New SSD in the unrecognized NVMe host controller card

I bought a chip Samsung SSD of 951 m2, discovered that I need a host controller card for it, got one, installed the assembly and found out that it is not recognized as a mass storage device, or a disk, or anything else, but a Council NVMe and only in System Profiler. The Samsung chip is invisible.  Nothing on the desktop. After looking into it, it seems that the Apple of NVMe version is non-standard. The Mac Pro is a 5.1. 2010-2012, the operating system is El Capitan 10.11.3. NVMe controller is a host AbleConn PCIe NVMe m2 adapter. This mixture is ever going to work? Apple will come with a driver who run it it?

Currently money Mac Pro Tower do not support NVMe but who may be coming

Ugggh.  I have a 27-inch iMac late 2011 and the hard drive was updated with a new SSD.  The integrated cd/dvd had to be taken out.  I then bought a thought of superdrive, it should work.  It's frozen on my iMac!  Gee, who could have possibly guessed that would happen?  I tried all kinds of silly workarounds, I found on the internet, but still it will not register the stack of DVDs and other discs I have.

If you're like me and upgraded your iMac that came with a cd/dvd drive internal... so he has to come out to give way to the fusion or the SSD drive, do NOT buy the apple superdrive.  It will work with your computer!

Think I'll get a laptop samsung...

Ironic, isn't it? Own Apple SuperDrive will not work with Apple computers. Shame you don't check here first that we would have warned you. Return Apple overpriced and buy a nice third-party player for a third of the price. I love the LG units. You can consider a loading plate because they are more reliable, and you can use these pesky disc when you get one.

  • HP Touchsmart 15R017dx: install windows 8.1 on new SSD from the recovery disk

    Hello

I recently bought a 275 GB SDD to replace a Go 520 crushed SATA HDD. Because I don't have a recovery disk created, I ordered the HP Win 8.1 recovery disks. I followed the instructions and the Disk 1 formatting process completed successfully and I was prompted to insert disk 2. At this stage the process crashes after the dvd player starts rotating. Nothing I o will cause the process to continue.  The problem is the size of different readers?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello:

See if, by your own plain W8.1 installation media, you can reinstall Windows 8.1.

    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows8

The only downside is the OEM product key in the BIOS.

However, there are workarounds like the one shown below to find out how to get the product key in the BIOS to work on your new installation...

  • Envy 15 t-j000: upgrade of 15 t-j000 to win 10 and new SSD at the same time

    Hello

My cell phone is 8 GB, 1 TB with the 24Go running Windows 8.1 MSSD.

I want to upgrade to 10 windows, but do not want to 'upgrade' this particular configuration.  What I would do is update my 16 GB ram and my HD to a 1 TB SSD.

    (1) upgrade to 16 GB means that I can't use the WSSD of 24 GB than anything more correct?  I guess if I upgrade the essential motivation for one SSD I more need for MSSD. Or is - that's a good idea to upgrade the WSSD to 32 GB then the swap file on a drive "distinct"?  (is this obsolete technology, old school board?)

    (2) is there a way to download Windows 10 and burn on a DVD or USB installation and then install "fresh" of without first upgrading my mechanical drive Windows 8.1?  The reason is, I'm a student, I can't have my laptop down for awhile so I can't afford a 1/100 chance I'm going to kill my laptop and Miss assignments.  I think if I start the upgrade and have problems, I can put the old drive, remove the extra memory and get until I can afford more downtime.

Anyway, any help on this is appreciated.  My computer works very well for being a 2 years, so if I can't do it a bit without pain, I'll go ahead and leave it as what.  Thanks for any idea you may have.

The clean install with Windows 10 will require that buy you it and the upgrade is free, updates and I did probably 15 to 20 of them, went virtually flawless for me. If you clone, just do a "sizing" of leave and small differences will be accrued.

  • E540: Dolby Advanced Audio v2 cannot be installed on the new SSD

    Hello

the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 question keeps grinding my gears. The situation:

I added a second drive (SSD) successfully to the E540, everything works and is configured correctly. I still have the disk original in place and achieved 8.1 Windows (x 64) installed on both drives. However, I can't run Dolby Advanced Audio v2 when starting Windows Setup (fees) on the SSD. Just after starting, or you try to start the application, there is a Windows error message telling me that the Dolby-driver cannot be executed, and I have to reinstall the application if the error continues to exist.

When booting from the original HARD disk there is no problem with Dolby Advanced Audio v2, the application works very well. Every time booting from SSD error message appears.

