New tab page is completely empty.
I had to reset my firefox this morning, because something has installed Snap.do, and now whenever I click on the new tab button, it is completely empty. There is no icon ' Show/hide', and there is no pinned sites. It is all white and white. I use the new tab page to go to Web sites that I use often, and it's annoying that it's not there. I've tried everything I've found so far, and nothing has worked. Anyone know what to do?
You can check the value of the browser.newtab.url pref on the topic: config page to ensure that it is always set to: newtab.
If you do not keep the changes after a reboot or have problems with preferences, see:

When I open a new tab, I used to get a page which had tiles for some of the sites I visit often. Now I get the Bing search page. The help of instructions say I can change the default new tab page by clicking on the gear on a new improved, classic, or blank page icon in a drop-down list. When I click on the train, I don't get this list of options. Instead, a settings page appears, allowing me to make various changes, but improved, classic or white new tab page choices aren't there. Problem with button 'customize your new tab page.

How to change the new tab Page in the menu of tiles?
I want tiles on my new page tabs instead of page white or any other search engine. Help, please
"Out of the box", new Firefox tab page shows tiles, based on your history, and you can replace with other sites if you wish.
Here's how you can change your new tab page:
(1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.
(2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered
(3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter your favorite page:
- (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
- Blank tab = > subject: empty
- Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
- Any other page = > full URL of the page
Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?
The new integrated tab page, the "gear" icon should provide both classic and enhanced, that show tiles.
If the problems persist, some potential diagnoses and remedies:
If Firefox will not let you change this setting: you can have what is called SearchProtect on your system. This must be removed the control panel.
Firefox if allows you to save your changes, but he doesn't know: one of your extensions may be the substitution of her. You can consult, disable and/or remove extensions on page modules. Either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a
- "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, take a critical look on the list on the right and turn off (or remove) something unknown.
If the modification works during your session, but during the next startup is return to the unwanted page: you could have a user.js file in your personal settings Firefox (your Firefox profile folder). This article describes how to track down and delete the file: How to fix preferences that will not save.
A little luck?

It's maddening that I can't fix something so simple.
When I click on the '+' opens a new page with entries unpopulated for Web sites. I tried the steps in 'new Page' tab and was able to drag and drop a bookmark of my "library".
Guests look OK, but the site does not appear in the free text box. It seems like it should work. Is there a simple (stupid) step I'm missing?
Thank you
StanYes, it should work if you are dragging a bookmark or history item in an (empty) the subject: newtab page.
You see at least nine slots on the new tab page?
None of them filled are already?
This problem may be caused by an extension that is not working properly.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do not click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

I turned off so the images are not cached for the new tab Page history and be reloaded Firefox is restarted. In addition, some of the sites I've pinned use HTTPS and do not allow their images to be cached.
Is it possible for me to put a custom image for each pinned site? A custom screenshot that is not in the cache or an icon to be any? Anything would be better than a box empty here.
Thank you

This new tab page allows to store the new bookmarks, right? But I was hoping to return to a bookmark that I jumped, so I pressed on remove again and again until the screen on two of the nine just went completely blank, and now I can't drag a bookmark for them. If I drag a bookmark to one of them, or anywhere else on the page, nothing is saved to the "new tab page", it opens just this bookmark. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have the window "Show all bookmarks" open. I'm puzzled.
Hello
Please try this: open a bookmark and drag its icon site (on the left side of the address bar (address)), hold it on the newtab tab and when it opens, release it on a blank thumbnail.

When I opened a new tab page, the sites most used flash for a microsecond then disappear, leaving the page to the search as it's always looked. I looked for the icon of the PIN and couldn't find one, so I tried dragging a bookmark on it and I was just to the bookmark page. I have not deleted the cache and is not complete either. Any ideas?

Hello. I installed the latest update of Firefox and when I start a new tab page displays not now my google input line. I use Windows 10. Until the recent update (v4.1.01) each time I started a new tab the new page would show the google search entry line which is my default. Can help you to restore this feature? TKS
Hi, 41 of Firefox, you must use the add-on tab override (browser.newtab.url replacement), to make changes to the page tab.
Once installed, open the Add-ons (Ctrl + Shift + A) Manager > Extensions, and then look for the new tab override and click Options to set your preference.
Notice, if you want only the new tab to be the same as your home page, you can use the Add on new tab homepage instead.
You will then need to restart Firefox for all changes to take effect.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.
