  The A100 is one of the new series of laptops and AFAIK the image of Toshiba was placed only on a CD (DVD) recovery.
  I think that the message and the possibility to insert the second CDconfuses a little.

  In my opinion the black screen and freeze has nothing to do with the recovery procedure and the new installation if Windows OS.
  Due to the fact that this problem has occurred until you have installed the OS from the recovery CD, I assume that there must be something wrong with the hardware.

  But it s very interesting to know if the same problem appears after the new installation of Windows from the original CD of Microsoft.

  My Satellite Pro A200 turns black after the BIOS screen and a black screen with a blinking cursor. Also just as the screen goes black a beep can be heard which shows windows boot.
  I can access the toshiba Setup screen but not the installation of security mode.

  You wrote that you can access the BIOS, but have you checked if the HARD drive is recognized properly? Perhaps because the computer cannot start HDD isn't recognized then you should check this.

  If the HARD drive is recognized, I would try a Toshiba Recovery disk recovery facility. It seems that Windows isn't able to start and if you reinstall the whole system should help get rid me of this. Go to the start menu and select the CD/DVD drive as a boot device.

  In my opinion you should try to make the installation of recovery one more time to check if the same problem occurs again.

  You have created recovery disks?
  If Yes use recovery disks for recovery image installation.

  If it doesn't work you should try a normal Microsoft disk so determine if the problem is related to hardware or recovery disk.

  Hi, I have a HP Pavilion DV7 notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it. A problem I've noticed is that, once I connect to windows during a boot, the screen is black for about 1-2 minutes. After awhile, explorer.exe would with desktop, taskbar and icons. I am concerned about this 1 to 2 minutes of black screen after the boot as it did not exist previously. I know I have options such as restoring the computer laptop back to the default state, or by using the system restore. However, I don't want to lose all my stuff, and with respect to the restoration of the system, I'm not sure when the problem happening, as it was some time ago.   I think that something goes wrong when installing recovery and thus you get a blue screen and can t install the WLAN software. The best option would be to run the recovery process.

  But why you can't reach t recovery more? I mean you can use HARD drive recovery as often as you like and you can start if you enter Windows Advanced Boot menu (press F8 before Windows starts) and choose fix my computer. Select Toshiba HDD recovery, then follow the instructions on the screen. Windows will be reinstalled with all drivers and tools.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4114. In the last week or so, it started to get a black screen. If I m in the middle of watching a video, the sound would just go to a repetitive tone (very annoying sound) and the screen freezes completely.

  He sometimes goes to a black screen. The screen is not black as if the CPU is off but it's dark and nothing is displayed. This occurs when the computer has been for a little.
