No possible partition for the resettlement of the El Capitan

I have major problems on both OS X and win 7 (imac) 2009.

The computer is unusable, especially the keyboard. This follows an update to El Capitan a couple of weeks.

The computer does not start with keys (keyboard problems), the only available drive start is bootcamp, but OS X and recovery disks are visible on win 7 in bootcamp console.

I tried to reinstall El Capitan, but no records are available for the partition, so I'm stuck (must be a GUID which I did not).

I saved all the files and would really like to restore systems. However, the dvd does not work (eject) for the two OS x installation DVD or Windows 7 iso burned dvd.

I wonder if it is repairable? Thanks in adavnce for any advice.

What is an Apple keyboard? Do you have problems after the upgrade, or a few days later.

If Alt/Option keys do not work during startup, command + R or command + Opt + R work? If it is an Apple keyboard, you run a MSC and resetting the NVRAM.

You have a Time Machine backup? Your optical drive was working properly before yo El Capitan upgrade?

We were all new at one point, so don't worry what you know.  Win 8 is compatible with all previous OS.  It supports C++, and depends on your video card supports DIrectX 9, 10 and 11.

The only thing that doesn't come with win 8 (and since you bought it, it may already be installed) is windows media player.

  • HP P6 2120t: possible cards for the card mother Pegatron IPISB-CU on a computer of 2120t HP P6

So, I'm looking to upgrade my graphics recently. Over the months, I've been looking around and find out a lot about how work cards graphics, and I need to find one. However, what I don't know much about is the compatibility of graphics cards with card mother Pegatron IPISB-CU. I checked and I'm running on FRIEND 7.19 BIOS update 02/04/2012. It seems that I need to look for graphics cards that can work with "Legacy" BIOS. However, it's not not clear that even if I bought one it would work. I was hoping so to ask HP and the community if there was in fact a strong graphics card that would be 100% some works with my motherboard/BIOS card.

To archive the many discussions of forums, it seems the MSI 750ti ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127783 & cm_re=msi_750-_-14-127-783-_-Product ) is my best bet because it is said to have a switch making it compatible Legacy Boot. However, read the description of the product, I have not found this mentioned in the features. What scares me.

If someone could shed some light on what I'm working with. I would be extremely grateful. I'm ready for the possibility that there is no viable option other than buying a new motherboard and the OS, but if I can get away with upgrading my current system I would be very grateful.

Thanks to all who take the time to read/answer

At the company MSI Web page in the master record for this MSI cardunfortunately didn't even State if power 6-pin PCIe connectors are needed. Also, it does not specify that there a dual BIOS or the old BIOS support. I wouldn't consider this one for your motherboard.

You may need to upgrade the PSU as your installed PSU doesn't have 6 - pin PCIe connectors with power cable to power the card video update.

EVGA and Gigabyte are also PCIe x 16 graphics cards with dual BIOS allowing a choice of inheritance or the EFI.

What is 100% certainty in the work with your motherboard, you upgrade a ready to use PC or a system as you put as well as components custom, studied and chosen by yourself.

I suggest you buy your video card with your credit card. If this does not work with your motherboard you can return. Which takes an element of risk fomr away the attempt.

  • Look for the partition for the fact table

    Oracle version: Oracle 10.2

I have a table of facts with daily partitions.
I'm insertion of test data in this table for the old date 20100101.

I am able to insert that record into this table as below
    insert into fact_table values (20100101,123,456);

However I noticed that the partition for this date does not exist in the table (all_tab_partitions) more I'm not able to select the data using

    Select * from facT_table partition (d_20100101)

but I am able to extract the data using

    Select * from facT_table where date_id = 20100101

could you get it some please let me know how to find the partition in which these data could be inserted
and if the partition date 20100101 is not present so why put so that the date doesn't work?

Who says that the date is invalid. ? It is a partition of the range - which means that each partition covers a range. And if you bothered to read in the SQL Reference Guide on how the definition of a partition of the range, you will notice that each partition is defined with the value end of the range it covers. There is no starting value - as the end of the previous partition is the "+ border +" between this and the previous partition.

I suggest that before you use a database feature first become familiar you with it. Another evil to use and making assumptions wrong about it, more than likely outcomes.

