New upgrade of Windows 10

I am running Windows 7 (64 bit) on a Hp Pavilion PC (AMD Athlon II - CPU - RAM 4GM) manufactured in 2009.

I would like to take advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 10, but need to return to Windows 7, until an application I need is compatible with Windows 10.  Once the application is compatible with Win10, I want to upgrade again and stay on Win10.

WILL I HAVE TO PAY A NEW TAX OF 10 WINDOWS LICENSE AT THIS TIME?

WHAT ARE THE MECHANISMS INVOLVED IN THIS PROCESS?

The Meadow skipper

Simply create a system image to install win - 7 before the upgrade,

If you did not bother to do

Create an image of the installation of win - 10 system and unplug and then roll back to 7.

When the program is compatible to restore the system win-10 image, reinstall the program.

Do the basics with an image utility reliable free system on a completely separate hard disk,

You want to install (upgrade) new Windows 7 Pro 64) Windows 10.  No problem.

Here's my question and need help.  I want to put the upgrade of Windows new 10 on my 500 gig SSD and make the main drive (C :)  Just got new PC and the SSD is not yet installed in the new machine.

Is there a way to do this?  I can install the SSD drive in the pc without problems.  But the pc is set up with the C: drive in the primary.  As I understand it, the update will work, but it will not be for the SSD.

    Suggestions?  Is this possible?

Windows 7 installation will have to be eliminated if its currently on a separate disk. Which means you have to start over.

I would first disconnect the hard drive with your Windows 7 installation.

Install the SSD drive, then install Windows Pro 10 on this subject.

  • New upgrade of Windows 7 will not get updated

I've just updated for Win 7 SP1 home edition Premium on DVD. This is a new installation of XP. The automatic update feature is pasted on updates. I can download manually, but the automatic update feature does not work. I also tried to update IE8 on IE11. I can manually download the package, but to demand that fails when it tries to download the updates. I also tried IE9 with the same results. I even tried the free update to win 10.  It downloads fine, but fails to demand, when it searches for updates. All the other features of the Win 7 upgrade work very well.

I searched and read this forum posts about it. I tried many suggested fixit downloads, and a few other KB downloaded manually updates without success. Still, it does not solve the problem. It just keeps searching for updates forever. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I assume that you have followed the instructions I already gave you exactly I realized...

Let it run so that it provides updates.  This can take hours.

I do this all the time and rarely ran into difficulties you describe.  Tips on installing a little both are just stupid.  Let just the thing take what time it is necessary to run it.

    Another thing can help:

Go directly to the Microsoft Download web site and get KB3102810, install it.  Which can sometimes speed up the process of WU.

  • New upgrade of Windows 7 using the upgrade disc

    Hello

I have some annoying problems which suggests that I should reinstall W7.

History:-Toshiba laptop purchased with Vista Home Premium includes a recovery disk. Upgrade to W7 Home Premium 32 bit (now in SP1) from a purchased upgrade disk. Everything is OK and all files etc works OK after using the easy transfer. Now, after 3 1/2 years in this State, the problems (which include backup, IE, blue screen, heavy CPU usage) worsen.

So: - can I re - pass using the same upgrade disc in order not to destroy my files and settings, drivers, etc?

I am aware that I could do a clean install using upgrade disk (that's the only option I found answers to the community) but things are not so bad as I want the agro to do at this point. My concern is that Qualification record cannot accept the same existing software with the same product key valid.

    All advice would be welcome.

    Thank you, David.

    Hello David,.

    Thank you for your response.

When you repair Windows 7 or upgrade site, your programs will remain installed. Not to cause suffering.

Note: I strongly recommend to back up all your important files and folders on an external storage device before performing any type of repair operating system or upgrade.

    Thank you

  • Upgrade to Windows 7 program

Hi, there are a lot of press around the internet today about the new upgrade of Windows 7 HP program.

The detailed programme for all the regions are located here.

Here are some details on the program for the U.S. program.

    1. your PC * must be purchased between June 26, 2009 to January 31, 2010

    2. one of the following versions of Windows Vista must be installed at the factory on your PC *:

    3. your PC * must be on the list of eligible models

    " Eligible models

    I worked for HP.

