No shortcut (.indk) for shortcuts in InDesign file

I just finally upgraded since InDesign CS5.5 to CC2015. I have custom shortcuts, I want to bring to the new version of ID. I am told that there should be a file in folder "InDesign shortcut sets" of CS5.5 I should be able to copy in the record required in CC. I find two files, but I can only see the file Default.indk and no file to my shortcuts custom. See the screen two catches:

robsShortcuts.pngshortcutfiles.png

Can someone tell me why it is not a shortcut for my custom game file?

Thank you.

Rob

Found my answer. In addition to files for InDesign Version 5.0 and the new CC Version 11.0, I have files for Versions 6.0 and 7.5. The preselections were in the record 7.5. Don't know why I didn't research on these issues, yesterday, but happy to have my presets to return.

  • Shortcut to the file in spreadsheet gives the error "this file has no program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel. "

    I have a user running XP Pro and Office 2003.  Whenever they double click a shortcut to a file of Excel spreadsheet, the above message appears.  Is not shortcut to Excel himself, this shortcut works very well.  He finds a shortcut on the desktop to a spreadsheet saved on the hard drive.  Outreach programs and failure to file are correct.  If you click on the actual spreadsheet of its location of origin rather than the shortcut, the file opens correctly.  I repaired Office and when that did not work, deleted and reinstalled, still the same problem.  This is not isolated to Excel or the other Word documents to the same thing, so I suspect that this is a problem in the registry.

  • What is the best way to prepare a PS file for use in InDesign

    Someone at - it a ultimate list of best practices that relate to what should be done with a PS file that is intended for use in InDesign and then for offset printing? Top of page question I have, is whether or not I should reduce to about the size that it will serve to (for now the PS files are much, much larger that they should do). But I wonder also how many things I have not even thought about it yet.

    In addition to sharpness, you will need to ensure accurate COLOR. (CMYK) - If you already have a proven workflow, then you already have a decent oven CMYK, so you will be happy with the final printed result. If not, then ask your printer (or whoever's doing the plates) to make tests loose specific colors of CMYK images. This can save you various kinds of nightmares later.

  • How to create link for reference to the paragraphs or text anchor to another indesign file?

    Hello

    I'm new in indesign scripting.

    I want to create the reference, which is the link to the paragraphs (or text anchor) another indesign file (new.indd).

    My first problem is how to get all the paragraphs or anchor text of the file new.indd

    I have a TextFrame whose content is Adobe Indesign.

    I want to apply an Adobe Indesign link reference to the paragraphs with the Destination Documents: new.indd.

    How it's done by script?

    I have try to use this:

    indesign #target

    myDocument var = app.documents.add ();

    var myTextFrame = myDocument.pages.item (0).textFrames.add ();

    myTextFrame.geometricBounds is ['10', 15 ' p', '30', '35p'];.

    myTextFrame.contents = "Adobe Indesign";

    var text = myTextFrame.texts.firstItem ();

    var hyperlinkURLDestination = myDocument.hyperlinkURLDestinations.add ("C/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Desktop/new.indd");

    var DestinationDoc = hyperlinkURLDestination.parent ();

    var xRefForm = myDocument.crossReferenceFormats.item ("Page number");

    source var = myDocument.crossReferenceSources.add (text, xRefForm);

    var myLink = myDocument.hyperlinks.add (source, hyperlinkURLDestination);

    When I run this script it gives error "the destination is not valid. You can create Cross - reference to anchor text or destination of the paragraph.

    How to get all the Paragrapgs or text the file new.indd anchor and create cross-references using the this.

    Thank you.

    You can create cross-references to anchor points and paragraphs. If you need create an anchor text in new.indd, then use as the target of the cross reference:

    var anchor = app.documents.item ('new.indd').hyperlinkTextDestinations.item ('myAnchor');

    source var = app.activeDocument.crossReferenceSources.add (text, xRefForm);

    app.activeDocument.hyperlinks.add (source, anchor);

  • Method for screenshot InDesign files

    Anyone know the best way to take screen captures to an InDesign file. I tried several ways but am not please with the resolution that I get. How I did it so far is capture the screen (with print screen), then crop out that I don't need in Photoshop. Then I save it as a. GIF and place it in InDesign. The. GIF eventually became the double of what it was like a .psd and the resolution isn't there. I have to use hitch instead of what I do? Would help it?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Robyn

    A time back I needed a good OCR scanning program, so I bought ABBYY reader. With this program, they have included a program called ABBYY Screenshot reader. I think you can buy this as a standalone program if you do not have the OCR reader.

    The screenshot can be used to capture a part any one screen. It is located at the top of any page that you have open and you just to use the tool and draw a box around what you want to capture. Then, you can choose several options on what format you want as EVS. As .pdf, .jpg, .tiff, .doc, .xls, and several others. If you have the OCR program, you can also save it as a screenshot can be changed. OCR in ABBYY reader is probably one of the best in the world, if not THE best.

