  Anyone know if it is already informing the magic lantern, the Canon 7 d firmware 2.0.5?

  With my 3 5, I had two versions of firmware on the memory card and then I could switch back between versions whenever I wanted to. Magic Lantern now works with the last 3 5 firmware, so there is no need for that now.

  The 7 d should always run 2.0.3 to launch the magic lantern.

  EDIT: If your camera had previous versions of firmware, it is very easy to backdate and then later the upgrade of firmware versions.

  If your 7 d came new fron Canon with 2.0.5 installed there is a small chance that it will not backdate. I've heard of a 5 3 new factrory owner who has had a few problems, but it was never confirmed why he had problems.

• I am angry and disappointed in the Canon. I need help. ix6820

  Just got my ix6820 so I could print the newsletter 11 x 17 my Mac. There is no mac os x software or drivers in the box or on the canon Web site. There are drivers for the ix6520 and the ix7000 but not the ix6820 so I can not get the printer installed on my iMac. I then proceeded to open windows on the parallel to try to install it there just to try to find a workaround and be able to use the printer. No luck. The software would not install without error message. Then I go back to the site Web of guns for windows drivers and there is none for this printer and windows. Again, I found the drivers for the other two printers for windows, but not the ix6820.

  Of course the gun isn't a big enough company to have technical support open on weekends I guess which is ridiculous for me, so I have to wait until Monday.

  If anyone can guide me through the installation for my mac os x or point me in the right direction, I would be really grateful.

• Unable to capture video with the Canon Vixia HV40 HDV - why?

  I am unable to capture video HDV via Firewire to my Cannon Vixia HV40. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on a computer HP DV6T Quad Edition laptop, using the native Firewire interface. I can capture DV standard definition without problem (when the unit is set to DV mode, Windows detects the device and the guests of action - if you select HDV mode, Windows does not, and the camera does not appear in Device Manager).

  So far, I tried to capture HDV in Sony Vegas, Windows Live Movie Maker, Cyberlink PowerDirector 7 and finally HDVSplit (considered as the common denominator of simpler, the lowest for the capture) without success. NOTE: the camera IS recognized in HDV mode. In all the above applications, I can go back, play and fast forward - there's a link that works at least at this level. When I try to capture HDV, I get different results - no success. HDVSplit starts playback on the camera and stops after 3-4 seconds, indicating that no data has been transferred from the camera. If I turn off scene detection, capture runs indefinitely, but the generated file is never more than 0KB. Director of Windows also appears to capture, but the file is still 70 KB and is not valid. Sony Vegas, same, begins the capture but never see any video. CyberLink Power Director, somehow, HDV recorded once a band - and can always record a live camera HD stream.

  I tried a lot of things:

  1 using the older driver 1394
  2 turn HD/HDV
  3 reinstall the capture software
  4 press the 'PLAY' button first, then enable "record", then the workflow is running.
  5. install the Canon software (despite the fact that it contains all drivers for camcorders) - in fact there is no driver for the Canon Vixia HV40. It is supposed to work with the Windows 7 driver. I tried both (W7 and legacy) with the same result.

  The Canon Vixia HV40 is documented as supported in Windows 7 by Microsoft and Canon - and yet there are many people on the Internet claiming to have this problem (although some people report no problems at all). I am sure that I do not see a 'Pink Elephant'. As this is a forum for Microsoft - I would be happy if I could capture in Windows Live Movie Maker - to keep the inconsistencies of the third part of the road. What should I try next? Is there a 1394 a generic driver that is certified to run on Windows 7?

  I went and hooked the camcorder new just to make sure that I can hardly believe it is now capture HDV. Perfect work. Believe me, I've tried evey solution I could find on the internet and it is the only one that worked for me. I found the solution on this forum and started to find only no sooner. I've only used it with Pinnacle Studio 12 so far... never mind, I just tried HDV Split and it works too. I had also planned to buy a SIIG NN-EC2812-S2 and if it had been less expensive, I did not hesitate. I tried from Best Buy's Dynex Express card, but he had the camera recognition problems and sent. I thought that you get what you pay and was actually looking for the best price on the SIIG when I came across the solution. I wish you good luck.

  Recently, 20 d died and had to get 70 d.

  Laptop with windows XP and Pshop CS2, open the Canon 20 d first but refuses to open 70 gross d.

  Tour with win7 and Pshop CS6 open raw 70 d.

  What do I need open 70 d with CS2 and have access to the raw etc settings?

  I'm not buying a new laptop that I have no money for anything, whether it must remain XP and CS2, unless I can install my CS6 on XP also? It is not connected to the internet and can not be.

  The 70 d has been initially supported by Adobe Camera Raw 8.2 (a plugin used by Photoshop to read Raw files) which is compatible with both CS6 and Cloud. CS2 will never be able to open the 70 D Raw files.

  In fact, I have two questions in one. First of all, I own a 5 d, first model (called 5 d mark I by some), and it seems to be supported in Lightroom for shooting as indicated herein captive:a list of cameras that can be attached to Lightroom.

  I also have a 5Dclassic.   Even if shows that the 5 d classic is supported for Lr 3.0 as the camera is not attached with Lr 6 because of the Canon SDK.  This documentation page to view a LOT more information about the time in favour of home fell for a camera, but they pulled this info so that the page is now UNNECESSARY.

  I have my using Canon 5 d mk3 under the MULTIROTor. So I have no possibility to change the position of the buttons during the flight. By wireless remote control, I have the ability to record movies and take pictures, but only when I'm on the movie mode. If I change to photo mode I lost ability to save movies. The problem is that the pictures taken in video mode has lower resolution. The top and bottom of the image is cropped when I open the software in different RAW RAW files I full resolution in Adobe Camera RAW processing photos are cropped I have Photoshop CS 5 and ACR 6.7.1 is a soltion to this? I tried to convert CR2 files to DNG, but it did not help

  Adobe has added a 'Original Culture' function starting with LR 4.2 and 7.2 ACR which might help you if your camera is newer, but the cameras released before so cannot use it, and your 5D.3 is one of these models.

  Adobe did release a LR plugin called Adobe DNG recover Edge that will make things better for older cameras by making a DNG copy that has no culture behind closed doors applied.  Here is a page of help on this:

  For me, it was suggested that there is a fix for the firmware for this particular problem.

  I am able to find references to this problem with the Nikon camera, but not my Canon model.

  The problem has been resolved by a new update of the firmware of the Canon.

  Not directly.  This camera came out after PSE12 was obsolete, so only PSE13 can be updated with a plug in Camera Raw, fairly new to open native raw files.

  The workaround, which takes the most steps, is to convert the CR2 DNG files using the converter DNG 8.7 or more recent, and then these DNG can be opened in the old Camera Raw plugin with older items.

  Correction of a problem and it has been updated to Adobe that caused the problem. Canonscan toolbox/create pdf screen there is a field link images to digital. It was referencing an old AcroRd32.exe which removed the update. Once I had discovered that I put in the new AcroRd32.exe and here! It worked.

  If you use Firefox 28 on a 64 bit system (windows 7) when opening a new tab, the screen is blank. When you use the same version on a 32-bit system (windows xp) which opens a new tab of the screen displays 9 boxes/windows of previously visited web pages with an image of the page in the window of /. I would really like this poster on the system using windows 7 however I can't find advice or instructions on how to do this.

  I solved.

  I installed mutorrent, which in turn installed 'Safe Protect' of 'Intermediary' that messed up my Internet browser settings.

  I uninstalled it and everything turned back to normal, when I opened a new tab, the cursor is automatically in the address bar (ie. it is highlighted).
