No ellipses in filter rendering/lighting

Here I have a big problem with the light filter.  the oval and not to not appear its controllers (no ellipses...).

  • Unable to access the filter-render-lighting

    I have an image in Bridge that exists as well as a camera raw and jpg. I can open the jpg version and apply the filter - rendered - light. When I try to do the same with raw images from the camera, I get to the extent of rendering, and then the effect of light options is grayed out and not accessible (as well as clouds and difference clouds). Why is this? Surely, it should be possible to use the feature of lighting with a raw image effects?

    I use CS2.

    Some of the tools only work on 8 bit, some work only with RGB images.  Click on image/mode to see what you have.  This may or may not solve the problem, but is first.

  • Why has the ellipse radial filter suddenly become a black ellipse?

    I was going through the exercise in Chapter 6 of the CC of Lightroom in the classroom in a book and got to the section where you apply a radial filter. I had several tests and repositioning (defeating every time via edit). I have activated something somewhere as the ellipse is no longer one with a white edge and the midpoint, but a black. I have everything set up exactly as exercise - including invert mask. What happened here? I deleted the history and returned by the exercise several times, but still get the black ellipse.

    It is likely that you have defined exposure to a negative value before you drag the ellipse.

    Ensure that all of the sliders are on the zero point. If you hold down the Alt/Option, the header at the top of the sliders going on 'Reset' and you can reset all in one click.

    In general, the changes you make to the sliders after creating the ellipse are not remembered the next time you use the tool, but the slider values that you set before you draw the ellipse will stay as default values for the next use.

    I just did a temporary fix that seems to work: you can make this correction with a word processor, but it would be easier to do if you download extendscript toolkit from cc app Manager. In this way, line numbers are displayed. Here is the fix:

    Open the script in Photoshop Presets\Deco\_Deco Menu.jsx subfolder and go to the 600 line and modify the script to look like the code below:

        try{
    if (win.panels[pI].menu[ mI ].var1.enabled == enable)
        // no change
        return;
        }
    catch(e){return}

    You do it type "try {}" just above 600 line and then typing a '} ' where is says "back" after you type in another line: "catch (e) {return}".

  • Filter in PS (CS6; 64-bit) lighting effects blocks program

    This is an OS Win7 64 bit, new CS6 installation with all updates applied/installed.

    Use of the lighting effects filter render in PhotoShop (CS6, both 64-bit and 32-bit) causes the PS crashing.

    It's filter - rendered - light, Curt.

    Because of the lighting effects is now accelerated by GPU, your display driver is probably involved in this problem.  Apparently, Photoshop is not able to get the GPU operation to operate the filter.  (I don't know if it uses OpenCL)

    In all cases, refer to the web site of the manufacturer of your video card and download and install the latest display driver for your hardware and operating system.  This is generally useful.

    No third-party application would have the necessary access to change the view across all applications.

  • Ellipse with radial wipe not giving natural shade

    Have applied a radial wipe to an ellipse and added a light + background, but the shadow does not change with the wipe (remaining if the ellipse complete was present). He WORKED with a simple shadow layer style drop, but prefer the flexibility of a real if possible light. Anyone know how to solve this / or why this effect does not light through the transparent area?

    It is the order of rendering that bit you. You must use a shape layer.  You will need to dial before the shape layer. You can either apply the radial wipe of the form or the pre-comp layer.

    If you are using a mask on a solid and apply your radial wipe that shadow will work.
