No list on Device Manager
I don't get anything on my Device Manager list. I already tried this:
- Click Start, click run, type services.msc and click OK.
- Double-click Plug-and-Play.
If you receive a Configuration Manager message, click OK.
- In the Startup Type list, click Automatic, and then click OK.
- Services nearby.
- Restart the computer.
It didn't work, I don't know any other alternative for this execution. I am trying to install a hp printer all in one and it would not show on the hp Solution Center, obviously its not detected or nothing appears in list manager of devices of all... someone help pls...
Hi please black_angel, try the following steps. Following are the three different steps to resolve the problem... Please try one of the measures listed. Resolution: Step 1: Article from Microsoft: No. elements appear in the Device Manager list when you open it http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311504 Please note: the URL above will take you to a web site with HP no. Step 2: Give the patch 107: restore the Manager of devices http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/devicemanagerrestore.reg please take note: the URL above will take you to a web site with HP no. HP does not control and is not responsible for information outside the HP Web site. Step 3: 1. Go to "Start", "Run" and type "regedt32" 2. Expand the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" window 3 scroll down to "SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum" 4. "Enum' selected, click Edit > > menu"permissions. Select 'All' and check 'Read' ONLY! 8 select 'SYSTEM' and check "full control". 9. click on the button "Advanced" at the bottom of the window. 10. in the Advanced window, check "reset permissions on all child objects...". I have a toshiba laptop 9100 that does not show me the sound card in Device Manager.
I recently changed the laptop bobdy and uses a disk hard work that work very well with my old laptop which also has the same model and the sound used to work properly with this one. but since I changed my laptop, the sound just does not.
I also tried to install all the latest drivers that I am running windows xp sp2, and there are drivers available who have a difficulty for this os. But when I try and install the drivers it always ends with a message warning "drivers are not installed.
I tried to see if there is another way in which I can configure my sound, but it simply doesn't.
[Edited by: admin August 6 05 08:52]
If the sound card is not listed in Device Manager, the explanation is very simple. The card its doesn't exist for the operating system. Either card defective or not connected properly.
Contact the Service partner and let check the device. Sorry, but in this case I put t see another solution.
my laptop is a hp pavillion entertainment pc dv6605us, running windows vista. the cd/dvd drive is not read / write any CD and it is not listed in Device Manager. I tried to fix this problem by using the microsoft fixit tool, but I'm still having the same problem. I checked the system registry and found no upperfilters and lowerfilters.
Please, how can I solve this problem?
Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as it is often the total process
which solves the problem.
Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.
Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.
Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.
Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
do it right.
Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.
Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.
Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
You can probably find more info here and maybe even the exact registry settings for your

Sometimes when I start my computer or wake him up "sleep" mode I have wireless. The light without yellow wire on the front is, even if the switch is on. I look in Device Manager and see that the wireless card is not yet listed.
The switching market wireless switch makes no difference. I tried to turn on/off half a dozen times the computer and finally he decides to work.
What is the cause of this anomaly?
My wireless adapter plays up?
You can also enable the wireless network adapter by pressing the FN + F8 key combination.
Check this box!
You also update the driver WLAN?
I installed Vista on my Satellite A100-771. I also installed all the drivers downloaded from the Support from Toshiba site.
But when they come out still - starting to Vista, a new hardware based message. I don't really know what material it is.
There is an unknown device in Device Manager, and windows cannot find the driver for this device online.
Can someone help me?
Thank you very much!
may I ask what you´ve drivers downloaded? And about the new hardware based: did you check your device for the Device Manager?
What is standing there as the device is not installed? Mass or multimedia storage? Please be more specific with your explanation and Don t forget the drivers in the list.
I'm trying to access the fingerprint on my laptop reader but can't find it listed anywhere in the Device Manager or control panel. I want to be able to connect with a fingerprint.
You will need to check with HP, their drivers support and documentation online and ask in the forums of HP
where there will be others with that or similar models.

Today I went to connect a bluetooth device and noticed that I no longer had my bluetooth adapter listed in my HP wireless assistant. I went and checked the Device Manager to see if maybe that the issue had been disabled by mistake and noticed that he was is no longer enrolled here either. I literally spent the day combing internet and google to try to find a way to solve this problem and have developed empty.
I have installed current drivers and don't have to update the Ralink drivers recently which caused the corruption. If I open "My Bluetooth" it simply asserts that the Bluetooth radio is currently unavailable. I found a number of people with similar problems, but they had different operating systems or other reasons that their solutions have not helped. I can't understand how to install this unit or know where he was going. It is not listed as an unknown device in my device manager either.
I can post/send screenshots and will provide as much info as I can.Help, please.

