slow

Just bought the new laptop is stuck with win8 as the only thing available.  It took 2 days (11 hours) to open the account of ms to get to email.  Now he's just hanging.  Thought to download ms Pinball, game tried, after an hour, it was 8% done, stopped.  This is typical of access to anything on the net.  Pages that came in a second XP now take more than a minute to 8.  Everything is delayed.

No I've not added anything, have not changed anything, have read the news and played cards.

Features are so sensitive that happening sites and programs if I place my hand on the keyboard.

It's horrible, I can get windows XP and remove windows 8?

Is there a way to make it useful?

    HELP HELP

Your question is not very clear.

As long as you have internet connection, Microsoft Account opening should not take more than a few minutes and you can always connect to Windows 8 without Microsoft Account.

For new PC, first you need to run Windows Update and install all updates. Even if the updates to day will install automatically, but you can do it yourself too.

If your internet connection is not fast loading, it might be because update is ongoing enforcement and once installed all updates your PC would be quick. I'm not sure what you are referring to the sensitive features but it could be features provided by the manufacturer of your PC and not as in some Windows PC, you can use your mouse pad to open the start screen or scroll down.

It is NOT recommended to install Windows XP because it is supported and you download the update or support for Windows XP more.

  • I NEED HELP TO CHOOSE A NEW LAPTOP!

I recently bought a HP laptop, and in the first month, it was returned three times for problems and different issues.  After countless hours talking with the staff of the it Department got the opportunity to get a new laptop.  The only problem is that they do not have the same laptop I purchased available.  Mine has the following: AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core processor TK-57 and 512 (1.9 GHz), 250 GB HDD, Super Multi 8 x dvd = r/rw Double layer, 4096 MB DDR2 SDRAM, Vista premium (64-bit) and everything else he HP come with.  It's a dv2941se.  HP wants to give me dv4t with: (32-bit), 2.0 GHz processor, 3 GB memory, 320 GB 9200 graphics card hard drive, same primary super multi 8 x, HP HDTV hybrid Tuner, a high capacity cell 6, and then all the rest of the normal devices for the computer.  I need to know if it's a good thing and a fair trade.  I don't know what to do!  I don't like that they me downing to a 3 GB and do not allow me to get even a special edition.  Help, please!  I HAVE UNTIL MONDAY MORNING TO MAKE A DECISION.

The T6400 is a processor Core 2 Duo is a 64-bit processor, which is an improvement of AMD. We have a guy who post here a little which I believe can work for AMD and he can jump in and challenge me, but the Intel Core 2 Duo processor is faster at the same clock speed, cooler, quieter and has longer than AMD. 3 concerts vs 4 is not really a big deal except that now you mix a stick of 1 gig and 2 gig stick and you will lose support for memory dual channel and Vista 32-bit vs 64-bit Vista will be actually more compatible software and devices, but is a little slower than 64-bit. I think overall you did a side passage or improving slightly, however, simply by the fact you get a current generation machine. The new laptops HP dv5, dv5 dv7 series beyond the problems that plagued the series dvxxxx. And most of the problems in this series were the AMD models. You may not use 4 GB of RAM, unless you get the 64 bit version of Vista, in any case, but it is better to have 2 identical, memory sticks so that it works in dual channel so 4 gigs is better even with a 32-bit of Windows that uses only 3. Do they not have to offfer you with 4 GB of RAM? If this isn't the case, you could update these days for like $25.

  • Questions about upgrading or if I should just get a new laptop instead.

Good history is therefore, I soon go to the College, and they need to each student to have a laptop. Now my laptop is not exactly in the best conditions (on a scale of excellent to broken I would say it is good) and there is certainly an upgrade and repair or two.

At this moment I have a HP Pavilion 9720us the only update with 2 GB of RAM instead of 1 GB. It's also like a broken webcam.

Currently, I am convinced that I have to upgrade the video card and the motherboard but also to repair the built in webcam.

I'm not too knowledgeable in repair laptops, and I don't know what are the parts would be compatible with my laptop.

So my question is should I go for repairs or just a new laptop?

And if I should go for repairs which parts I should get and where would be a good place to get the upgrades?

