New Nvidia driver(v8.17.12.6721 / 1.2.22.1) bug graphics

My laptop is t410 with nvidia nvs model m3100 2516CTO. After updating to the new version of graphic 8.17.12.6721 / 1.2.22.1, it there a few problems occurred. The background of the window of connection in windows 7 looks like in 16 bit color and in videos and games, it works too in 16-bit color.

After trying to reinstall the driver several times, I almost confirm it's bugs. Now I'm back to the previous version, it works normally.

Are there others had this problem?

  • Missing W550s latest NVIDIA driver for Win8.1?

    Hi all

I'm working reasonably modern CUDA on my W550s, so I was sad to find that for the 8.1 of Windows, we have pilot 341.01 (n11dl37w), while Windows 7 64-bit has 345.20 (n11dn11w).

Of course, neither of these is the 347.le xx that I prefer, but because NVIDIA does not reference drivers upward, the best that I can hope request on the forum if somebody has got a new NVIDIA driver running on x 64 Win8.1.

  • A Windows Update which included a NVIDIA driver's day, now of video problems

A few days ago, I installed a driver NVIDIA update in the updates of windows.  Since then, I have had problems with the video screen goes blank.  Whenever I was forced to do a power cycle to recover. Several times.  After awhile, I had to reinstall Windows 7, no surprise.  But, even after this reinstall I still see video problems.  I used this machine for 8 years and never had a problem before this video.  Never.  It is a new problem that came with the installation of the update of the driver.  It seems that the NVIDIA installation has changed something that Windows 7 reinstall couldn't fix!  Looks like something in the video card or the BIOS.

I expect that any change in the inner workings of windows, including that the registry would be more written by Windows 7 reinstall.  This is a full installation.  Not a repair.  I tried a repair, but didn't work, so a complete installation.

The update of the included NVIDIA driver NVIDIA console could be appearing in the Panel.  This console configures the driver settings, without going through the windows interface.   What did do?  May have changed the firmware on the card?  May have changed the NIC of the OS?  Maybe something changed in the BIOS.  That was the case, the change persisted after reinstallation of Windows 7.  Yesterday, to installed the provided Comcast Norton security suite.  After the death of the first installation of the video.  I did an uninstall/reinstall and it seems ok at the moment.  Never had this problem before.  Initially, this machine has Windows XP and has been updated to Windows 7.  On both versions of the OS, I have installed security software and never no problem.  Not until this update of NVIDIA driver has been installed with the console software.

I have really no need for their new console super driver.  I'm not a player, just need to get my system back to a reliable State.

While searching for a solution on the internet, I'm a LOT see people with this problem.  It seems that this has been a matter of months.  Since I have this problem while performing a Microsoft provided update, Microsoft must weigh on this and get NVIDIA to present a real difficulty.

After having the same DELL machine for 8 years, I thought to be updated to a mini pc.   A shoe more small print on my desk.  But I'm very concerned about getting a machine with NVIDIA graphics.  Also, I now seem that one cannot assume the updates from Microsoft to be sure.

Of course, this seems to be a driver problem.  I don't know if the NVidia updates change firmware on the card.

If this computer is a variety of funds, and I presume that it is or it would not still be alive after 8 years, your best solution will be to go to the computer store and buy a low range graphics card that will fit in your PC.  Probable cost is less than $50.  Only problem is you need to know what type of video slot machine MB of your computer has.  The video card must adapt it.

If you tell us the brand / model of the PC, we are able to provide more help.

I should add that my PC is about 6 years old and has a NVidia video card.  I made the mistake of getting a new NVidia driver also.  He made a number of problems.  Finally, I solved it by uninstalling and removing all components of NVidia.  Then by restarting.  I remember not but either Windows installed the right driver or it has been updated for Windows installed.  No problem since.

nVidia is not really interested in visitors like us.  Their focus is on the players.  Accordingly, users like we end up with a software that is very different from what we actually need.

  • Satellite P100 - 286 PSPAG: need new nVidia 7900 GS driver for Vista

As with a number of other posters I've read, the graphics performance on my P100 with a nVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS are not good on Vista 32 bit. Frequent stuttering after a few moments of reasonably moderate use.