I know that it is a known problem and I read all of the information that is out there on the internet. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the DRIVERS on C: several times record, everything was installed in orders different and tried almost all of the combinations use the audio CONFIGURATION, Setup in DOLBY, the UIUa64 and so on. I can't install correctly Dolby Advanced Audio v2 on the new SSD. The installation ends and Dolby Advanced Audio v2 is displayed in the list of installed programs, but at the end of the installation, the error message also occurs.

(I followed exactly the solutions reported for other systems, but none of them worked for me. Please tell me in what order I should run the driver setup (s) for my E540 if you think that it is a source of possible error).

I don't really know what could cause the error during the (apparently) accurate installation still work when starting from the original HARD drive? I would really really appreciate advice that could help me solve the problem.

    See you soon

(PS: I speak not of Dolby Digital Plus, but Advanced Audio v2!) The Dolby Digital Plus the user interface is available on the SSD. The sound quality varies considerably between the two installations of Windows on the SSD and HARD drive and the loss of sound quality is unacceptable for me.)

I found the solution to my problem in this thread:

    https://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/Lenovo-3000-and-essential/how-to-change-FOM-Dolby-Digital-Plus-interfac...

Didn't think to try the Win8 pilot... my bad, but I hope this helps others.

  • Problem installing ssd in the new HP H8 - 1437c

I installed and cloned the C: drive on the new SSD using the data migration software provided with the SSD drive. I use Windows 8.

    • How can I now boot from the SSD?  I tried to set it as the startup disk.
    • What I first need to erase the original HD? or is it possible to keep windows on both drives?
    • Can I migrate the original HD recovery partition to SSD?

I moved the SATA cable for the SSD drive to post the original HD was in.  I also tried to disconnect the original HD and just boot from the SSD drive, but Windows doesn't load.

This is a brand new computer and I'm moving all on the SSD before starting to install anything.  The SSD is 120 GB and has plenty of room for the operating system.

I'm not familiar with the system bios UEFI (spelling?).  Why not just select to boot from the SSD drive? What is 'Bootable Windows disc'

Thanks guys I think I solved it. I used these instructions to change the drive letter.  http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/223188

  • Activate the upgrade of windows 8 installed the new SSD

Yesterday, I received a new SSD and I wanted to replace my current SSD. I knew it was not going to be easy to do this, I think that MS hates me :-(.

In any case, I have a 8 win upgrade key. So what I did is first install win 7 on my new SSD but the problem was, I couldn't activate win 7. The message was that this key was already in use (which could be true because my current SSD has been improved for this key).

So I continued and installed win 8 hollow upgrade its Web site. Finally, when I try to activate I get this lovely error "0xc004c003 the activation server determined that the specified product key is blocked. I googled and the result was MS hates you. Now, I am very sad and don't know what I just loved and hated not being. I tried phone activation and other tips of register of google, but it wouldn't help.

If I plug my old SSD I can see that windows 8 is enabled and works but I don't know how to get a clean install on my new SSD.

    Please stop hating me :'-(

    Try the phone activation:

    1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4

    2. then press the ENTER"" key.

    3. Select your "country" in the list.

    4. choose the option "activate phone".

    5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Stop error SCSI/RAID Host Controller Windows 7 upgrade

Hey, I hope someone can help me here. I get the following error message when you try to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Vista Home Premium 64-bit:

Upgrade Advisor does not list the problem but I agreed to look for updates during the installation and he did then. My computer. is a HP Pavilion Slimline s3650f model.

    Upgrade Advisor listed issues were:

-Hardware Diagnostic tools - update available (the latest version of Vista 64 bit is installed. "I think I can wait until Windows 7 is installed to update, right?)

-Labelprint (version 2.2.2913 came pre-installed on my computer. I Sure Thing CD Labeler so I can uninstall if necessary, but I doubt that would be the problem)

-Photosmart C4500 (DOT4PRINT) - status: unknown (I have the C4599 printer and a search on the windows Compatibility Center site 7 it lists as compatible.) I'll check the updates of driver after upgrade).

I Lavalys Everest Ultimate Edition and did some looking into my COMP specs... I'm sure you guys have not need all this information, but I prefer to give too much information than not enough.
I'll start by providing 3 pictures the computer on my computer summary:

I did a search on the support of Microsoft answers forum and found some people HERE (I've posted there but nobody answered me. This is an old thread. I'll start a new if necessary.) saying updated their BIOS got rid of this message, but I installed 5.18 version (as well as from 06/2008 & later on the site of HP in 2008-09. Could it be the cause?)

