  • Windows XP 'Welcome screen and user accounts' missing.

I have a Windows XP and recently installed NETGEAR for internet access.  My "Welcome screen and user accounts" are missing.  The user accounts are in the title of the user accounts Control Panel, but, "How users connect power, change" Windows and switch Fast has been disabled.  I now have the classic to log in to my account, but now I'm the only user on this computer.  Can you help me solve this problem without uninstalling NETGEAR?  I thank very you much for your time.

  • Windows 7 welcome screen does not display user account

On the Welcome screen only a single user account shows. The other account are available only under the heading of other users. In the other title of users, you will need to type the user name and password.

I want to be able to log the other account by typing my password only, like on XP Welcome screen.

How do you start more like XP, with more than one user account view.

    Try this:

    1. Press Windows key + R > type secpol.msc and press enter
    2. Navigate to local policies-> security options
    3. Look for the entry "Interactive logon: do not display last user name" and make sure that it is disabled.
  • Administrator accounts still exist, but do not appear in the list of users or on the Welcome screen.

    Hello

A week or two ago, the non-administrator user account icons disappeared from the Welcome screen in Windows XP (32-bit home edition).  Also do they not appear on the list of user accounts.  However, their directories of files remain on the hard disk in Documents and Settings.  They can connect via CTRL ALT DEL x 2, but that's all.  If I try to recreate the accounts, returns the message "account already exists."  I searched the web for ages and many similar symptoms, but none reported patches work.  Any ideas please?
    Thank you very much.

    Matthew,

In light of the where you are, my next step would be to treat these users hidden like 'corrupt profiles' and try one of the several approaches that cover profiles corrupted.  The General method to recover a damaged profile is to create a new user and move all data of the corrupted user profile which has been created.  Once this was accomplished, the corrupted profile can be deleted from the system as well as the user name.  Follow the procedures described in either of the following items:

  • Slide the t icon Fingerprin on the Vista Welcome screen

Hi im using hp protect version 4.00 of the feeder on windows vista tools to access my account adminstrive with my fingerprints. On the Welcome screen it shows two users, they are my administrive account and another user called "swipe to open a session. I really want to remove the icon 'slide your finger to log on' out of my home screen, but still be able to connect to my account using my fingerprint. If anyone knows how to remove it please reply thank you.

Turn off the device and restart the computer, then the connection of the fingerprint scanner icon should disappear.  Do not disable or delete the user login screen icon, instead of turn off the ability to use the device as I told you.

    Hello Boli.law,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

Sorry, you are having this problem!  However, in Windows Vista, there is no setting to change the boot logo in the registry. And with your dual monitor set up it stretches on both screens.  Thank you!

  • Stuck to the Windows 8 Welcome screen

    Hello.

After a windows update, System invited to restart the computer.
After restart it, it stuck at Windows 8 continue to the Welcome screen, with the cursor.
I tried to reset my system, and it is same thing.
    How to solve this problem?

Disabling wi - fi worked for me as well - I was able to do so have switch on the side of the computer. Then hard reboot, log in again, and he passed me the endless welcome screen.

Before the show, was wifi and then added a wired connection to use a printer on our network. Then unplug the wired connection. Think IP address conflict has been created or something - was not able to access the internet at this time, that's why I restarted the first time.

Seems to support previous comments that problems with the network have something to do with it sometimes...

  • How can I remove the email notification in the Windows 7 login screen?

    opening start screen

When I turn on my computer at the beginning to start click on user name in my name says 464 emails unread how rectify this.

    Regards Mike Robson

    Glib answer: read your emails.

Notification of "unread mail" on the Windows Home screen reflects information from several e-mail applications that can be installed on your computer, including at least, Outlook Express and Mozilla Thunderbird's.  Other messaging applications can also contribute to the total.

If you click on the link, you are supposed to see what e-mail client has how many messages, but I have never actually confirmed this feature.

See Presentation of the mail notification display on the Windows XP Welcome screen.

You can completely disable this notification.  The link above the article explains how to change the registry, but the easiest is to download TweakUI for Windows XP.  For some reason, the Microsoft download link for this seems to be non-functional now, but you can get it here--> http://download.cnet.com/Tweak-UI/3000-2072_4-10002117.html

After you install TweakUI, click on "Login" in the left pane, then "unread mail".
