No controller USB (USB2) improved to SIS 7001

I have an Iridium Starbook 505.

XP SP3 installed.
No show in Device Manager USB2 controllers
Does anyone have any ideas what to try?
Works very well with a knoppix boot CD, so I'm pretty sure that the BIOS is ok and hardware is supported.

Thanks for the replies.

I have determined that the SiS 7001 chip does not support USB2. Apparently it's part of the SiS 630/730 chipset, which has several devices on board and only supports 2 x USB 1.1.

If this is useful to everyone here is a wiki link which gives more information:

  • Satellite P10: Controller USB and IEEE 1394 do not work after WXP re - install

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I recently reinstalled WXP home on my satellite p10 computer laptop and then installed all drivers and utilities from the support CD that follows with Notepad.

Everything works except for USB and Firewire.
Very strange screen system shows me that I have bad driver for usb controller, but when I run the utility chipset problem remains. I even downloaded the drivers on the Toshiba support home page in the hope that it would be a different version and they would work, but nada... same problem persists.

Someone knows how to solve this problem, or what is suitable driver for the controller USB on satellite p10 554 and where can I find this driver (without the entire chipset utility?)

Thank you in advance for your help!
    David

    Hello

the funny thing is that USB is IN the chipset. The problem is that you can extract some drivers you need, given that utilities chipset intel are a complete set.

So, I suggest you go to the website of intel (www.intel.com) and then download the chipset utility. Don t forget to update your windows (Service pack, updates, bugfixes) because the operating system has sometimes problems with the hardware installed, then an update will solve this...

I hope that you have little luck with the original software of the chipset intel.
Give a few comments after completing the makings and let us know if it worked.

  • Message from the controller USB Hi Speed

I have an old Compaq computer, running XP Pro. About 2 months ago he locked up and I got to reformit. I reinstalled XP Pro, and it works. I tried to reinstall the printer, and now the computer says the USB ports might work faster if they were hooked to a 2.0 port, and I need to install a hi speed USB controller on this computer. The printer worked fine on this computer until I got it to reformit, and ask if there is any other drivers that I need to install. I have XP Pro SP 3.

    Thank you

If you see a message like this:

This USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port.
For a list of available ports, click here.

This is an informational message and not an error message.

You can see if you can actually fix it, or you can decide to disable your USB device messages and will see the message.  If you disable the USB of reporting mechanism, you will not be able to see all messages from USB devices either.

Disable the notification mechanism is considered to be the 'fixing' to some people, but not for me.

It would be better to fix it in fact instead of just to disable the notification mechanism.

Let's see what you have right now:

Open the Device Manager by clicking Start, run and enter in the box:

    %SystemRoot%\System32\devmgmt.msc

    Click OK.

Do you see any red Xs or yellow? s in the list of devices and if so, in what areas?

Now, expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers section and look for the words:

Host improved or enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller controller

Here is a sample screenshot of what to look for in your device manager:

    http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/2466/devicemanagerenhanced.PNG

You see the word enhanced in all sections under Universal Serial Bus controllers section?

If you do not see the word enhanced, you probably just update your device USB drivers.  Until you do, you will continue to see the annoying reminder message.

If you want another set of eyeballs on your information to find out what you have, follow these steps:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.

For more information of USB port, expand the components section, click on USB, click on edit, select all, copy and then past he feedback here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

  • Standard enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller & USB OpenHCD Standard host controller drivers

    Hello

Improved my Standard PCI to USB Host Controllers & Standard OpenHCD USB host controller drivers are no longer works. My USB ports have stopped working completely.

I tried to uninstall, reboot, reinstall, but Windows cannot reinstall the drivers itself. I get a code 19 for each of them. "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) »

I did not anything out of the ordinary except for an update of the computer, but I tried the system restore and it still does not fix my problem. I suggested either a new reinstall of Windows or to "press F11 on startup to restore my computer to factory settings.

I tried deactivating and reactivating. That did not work. The only thing I have not tried also the factory reset setting is reinstall my chipset, but I don't know how or what chipset I have, I just know it's AMD and ATI.

My computer is a HP Compaq Presario CQ61-420US with 3 GB of RAM, AMD Athlon II Dual Core processor, I have Windows 7 Home Premum 64-bit.

I have tried everything that I could, even went in safe mode, uninstall and re-install my drivers, but it didn't work. I really need to get this problem solved, I really need my USB ports and I don't know what to do.

    Try the following:

Start by creating a System Restore Point.

Double click on the UpperFilters and remove usbfilter > OK

    Then, restart the computer.

The reference to the usbfilter is probably not valid and removing wil restore the default UpperFilters which is empty.

  • Satellite A210-133: how to install Intel or via controller usb on windows 7

    Hello!

I have a toshiba satellite a210-133 that I level to the 32-bit version of windows 7.
All have been installed at the end, but I an intraoral machine that is connected by usb and it does not work properly.

I questioned the manifacture of the machine and they said she wants an Intel controller or VIA USB to work properly.
so I look at my computer\manage and I saw that
    I don't have this controller.

Can you help me with this?

    Hi mate

To be honest I m not very well what USB controller you mean exactly.
The phone supports common USB 2.0 ports.
Windows 7 provides own drivers USB of Microsoft, who controls this USB 2.0 ports.

If the n t USB ports work correctly, then you should check if you need to install the chipset driver.
Usually such driver chipset on the chipset manufacturer page.
As far as I know the laptop uses the chipset AMD M690V (name of code RS690MC + SB600)
    So check that.

In addition several devices needs a 3rd USB driver clean.
I put t know if you intraoral machine needs these drivers, but I think that the manufacturer of this device must know this. So if you need this driver, please get in touch with the manufacturer of the intraoral machine to get this software.

    Update:

While the pilot I know work is not made yet, I did some detective work and explored some other links from HP broadcom WiFi card driver files, and I found one that should work for you.

He says that it is for HP desktop PC, they put the exact same form factor of the card wireless to a desktop PC in a laptop.

I see not why this driver would not work, because the configuration file contains the same hardware ID you have posted.  Here's a partial copy and paste of the setup information file driver, and you can see the hardware ID you have posted is supported by this driver.

    Hello

I think that the enhanced USB port is that which is directly soldered to the motherboard and, most likely, on the left side of the laptop where the ports HDMI, VGA or eSATA. The other side ports are connected to the motherboard by a cable and probably use another USB controller.