Do you see any yellow exclamation marks, question marks, yellow or red Xs in Device Manager?
I formatted and reinstalled using a generic copy of Win XP Pro. Upgrade to SP3 and installed all the components Toshiba TE2100 for on their Web site. However, Device Manager does not appear the internal wireless. I have the driver and tried to force the installation by adding hardware but no joy it no more. Any suggestions on how to get the computer to recognize it has wireless.
TE2100 model pt210a-082n9.
Thank you very much
First WLAN can be enabled or disabled with the hardware switch on the computer laptop and FN + F8.
Did you check that?
Do you have which driver tried to install?
I can recommend the drivers from the Web from Toshiba site because I never had problems with them:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers
If it doesn't work you should with SP2 only. SP3 cause compatibility problems that can be solved with SP2 only.
I just formatted my drive and reinstalled Windows xp and now I can't turn on the wifi. The light is on and the switch is on but it does not work.
I downloaded all wlan drivers but nothing has worked. In the Device Manager I also can't find any WLAN card. In device manager there is an icon * devices * with a qustion-mark and he said * network control *.
This is the WLAN card.
Until I reinstalled Windows it worked fine so the problem is not mechanical.
Help, please. my laptop satellite pro m70, don't model no psm76e/00e005g3
If the normal LAN card is already recognized correctly need wireless network card, then you should try to install the WIRELESS driver from the Toshiba site:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers
In addition, the local network card device can be activated with the hardware switch on the computer laptop and FN + F8.
PL. seated me in solving the WIFI issue in my newly purchased Toshiba Satellite L300-2This (PSLBGE 020004AR)
1. me confirm - this model is equipped with WIFI as shown in the Web of Toshiba site but my device manager it is not displayed at all. (using Windows XP)-its only display Realteck LAN
2. I installed the drivers from the site web of Toshiba - but always hardware WIFI not be picked up by any driver. Device Manager showing that a single 'Ethernet LAN' not installed-may be it is the WIFI card but once again on three pilots (real teak/intel/Ac..). which is the right selection computer-based laptop model No.? as none does not detect the hardware.
3. confirm me - this model is NOT - equipped also BluTooth?
Appreciate the quick response in this regard.
Just a simple question: have you activated the wireless network adapter using the hardware on the computer switch portable and key combination FN + F8?
Satellite L300 is permanently equipped with wireless network card because a friend of mine had the same specifications.
However, you should try to update the WLAN driver. Check the download page of the Toshiba driver for an update.
We just bought this new advantage 40 with the built-in webcam, but it does not appear in our Device Manager, or find how to use it or put up in assistance with this.
How can we put in place and use it?
Found the problem. The software has never been installed.
I downloaded the software from yawcam and the camera has come magically to life.
I turned on the computer yesterday and immediately noticed the Red "x" of white/circle on the "speaker" icon. Roll the cursor over the icon gives me the message "no Audio output device installed. I have already read through the forums and tried some of the suggestions offered without result. Here's a quick deterioration of the situation. I am running Windows Vista Edition Home Premium service pack 2 on a Dell Dimension DM061 (32 bit). No updates have been downloaded and the system was not put into hibernation. I tried restoring the system without result. The Device Manager shows not yet "Sound, video and game controllers" to watch the drivers or disable them. He has not disabled or disconnected devices to display. To the best of my knowledge the soundcard is part of the motherboard with this system, so I've no idea what driver I could find. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
I was hoping that the main issue was in the BIOS but it is also why I posted links to Dell
Support and their forums because he may be known issues with your model.
Check this click - Device Manager - anywhere in the area in white/white - and then VIEW - chech to see the
Hidden - devices you can locate the audio device it?
Try an InPlace upgrade or repair Installation to see if your audio device can be reset.
If so it would probably be a good idea to update or re - install the latest drivers.
You can use another DVD that aren't copy protected but you you need to own
Product key. It must be the same version 32 or 64 BIT Vista OEM. Also the system
machine to usually sell the cheap disk since you already own Windows. Don't forget to make a good
backup or 3 (security in redundancy).
This tells you how to access the System Recovery Options and/or a Vista DVD
How to perform a repair for Vista Installation
If those don't help you probably need a real computer store (leeks and pics
at a Best Buy or other department stores) or Support of Dell.
Another possibility if there is a problem with the hardware with the audio device:
Car sound can be turned off in the BIOS and card USB sound a speedboat can be used
that is not expensive.
Use your favorite search engine search - sound card USB or USB its adapter.
I hope this helps.
