No mouse pointer at the start of the games (WoW, Eve, Crysis)

Whenever I start my games or software (including the Media Centre) my mouse pointer disappears.  It still works (i.e. If there is no button on mouseover they set yet and I can click to select), but I can't physically see the pointer.

All my drivers are bang up to date, as is Windows 7.

I tried 'invisible when you type' de-selection and the deactivation of the pointer trails but nothing works.

My mouse is a Logitech MX518, using the latest drivers (I even completely uninstalled the Logitech software and still get the same result.)

My rig-

Windows 7 64 bit
ASUS P5ne-Sli
Intel Q66OO
Go 4 OZ Reaper 1066 mhz Ram
ATI 4870 x 2

Obviously the games like World of Warcraft and EveOnline are updated regularly to work with Win7, so I don't see it being a problem of compatibility.

A lot of people have this problem and setting up everything has worked perfectly under XP!

Any ideas?

Deselected Aero and fixed!

Thanks for all the advice Microsoft... now fix Aero, that's nice.

    After a few updates MSFT uncontrolled or without reason, the boot of Win8 poster now the gray circle or circle with the mouse pointer in the Center on the login screen of the touch screen. Try moving the pointer with touchpad shows second pointer, and the original remains flashing in the Center. By connecting to the Metro interface, the cursor of the Center remains in the Center, and it is possible to move subway tiles by dragging the screen.

    When you go to the office, the pointer to the Center rest sometimes, sometimes disappears; When there, open and close the Task Manager without doing anything he removes the unwanted pointer. When removing the additional pointer in the Center, office does not respond to tap and double tap. and does not show the rectangle of the area of selection, as he usually did. However, the touch screen digitizer apparently works as the key, and touch multi-touch show shadows in the points of contact. It also allows to scroll the text in the browsers to slide the touch screen. But the zoom and the valves do not work.
    I also noticed that a few seconds after that the Office will appear on the screen, the touchscreen works as he used before (look and work area selection), but they stop working after 3-4 seconds and you can only take account of the points of contact and scroll the text in browsers (no resizing)...
    Device Manager displays the digitizer as 'USB input device' USB\VID_04F3 & PID_0018; It is impossible to find the name of the vendor or update the driver. The device also creates objects of device HID four children. The digitizer can be stopped and restarted from the Device Manager; upon restart, the Center pointer appears again, or a white square is displayed. Touch the place goes the arrow-shaped pointer in the gray circle of key indicator in the center of the screen. Open and close the Task Manager remove the pointer from the Center.
    Sometimes, when you move a pointer 'true' with the touchpad as the arrow in the Center pointer is replaced by a helping hand or cheek two arrows.
    It seems that there is an application or a service that loads with office and seizes 'touch down' messages, do not let them be served by gui. However, I don't find anything unusual in starting programs or services; Virus scan shows that the machine is clean.

    It is a software problem, suggestions, which could bring him or how to find the root cause of the problem are appreciated.
    I saw a similar description of the behavior on the forums of Sony, but there was no resolution.

    FIXED! My laptop had this problem from day one.  I found a thread where some people had fixed it by going into the properties of the mouse and two enabling paths (shortest path setting was OK and barely perceptible) or by changing the standard display cursor to enlarged (or black).  But this does NOT work for me.  Here's what worked completely:

    I turned off the touch screen.  Who needs him--it was a stupid idea of Windows 8, in any case, and the compromise to solve this question "cursor ghost" was worth WAY.

    Go to Device Manager.  Under Interface devices, there are 2 lines for input USB device.  (If there is more, temporarily disconnect the receiver wireless mouse or another USB input device).  Disable the first, one in right-clicked on it and selecting Disable.  And the problem is GONE!  I hope this helps.

    Maybe the screen had a defect that makes act like an invisible finger relying on, or more likely, it's a Windows 8 bug affecting some machines.  In any case, it's a huge relief to see it fixed, because the cell phone was horrible, when this happened.  Good luck!

  • White screen at the Vista start up... only the mouse pointer, loading the driver freezes on crcdisk.sys loading, sfc/scannow does not work...