Hey, tzelee - sorry for the confusion.  I agree that your existing operating system Vista Business is without a doubt a valid version of the OS and confirmed how this error came about.   You reason that your PC is eligible for the upgrade of Vista equivalent Windows 7 Professional professional.  I would work to get the situation corrected and will get back to you as soon as POSSIBLE.

behaviour observed with firefox 16.0 (15.1 upgrade) on windows xp sp3

Firefox 16.0 behaves as you would expect with slackware 14.0

is there a fix for this regression

Looks like that for me, it was the Firebug extension that was screwing things up. Disable Firebug solved the problem.

  • Upgraded to windows 7 and also a new hard drive

    I have a 2005 HP m7060n Media Center http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c00306958 & lang = to & cc = us & taskI... running on XP
I was looking to upgrade to Windows 7 and also install a new drive.  New readers are shipped with windows 7 already preinstalled and when I change the disks, it will start windows 7.
How could I then exchange the old files to the new drive?
What is your solution the best and less expensive?  How do you do this?  Help, please.
    Thank you
    Marco

I suggest that perform you a clone of the hard drive. Seagate drives and WD offer a free version of the wizard disk.

Clone the original 200 GB drive to the new drive.  To avoid problems, has chosen a 1.5 or 1 t T drive. Once you have the clone, just install the upgrade on the new drive. All your data will remain intact, and the intact original of 200 GB drive is secure.

PS > you need a spare sata power and data leads to the clone. Look inside and see what led power is hanging loose. Then I can suggest an adapter or cable. As the DVD is IDE, (not Sata) from what I've read, you will need a Sata data cable also.

  • HP Touchsmart 23-d055: do I need a new recovery disk after upgrade to Windows 10?

I upgraded my 2 years, HP Touchsmart in Windows 8 for Windows 8.1 for Windows 10. It took me 6 hours to run all of these updates.

Now, HP Support Assistant keeps reminding me to create an image of system recovery. But when I run the recovery media creation utility, it warns me that he goes back to the original operating system (Win8). Is it possible to create a recovery image system for my machine on Windows 10?

I know that Windows 10 now has an automatic recovery partition. But I am concerned by the failure of the disk, which would make this unnecessary partition. Last year, when I've upgraded to win 8.1, I had an alteration of the disc that has occurred without known reason. I lost everything on the PC and to restore Win 8, and I've never touched the PC up to 10 Windows free update is out.

I created a USB Win8 recovery disk when I got the machine. This is my only alternative? I suppose that if I ran the recovery media creation utility, it would recreate just the same.

BTW, I know that HP has here a document, but it does on computers provided with Windows installed 10.

Thank you for your help and experience.

Since no one has replied with an answer to my question, I've finally worked it on my own. I learned that you cannot make a new recovery disk system after the upgrade to Windows 10, if you had already created one when you got your machine under Windows 8.x

Context: after upgrade to Windows 10, the HP Support Assistant kept prompting me to create a system recovery disk.  I did one when I got the machine 2 years with Win8.  I didn't replace my original recovery disk, so I went out and got a new 16GB USB flash drive. When I inserted this new drive and attempted to create a recovery disk, the PC told me I couldn't do one, because you are allowed to make a recovery disc by PC.

So it was kind of stupid that after completing the upgrade of Windows 10, HP Support Assistant tells people to do. It should just check itself and see if a disc has already been done. All this anguish for nothing!

I bought a new computer with Windows 7 free upgrade. We also have another desktop computer. My son has paid and downloaded Windows 7 Home Premium on this computer (Asus), not knowing that I had the free update. ASUS sent me free upgrade disks. Can I use these on another desktop computer? Or I can download Windows on another desktop computer and transfer my registration to it, and then use the Asus drives on this computer?

Your question has nothing to do with the functionality of Windows Update (vs Windows upgrade), Jan.

That being said, Asus only can answer your specific question. Good luck!

You understand that you will not be able to upgrade Windows XP to Windows 7?  He will have to do a clean install.

The Council supports Windows 7, you can get the drivers here (the chipset drivers should be the first drivers you install after installing the operating system.)