The latest driver on the Toshiba site is only 9748 since 15/03/07 and the nVidia site does not provide for the 7900 GS Go Vista drivers.

laptopvideo2go site appears to be in trouble at the moment, but some drivers tried it with no difference in performance in any case.

Any suggestions? Does anyone know if Toshiba are planning to make a new Vista driver anytime soon? Is this typical Vista teething probs, and I have to just wait until SP1 later in the year?

The P100 is a computer laptop, nice, but being paralyzed at the moment by the graphics card.

    Hello

I noticed that some users have reported a graphic stutter only while playing games.
But after installing Windows XP graphic stuttering is gone!

I also read on the results of 3DMark and Win XP gets much better results under Win Vista. I think that the most important reason is that Vista needs a lot more material resources as first Microsoft OS.

In any case, I think that the first service pack for Vista Microsoft will increase the performance of Vista and games will run smoothly.

  • HP Envy 14-J009tx: updating the Nvidia driver is blocked?

So, I bought this laptop last month, and I tried updating the Nvidia graphics driver for the last of the 347.52 version supplied with it. I opened the GeForce experience app to update, it tells me that it is impossible to connect to Nvidia. Not still even though I changed my home network to the endearing phone, it won't let me update, saying that it cannot connect to Nvidia and I should try again later. I also checked the firewall and AVG (I changed the antivirus immediately after purchase) and allows the application to access the internet.

So my question is: is it done deliberately by HP or there may be something wrong with the whole of my ISP? And besides, I am interested in upgrading to Windows 10, will there be any problem with all the app that requires Nvidia? I really need the graphics I want to do a lot of CAD in the future.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello MalvinVVV ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on Nvidia driver update and I wanted to help.

It's generally a BAD idea to update the video drivers laptop NVIDIA (or AMD) because the OEM manufacturers often use specialized versions of video chipsets for which these pilots are not suitable.  The best approach is to update only from the OEM drivers.

This link is to HP for your PC product page: http://support.hp.com/sg-en/product/HP-ENVY-14-Notebook-PC-series/7771343/model/8524508/drivers

If you press the check now button, he will see if there is new video HP drivers for your PC, download and install them.  If there is no newer drivers, I would leave it alone.

In addition, I checked the same page to see if there are drivers HP Win10 and there are.  So, if you decide to upgrade to Win10, you will be able to get drivers HP.

    Good luck

  • P100-240: Driver Toshiba GPU is old, Nvidia driver does not allow fan?

    Hello

I was wondering if Toshiba could explain their choice here.

My laptop recently got sent for repair because he himself burned because of me using my p100-240 (pspa3e) Nvidias own drivers.

    The problem here is that:

    (a) Toshibas drivers for this card are over a year old and sometimes buggy in new games
    (b) Toshiba does not seem to have followed the specifications of Nvidia (that or there is a problem with ACPI in the bios...)

so, to use the portable computers Nvidia drivers fan don't hit, sending the temperature systems up to 106cand finally to turn it off. He turned his back, but then, basic graphic acceleration did not work.

SO, can we get an updated driver version? OR some kind of fan control app? or you can update your bios to allow nvidias drivers to operate?

I feel that I can't use my laptop to his function at the moment - I came back to the installation of a driver of pc non-ACPI to force fans to stay on which works well but the basic system then functions like disable do not work.

I have also been informed that this design flaw could be considered that the system is "not fit for purpose" slot in which case I could simply return the laptop under the sale of goods Act.

But really, I would just get my system working properly. It's bad enough not being able to run Linux on it, but even worse that windows does not work with it with official drivers.

One more question: can I get the old BIOS? several fixes to work with them but not with bios 4.0 (mainly linux fixed but as long it works OS that I don't like!)

Tips on it are also welcome! Thanks for your help. :-)

    Hello

    > I was wondering if Toshiba could explain their choice here.
If you want to hear something Toshiba you need to communicate with them. This forum is only a user to user forum and unfortunately you will not find anyone from Toshiba here.

    But maybe you want to hear my opinion;

    > My laptop recently got sent for repair because he himself burned because of me using my p100-240 (pspa3e) Nvidias own drivers.
(> a) Toshibas drivers for this card are over a year old and sometimes buggy in new games
Well, a lot of portable Toshiba are distributed and equipped graphics cards. Maybe look in other series of laptops that are delivered with the same card for a newer driver from the GPU.
But, you are right, and the graphics drivers from Toshiba are generally a bit older than the original of the GPU manufacturer.
Why? First the nVidia or ATI original drivers are not designed for the use of the laptop. Here are the drivers for desktop PC graphics cards. I visited the region for mobile drivers and found information that I watch on laptop manufacturer's site! That says it all!