    Hello
    I don't know if this is the right place for this post... Sorry if it's not! I had looked online if anyone has the same problem to me, I found similar problems, but not the mine one (but if there is, can you please give me the link?).
    I have a DELL LATITUDE D830's with a dual boot (Ubuntu and Vista). When I run Vista I get the Windows logo and then a black screen with only the mouse pointer.
    Keyboard does not work. I can move the mouse, but can not select anything. No work of Ctr + Alt + Delete.
    I can just turn off the computer. At first I need to press F8 to choose something otherwise I get the black screen.
    If I reboot requesting the automatic restoration of the PC that he asks me the account and work only account is mine a (no administrator available). He then suggested to contact the administrator. I checked the error report and nothing is reported: the system works.
    I have no previous configuration to restore.
    I can access the command prompt. So I tried to write sfc/scannow. The answer is that to complete the process requires to restart the computer and make again sfc/scannow. I restart again, the new order, but I get the same answer...
    When I get the black screen, CPU is not disabled, because after a long time (about 2 hours) the computer restarts itself... If something happens even if I don't know what!

    The only thing I have not tried is to restore Vista from CD... I'm really afraid that this could remove the partition, or crash at startup I have, by removing access to Linux!

    I have a backup of all my files, so no matter if what I have to do to cancel my files, but what I really need is to keep Linux operating.

    So, if you have any suggestions... I'm not good at using the computer, so, please, a solution step by step be really appreciate it!
    Thank you very much

    Paola

    PS No peripherics are connected, the wireless is disabled

    Hi seymar,.

    I suggest that you run a tool to restart system on the computer and check if it works.

    If you have a Windows Vista installation disc, you need to restart (boot) your computer using the installation disc. If you do not restart your computer from the disk, the option to repair your computer will not appear.

    1. Insert the installation disc.
    2. restart your computer.
    Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the lock button, and then click restart.
    3. If you are prompted, Press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.
    Note If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change the BIOS settingsfor your computer. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions. 4. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    5. click on repair your computer.
    6. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    7. in the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair.

    Check out the link for more information below.

    If the previous step fails then I suggest that you run CHKDSK on the computer to check if there are any errors on the hard drive.
    1. Insert the installation disc.
    2. restart your computer.
    Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the lock button, and then click restart.
    3. If you are prompted, Press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.
    Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change the BIOS settingsfor your computer. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.
    4. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    5. click on repair your computer.
    6. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    7. in the System Recovery Options menu, click on the command prompt and type chkdsk command-line /f and wait until the scan is complete and later to restart the computer and check what is happening.

    mouse pointer hover on brand-pages-bookmarks button would open - low-point drop in a folder in the list would be open for more bookmarks.
    How can I restore feature. It was very practice-not by clicking on

    Hi montee11,
    Maybe it's the menu of bookmarks? You can activate the menu bar in Firefox by:

    1. By clicking on '3' menu bar
    2. Click on + customize
    3. Show/hide toolbars and select Menu

    Placing the cursor on the Favorites button on the toolbar is more open automatically, but it opens when I click.

  • How to stop the circle of blue on the mouse pointer when the machine turns off

    Regarding Photosmart 5510e printer all in one product No.CQ183B... Model No.B111h... Serial number {content removed}

    Cannot get rid of the attatched blue circle to the pointer of the mouse when the computer is turned off, because it is the noisiest printer that I have ever bought, it even guard the neihgbours awake. Thers seems there have much the same complaint of the HP printer owners concerning the blue circle. Advice please, thank you jh

    Most likely the computer is looking for the printer for features such as Scan computer and alerts the ink. Disable these features should stop the blue circle of projection. Double-click the printer on the desktop icon to open the Printer Wizard. Double-click the ink level chart found at the top of the window. Click the Advanced tab. Under Alerts ink make sure the box "only when I print" is selected, and then click close at the bottom of the window. Double click on manage the Scan of the computer. Click on disable. Close all open windows. This should stop the computer from looking for the printer when it is turned off. Let me know what happens.

  • Change the mouse pointer in the simulation?

    Hello

    is it possible to change the appearance of the pointer mouse in a software simulation (on a single slide)?

    I got to change the pointer in demo mode.

    Kind regards

    Jurek

    Sure.  Simply select the subject of the mouse on the slide where you want it to be different and then select another pointer in the Options tab.  If you want to use a pointer that is not listed, you can click the Browse button to navigate to a cursor file replacing. Please note that the format must be .cur, not just a graphic file.

    If you want to get really creative and change the mouse cursor for something completely different, maybe it replaced with a graphic file, it is also possible using a widget.

    }

    {We (Release)}

    Is it possible to disable a brake when the mouse is released outside the bounds of the scene, perhaps using a different method that does not rely on a button?

    {We (Press)}

    this.startDrag ();

    }

    {On(Release,releaseOutside)}

    this.stopDrag ();

    (1) take a look at the help, if you're looking for the mouse cursor will show you the function SetMouseCursor

    (2) it would be also nice to you provide comments - so far all of your previous questions were answered by various participants of this forum - it's more fun to help if you see from time to time a small "thank you"...