    I believe you can get a free trial to see how it works and get also more low prices on specific modules according to what you need.

  • Text box in the shelter to cultures placed InDesign file

    I created a map in InDesign, placed in another InDesign file in the form of a graph and then cropped it to display only a part. When I export the file, it extends one of the text labels of the image placed outside the frame, so that it was cropped. Each element is cropped.

    I copied this label of a text in its own nine file, changed to a default font (Minion) and placed this document in another InDesign document nine cropping to half way down. Exported to PDF, and exports under cover as in my original.

    I then placed it a few times on the page at various sizes. I have found that at 100% and 58%, that it would not crop, but in 211 and 855% he cropped as it should, as you can see below:

    Untitled-1.jpg

    I thought that maybe 100% and below was the key point to which he has not worked, but at 101%, it has no crop either so it's somewhere between 101 and 211% by the look of it. File card to origin is placed at about 80%.

    Anyone know what is happening? InDesign CC 2015 (11.4.1.102) Windows (and also tried on ID 2014 with the same result)

    I used a frame as a mask to correct for the area I wanted to reframe, yours seems oversized way.

    With respect to the IDML, is not all that reliable to clean the file. I suspect that this block of text is actually the problem, but had no time to test. My next test was to cut the text in the frame and remove the empty picture frame, and then create a new image and paste the text to repalce the frame of the origin of the problems.

  • Resolution of the image when you place the InDesign file in InDesign

    I feel like this is a silly question but I do not know the answer!

    If I place an InDesign file that contains a picture in a another InDesign, the resolution of the original image file is kept? For example, if I have an InDesign A5 file, that contains a chart where the ppi effective (because it's been reduced) is 600 dpi, and then I place the entire InDesign file it in another file and EXPAND, what happens to my graph?

    Thank you!

    I have a document with an InDesign file linked, an area of text that is used in many documents, so interested in this issue.

    I did a quick test and it seems to work as it should. I made a smaller file with an image linked and bound the Indesign file in a larger document, and since it is a linked InDesign file it recognizes and displays the image in the links Panel.

  • Lo-res images appear in the exported PDF from Indesign files - anyone else having this problem?

    I used Indesign for years without this problem...

    But I noticed recently that many of these images (PSD, TIFF, or JPEG) that I placed in Indesign files are exported as pixelated, versions low resolution when I export for printing (PDF/X-1).

    I tried different settings, but in each case, the image (which appears thin and sharp as seen in Indesign) came out like a pixelated mess blurred.

    This seems to have started happening in the past months.

    Vector graphics are fine.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    Or someone at - it a solution?

    Also use some PDF parameters where resolution is not sous-echantillonnees at all.

    Turn off downsampling.

    And I would like to test, when you export to PDF/X-4 would make to the resolution of the images.

    Just to know, if something is fundamentally wrong with your PDF export feature perhaps.

    When the InCopy user opens him InDesign file or assignment - the preferred/normal workflow - all paragraph styles are included. Then they scroll the document to find your text block empty and then check it out for editing. All styles are always at their disposal.

    Looks like you have IC users open linked InCopy stories (BCTI files) directly. It is possible to do, but as you have seen, a side effect is that then they get only the styles used in this story. (Along w / many other disadvantages.) Since there is no text in the history, there is no recorded her styles.

  • image quality emf export indesign file to PDF

    In my business, I prepare pdf reports. PDF files include graphics generated in excel.

    the process I use is:

    make charts in excel-> export graphics to the emf format in the specific folder (as emf is done with macro vba to export)-> link EMF to indesign-> export indesign as pdf (print)

    I am trying to implement a type of graph that includes transparency (in the specific case, a histogram with transparent colors, highlight a specific area of the graph).

    EMF are exported "correctly", as can be seen in the fixed samples

    the problem arises in indesign, when I export the indesign file to PDF (see final results):

    -J' I used to use compatibility Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3), which - for what I understand - does not recognize transparency and causes the diagrams to export with transparency to 100%

    -If I use greater compatibility (Acrobat 5 or higher), transparency is exported correctly but all the tables and "fuzzy" exported graphics (or maybe a little too intense). The effect is not considered at higher zooms - but it is important to me as graphics look OK at all zooms because report is sent to customers with initial view as full page.

    using another format that emf is not a viable option. What can be a solution in this situation? I would like to understand what is the type of adjustment of export should I use to get a clean exit.

    in case the problem is known, I would like if you can please redirect me to correct the discussion.

    Thank you.

    You can post screenshots or link to files in a dropbox folder. That said, you are using an inherently low high-end, imprecise graphical format and is awaiting the results of high-end. There are tradeoffs here.

    The best advice I can give you without you actually hire me to go through your workflow, is to stick with solid colors and make sure your transparency blend space in InDesign are defined in RGB if these documents will be viewed on screen only.