(> b) Toshiba does not seem to have followed the specifications of Nvidia (that or there is a problem with ACPI in the bios...)
As mentioned above the original GPU drivers are not designed for the use of the laptop.
Why? Because the laptop GPU can not be cooled as graphics cards for desktop PC!
The own drivers from Toshiba support thermal protection that allows to avoid damage GPU!

The original nVidia or ATI drivers do not support this overheating protection!
If you want to use these drivers, you can do this ONLY at your own risk!

    > Can I get the old BIOS?
It seems that Toshiba page provides only the most recent BIOS. Maybe the registered maintainer can help you and you could send an older version of BIOS.
Two years ago, I contacted the ASP in my country and got a first version of my BIOS for the A50

    Hello ILO - clearly,.

I was looking on this thread and noticed something very important - it only happens on the nVidia drivers.

Is this correct? If this is the case, then we might want to hire nVidia on this issue.

  • T61p 6460-DVU - nvidia driver unloads randomly

I am a support person office experimented with a few deployments of massive laptops under my belt, and it drives me crazy:

We recently bought about 12 T61p laptop of CDW. It comes to this specification:

T9300(2.5GHz), 2 GB RAM, 160 GB 7200 RPM HD, LCD 15.4 in 1680 x 1050, 256 MB nVIDIA Quadro FX 570 M, CD-RW/DVD-RW, Intel 802.11agn wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1 Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, secure chip, fingerprint, Li - ion, WinXP Pro 9 c reader

We have upgraded the ram to 4 GB.

The problem, I continue to have is the Nvidia driver randomly discharge itself or hangs and does not appear in the display panel, it said "Nvidia XXX on Thinkpad LCD" instead of "on". No video more acceleration. Windows draw like a 286.

Sometimes the issue is fixed with a complete system shutdown, sometimes it doesn't. He arrived on the dock with a monitor installed and the dock without having a. I tried the latest driver Nvidia for the 570 M on the Lenovo site, no difference. Also tried the new Director of presentation and more recent update of BIOS, no difference. He arrived more than one of the 12 that we bought, several times.

I thought it could have been a corrupted image, I did so I started on the IBM CD recovery. I had installed SP3 of XP, MS office 2007 and some other random applications, of which none had nothing to do with the video card. He did it again, unloaded the driver. shut down and restart disappear that day, but for how long?

I don't know what else to check at this point, so far I have excluded that it is our image of the laptop, because he did the same thing with a freshly restored (after installing SP3).

Monitor resolution or profiles of switching with presentation Manager seems to be a catalyst for it to do, but it does without changing any resolution sometimes as well.

I tried to download the software of nvidia control panel but just using the driver, and which seemed to make it happen less, but there's t - it.

The only thing I have not tried is completely uninstall Manager presentation and do not use it at all. I think it might be a problem with the Director of the presentation and the nvidia card in this laptop, but I have no idea.

Does anyone have advice for me? I already talked to lenovo and their support is worthless. He comes to ask me to send them the laptop. It occurs on several laptops so that will not help me. Support of CEP was a little more helpful, but it's always a dead end.

I just want to post a response here because I found out why the problem occurred, after at least 2 weeks of troubleshooting.

We use a parameter in the boot.ini XP called the "/ 3GB" switch.  This switch allows programs that require a lot of memory to access physical ram more than without it and restricted drivers windows/1 GB of memory (I could be wrong on that, but that's what I said).

Unfortunately, as we discovered - the Nvidia Quadro FX 570 M card do not have this setting, and it doesn't have enough RAM to start correctly when the computer starts.  It then uses the generic adapter "VGASAVE' that windows uses when the video card is not working properly.

There is a tweak to be able to continue to use this switch/3 GB, here called the switch/USERVA, detailed on the microsoft site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316739. I used /USERVA:2950 in the boot.ini file and the card works properly again.

I hope someone on google reads this thread and not wasting so much time that I had to try to solve this problem.  We never had this problem with ATI X 1300/X 1400 in the Thinkpad T60, however.