However, as you can see there is a link to upgrade the BIOS in Everest that takes you to esupport.com which you install biosagentplus and offer a free scan.
Here are pictures of my results:

Also, I followed the download link for the BIOS to asus.com looking for some info but finds it difficult to find anything. Maybe I'm in the right place.

I don't have a method further up until I get some other opinions on the situation. Is it possible that a program is causing this problem or is it really a hardware problem?

I would add also on an attempt to upgrade it has no force to leave me and tried to install. In my opinion, he got completely installed and got to the final reboot but it gave an error that it could not be installed and rolled back to Vista.

If more info is needed please ask. I hope that someone has ideas. If this isn't the case, I can try the Microsoft forum.

Well, I finally got upgraded to Windows 7 just now here and my boy I feel like a fool d * n. I unplugged my external hard drive, uninstalled my printer and other external usb devices and was about to start uplugging my tuner TV, graphics card, thinking that one of them was the problem, then I uninstalled Alcohol 120% and poof, the SCSI/RAID host controller error disappeared. Also just to be sure, that I uninstalled Kaspersky Internet Security to ensure that it would not interfere with the installation and reinstalled after.

Still a lot of things to study but most of the time. The only problem I've come across so far is the HP Solution Center detects no not my printer. I printed a test page, there is work. I do not know if the program just needs updating or if I need to uninstall and reinstall the software, but it shouldn't be a major issue anyway.

So far the system running much more quickly than before and I'm loving the new features. I will continue to pick up my pride on the floor that I check things and remind anyone that gets this issue uninstall Alcohol or Daemon Tools, if they are installed.

  • Installation of El Capitan on default of new SSD

    Hello

I'm trying to upgrade my MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid-2012), install a new SSD and run the operating system on it.

    Here's what I did:

I bought the 'OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6 G' with a cube of data. I removed my optical drive; installed my old HD (running the operating system) in the data Doubler; and install the new SSD in the main Bay.

I downloaded El Capitan of the 'App Store' and then used «DiskMaker X 5 "to make a bootable usb key.»

Restarted my computer laptop and booted from USB and the installation of El Capitan. From there, I formatted the new SSD (Mac OS extended (journaled) with a single partition GUID).

After running down the clock of the installation (about 5 minutes), I get the message "an error occurred during the preparation of the installation. Try to rerun this application".

Without having to restart the mac, if I try to install the OS again, I'm not able to find the SSD.

If I restart the laptop and start in the OS on my old HD, I'll find the SSD here on my desk. (Sometimes it take a couple of reboots for my Mac see the SSD).

And then I try all this again, with the same results.

    I tried other things:

    Reset the PRAM.

Manual clock setting in the Terminal since the installation of punt. (Although it was not bad in the first place)

I also tried to set the clock to AST (Arabia standard time) as I live in Saudi Arabia.

Other than my SSD is defective, any ideas on what can I do to solve this problem?

    Hi Blackcells:

I guess that you entered in "System Preferences" > "Startup disk" and set to your original drive data Doubler.

Try to remove your new SSD and put it in an external case OWC external box or using a USB to SATA adapter SATA USB adapter and connect it to your MBP via USB.

Open disk utility > delete and format the SSD for Mac OS extended (journaled) and a GUID partition.

Then, use a third party application like Carbon Copy Cloner Carbon Copy Cloner (not free, but worth the price) or Super Duper to copy all data from the HARD drive internal as well as the recovery partition.

The clone will be an exact copy of your hard drive and it will be bootable.

Start the MBP with the OPTION key and select the new SSD.

If it starts the MBP, proceed to the physical interchange of disks.

  • SCSI/RAID Host Controller, reports "tv_ConfigMgrErr39".

My computer is telling me to contact the manufacturer of your device to download the software, but in its properties, there is no listed manufacturer. Hello

To be honest I don t know what you re talking. It would help if you could post some information like your laptop model.

39 error code usually means that there is a driver problem so I updated the driver. You can find the latest version on the Toshiba site.

Sorry mate, but that s all I can say at the moment.

  • M100: Need driver for SD Card Host Controller & IR Port

    Hello

Can someone tell me if I can get the drivers for M100 Secure Digital (SD) Host Controller Card?

I had an accident on my M100 and had to rebuild my machine, everything works fine expect the IR Port & SD Card. Can someone tell me if I can get the drivers.

    REDA

    Hello

Usually the IR port doesn't need any further pilots.
It uses a standard Windows driver and you won't find any Toshiba IrDA drivers for this device. It doesn t exist.
    This route allows to install the IrDA driver;
    C:\Windows\System32

There you should find all the standard Microsoft drivers for common devices