A laptop with the least amount of bloat ware on it, the better _ Sony, Toshiba. HP is OK if you close all unnecessary programs running down at startup, as HP Support Assistant, HP Dock and Gadgets Windows, even if it is not an HP application he devours resources and slows down the startup time.

If you use it in the game, so no laptop is good for this, they all have an insufficient cooling, there are some that are specifically for the games, but they start at around $ 1200.00 + and those who, like of being robbed.

If you're on a budget, put an additional Stick of RAM in your old and use it with an external hard drive. Keep all your stuff to school the disk external hard and if old laptop craps out, you have lost nothing. The external hard drive can be used on any machine.

If you plan to do video editing then you need at least 4 GB of RAM with an 'i' series processor. Now, all computers will be 64-bit with at least 3 GB of RAM, but it's the bare minimum. Some of the books very small note will be always 32 bits, but they would not make a good machine for College, hard disks are too small and most of the people do not have a DVD player.

Any computer will perform simple Word document application and save images.

Only you know what you're going to do with it, and I gave you a few suggestions.

  • Trying to avoid the junk on my new laptop

I just bought a new HP Envy laptop. It arrived yesterday and today I received a standard email from Microsoft saying that I have 95 significant updates that I need to download. I trust to Microsoft, but do not want to load a bunch of useless junk that I don't have that could slow my new laptop. Any recommendations?

    Hello

Open windows control panel, and then open Windows Update.  Click on "View available updates" and if there is no optional updates, deselect them.  Otherwise, you must apply all operating system updates (or updates of Microsoft products such as Office 2010 installed) that are available.

    Kind regards

  • Buy a new laptop

Hey guys, I don't know exactly where to post this question so I'm sorry if I chose the wrong advice. I'll buy a new laptop after finding that it would be quite expensive to upgrade my only current because it has a close-knit motherboard. I'm willing to pay a pretty penny for a new, but I want to assure you that I do so wisely. I definitely want to stay with a HP laptop, but I wondered what one to get. I read that the 6th generation intel core i7 is not only significantly different from the 7th generation, so if I could get a 6th that would diminish how much I spend. I also read upward on hard disks compared to SSD and the effectiveness of the two discs, as well as HD Graphics cards from intel with NVIDIA graphics cards. What I ask is essentially what should I pay attention to and be prepared to spend a little extra for because it will significantly improve the performance of the laptop. I use my laptop for school work, but I also like playing Sims on it has been ridiculously slow and current lag on my laptop with i3 processor. Thanks for any information you can give me.

I guess you are still waiting for a response to your last post. Maybe, I can add to the info already above.

Right, I've actually read these articles before and have found them very useful is, but I'm still uncertain on what I should take in a laptop. For example, with the games I'm going to do is it better for me to get a 1 TB hard drive, a 256 GB SSD or a hybrid of the two.

An SSD will give you performance much faster when you start the operating system from a program (especially games), video rendering, etc. etc. An SSD will give you the difference in most remarkable overall speed of any hardware upgrade.

Some laptops have the ability to have an SSD and HDD. It is the most ideal that you can load the operating system and programs on the SSD, then use the HARD drive for storage. I'd look for 250 GB or more in an SSD.

What graphics card should I use, an Intel HD Graphics 620 is going to be significantly different from a NVIDIA GeForce 940MX?

The integrated graphics integrated in the CPU will be never as powerful as a dedicated graphics card.

Embedded video works very well for an average as use watching a video, browsing the web, basic photoshop work.

The ability to make quick graphic intense games depends on what game you play, and play on which dedicated map settings you have.

Shopping for a car. Power/speed costs money. The more you spend, the faster the car.

A 740M nvidia does not have a very powerful graphics card.

For the high-end gaming, get the faster you can help.

The most recent nvidia 1060 m with dedicated memory would be a good start if play stuff like cod or battlefield. The Sims on the other hand, is not as demanding and you could come out with intel integrated. The Sims 4 also has a parameter to optimize it for the graphics of the laptop.

Integrated video is based entirely on the use of the computers for the memory Ram and is slower. Dedicated video has its own memory built in and does not need to ram system unless he runs.