  • Possible security for the Web-based Configuration

My colleagues and I found something very interesting today... Despite having configured the FTP security settings (which have been confirmed to set up and in funcitoning. I can't open an FTP session to our remote target without specifying a username admin and the password) If you open the configuration tool based OR web in a browser, you can send via FTP to and from the target using the file remote browser without being connected to all! Everyone knows this?

Apparently, these permissions are separate from FTP, but you can define these special permissions on the page of the security configuration for the web-based configuration utility.

Windows 7 works best when it is installed on a single partition with the programs installed on the same partition.  More a partition requires additional seek time and results in poor performance.

  • All possible means for the conversion of P2V Windows 2008 R2 (even with workaround solutions?)

We have several production servers, that we have recently upgraded to Windows 2008 R2, only to discover after the fact that VMWare Converter currently does not support convert a physical machine to a VMWare image. The servers are actually images of Hyper-V, but since there is no way to convert the computer virtual Hyper-V to VMWare, we have always used the P2V conversion with our Windows 2008 Server (not R2) without problem.

Its imperative that we find a way to do this and I was hoping to see if anyone has found any workaround for this problem.

We would prefer not to have to buy another product for that (i.e. using Acronis or Symantec Backup), as one would expect VMWare to support it eventually (even if it is the only option, we will have to examine it). We simply need a workaround solution for us until they do.

    Thanks a bunch!

  • user accounts may be on another partition for the file system

I want to have two versions of the operating system on my computer, 10.7.5 and El Capitan, but as all the files from the user to access both. I can define a Directory users on the same system?

    Sure.

Open the preferences users and groups. Click the lock and authenticate you. Or CTRL - RIGHT click on your username account list in the sidebar and select Advanced Options in the context menu. You will see a field called "Home dir: ' on the far right, you will see an Edit button. Click on it. In the file dialog box, navigate to the location in house now located on the HARD disk (disk HARD/users/user_name /.) Select the folder, click the Open button. Restart the computer, as shown. When the computer starts, it will now use the home located on the HARD drive folder.

Of course, you must repeat the above to switch it back to the user accounts on the main drive when you boot from this drive.

  • How much better the partition of the HARD drive for dual boot: Windows 8 and Linux

    Hello

I am a newbie in Windows 8, linux, Partition...

I want to use my new laptop with windows 8 pre-installed on the following:

Create a Dual Boot Windows 8 / Ubuntu
Create on my drive C (single disk on my laptop):

    * a partition for the system
    * one for Windows 8
    * one for data and
    least for Ubuntu OS

    My goal is:

-to install VmWare on Windows 8 and run Splat Checkpoint with virtual machines to make the FCTC laboratories.

to install GNS3 on Ubuntu for CCNP Labs but with GNS3 to access the files in the data partition

I have a Toshiba Satellite with 750 GB and 8 GB of RAM.

According to you, what is the best size for my scores?
Is there a better way to partition my C drive on my goal?

    Best regards

I don't know if this is the right section, sorry for that. Feel free to move this thread in the appropriate section *.

I think the size of partitions depends of the you want to use and install other software.
So if you have a lot of software which runs under the Windows System I recommend to choose a larger size to win 8 partition.

However, given that you have a 750 GB HARD drive, you could take 200GB for Win 8, 100 GB to Linux and the rest of the HARD drive size, that you can use for data.

  • Bootcamp lost after the new partition (try to increase disk space for the window)

I have Version OS X El Capitan 10.11.2. Here are the details on my system.

So I tried to increase the space in the partition for the training camp by using disk utility. I created the new partition. But now I can't bootcamp while I restart the computer and hold down the option key. I tried this in the terminal:

    sudo fdisk e/dev/disk0

    p

    setpid 4

    07

    Pavilion 4

    p

    writing or w (tried both)

    There

But it does not seem to pick up my bootcamp windows. I also tried to restore the mac as early date of backup via external hard drive, but that doesn't seem to help either.

Here is the screenshot of the output. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Can you post the output of the following Terminal commands?

    diskutil list

    Cs diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk/dev/disk0

The "sudo" commands will prompt to enter your password, and there do not appear to come back. You can also see caution against improper use 'sudo' and the potential loss of data due to an "abuse" of the order.

    mjcandlec1,
Welcome to the forums.  Firstly (and this is just my personal opinion) you can actually have a bit more large partition for the operating system.  Just to receive the updates and service packs and other.

This article will show you how to change the default location of My Documents.  Also when you install programs then ensure you that you change the default installation directory, it will try to go on the C: drive.