    A Core i7 6th generation is significantly slower than a Core i7 7th generation?

The amount of system memory should I get?

There will always be many opinions on this type of subject. The biggest difference that I've read about this is that the 7th gen will have much better video handling 4 k, if you use the built in graphics of the CPU.  Otherwise, it's not a big gain in overall performance. But the latest models of PC usually have the latest hardware, so no worries anyway.

7th generation CPU will only work Windows 10, no downgrading to Win7.

Most of the gaming laptops will come with 8 GB of memory minimum. Who should handle most everything you do, except if you plan to make multimedia processing such as photoshop, video files high-end rendering in Premier Pro, etc.   If that's what you do, then more is better.

IF you are willing to spend money on a higher end game system, take a look at HP Omen.

Its configurable so that you can upgrade the hardware on the basic model to purchase.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Hope that answers your questions.

  • My laptop is slow and uses up to 100 percent of the disk

Hello. To start things, I want to confess that I am not the computer geek. I know how to handle a thing or two, but if you want to help, please describe each step to solve my problems one by one. I would like a clear and detailed explanation and thank you for spending the time trying to help me.

Well, I use a X550L from ASUS. Purchased 3 months ago and used it quite often. It has a 4 GB RAM, OS of Windows 8, although I tried to install the free Windows 8.1 it never change. It also has a NVIDIA GEFORCE 720 m. All parts was original I've ever hardware upgrades. The last two days were a nightmare for me. I couldn't sleep thinking about the problem I have with this laptop. It's new, and this problem worries me because I'm looking at a laptop that I would use for another 3 years. If the question was:

    1. as if the title has not made clear enough, my laptop runs very slowly. Let me describe how SLOW is. I start up my laptop and open my utorrent then I'll check my disk usage in the Task Manager, it shows 100%. Don't tell me Defrag, adjust my virtual memory, disable superfetch and microsoft service because I did all this and nothing changes. Well actually it changed for some time, but whenever I open utorrent as soon as I turn on my laptop, the disk usage percentage increased up to 100%. Also sometimes it drops as all methods suggest he would.

    2. my second question is that because of my laptop uses all available RAM, I can't open any files or applications or even Chrome without having to lose 5-20 seconds of my life waiting. Sometimes even more which is very frustrating for a daily user like me. Believe me I never open too many files to work in one, but it happens as if I did.

I can sound crazy, but I'm not. I'm just frustrated by this I'm having problems. I'm not rich guy immediately buy new laptop. I'm very sentimental. I want to solve this problem and to let go of this problem that seems awkward to me. Please help guys.

    Thank you.

  • In a new laptop, what configuration is the best use of Adobe products?

It's time to replace my aging laptop, and frequently - use Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop and InDesign products more often. I am open to any suggestion on setting up a new laptop. I been a PC user for always - supporters of Mac who believe a Mac to be 'better' when working with graphics have yet to convince me. I was always able to comfortably achieve my goals with my PC. I am open to be convinced, if there is really a valid reason.

A computer is not as fast as its slow component... how to maximize my new system?

You must take good care of your equipment.

If you are short of space, you should consider an iMac. You get a little more power (and an absolutely wonderful screen), in a pretty small format of all things considered.

If you want a Windows laptop, Asus, Lenovo and Dell XPS are all very good choices. This particular ASUS machine (the UX501VW Pro ZenBook) seems perfect. Big screen. A lot of power. And a MacBook Pro or Dell XPS with similar specs is $ 500 more.

  • Buy the new laptop for Premiere and After Effects

Hey! I am looking for a new laptop in the order of € 1200, maybe a little more. I'm editing 1080 p (sometimes at 60 fps), but in AE I want to change the templates and create an animation cool intros. Nothing super advanced yet but I want it to be smooth, because on my laptop today, it's super slow (read at 3-12 fps in AE). I also want to Premiere Pro to be faster, especially when I add effects like stabilization deform and it takes too long to make. Sometimes I use hearing, prelude, Photoshop, Illustrator, but especially the first and AE. I want to do a few 4K changes in the future, but that might be too much for my budget. Or not? The reason why I want a laptop is because I want the opportunity to travel and work.
