  • No sound at all on my HDMI 8510w

    Hello

I have a HP Compaq 8510w with SKU number, KE187EA #ABN, who has a card of nVidia Quadro FX 570 M (with HDMI output) graphics.

I use HDMI for a long time to see the video on my TV, but there the HDMI output only broadcasts the video and no sound at all, so far I had to connect to the audio jack of my soundsystem separately, that works, but it is annoying as the HDMI output is supposed to audio output as well.

I'm running Win7 64 bit with the latest nVidia drivers for the nVidia Web site downloaded FX 570 M. I also have the latest drivers for the audio chipset (ADI AD1981HD) downloaded with the HP SoftPaq Downloader.

I've read other places online when I connect the HDMI cable, I should get an alternative to select RealTek HDMI output in playback devices options (see [1] and [2] for source). However, this never shows, no matter what I try.

I get two choices are (see screenshot http://i.imgur.com/ayysDeQ.jpg)

    (1) speakers - SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio

    (2) audio digital (S/PDIF) - SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio

(Yes, I tried pressing the S/PDIF device and set it as the default device - turn off also the other entry and so on).

Also, I find no link between RealTek and laptop computer when searching online, so I don't know if this information applies to my specific device. (I see the repair there is a 8510w with an ATI graphics card as well - so maybe procedure for these devices?).

However, because the audio should go through the graphics card, I guess I should have an entry for the nVidia HD Audio driver (which is supplied with the graphics card driver) under sound, video and game controllers in the Device Manager in Windows. However, here I have only one entry which is SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio one. Is this correct?

Advice on how I can solve this problem?

  • Received a phone call that is supposed to come from Microsoft Help Desk all downloaded on my computer junk files! Is it a scam?

I got an unexpected phone call this morning. The man at the other end is said to Microsoft Help Desk. He said he had an urgent problem with my computer. He said that, as part of the automatic updates download, my computer had downloaded some unwanted files likely to damage my computer. He said that the files would fill my drive causing my computer to grind to a halt and also undermine my security software, leaving my computer vulnerable to attacks. He wanted to sit in front of my computer and he would talk to me through fixing it. I did apologize and hung up. I now had two of these calls.

The sounds of all of this as a scam to me! I have no way of verifying that this person has been Microsoft at all, and I can't imagine Microsoft never call someone at home like that. I guess it was someone trying to access my computer for criminal purposes. I couldn't find anything on the web site of Microsoft to think there was no truth in what in told me.

Can anyone offer me any advice?

  • I have UN-plugged my speakers and replaced by headphones. Noise if the headphoens is fine. I now want to put the spekares back in, but there is no sound at all

    original title: SOUND

I have UN-plugged my speakers and replaced by headphones. Noise if the headphoens is fine. I now want to put the spekares back in, but there is no sound at all. Can anyone help?

So they are pregnant Dell with standard 3.5 mm USB powered plug (* and even the green port plug in as shown in the picture)?

Therefore, the USB plugged into the port in the back of the computer for power to the speakers?  Try a different USB port - just to see if the chosen one does not provide the necessary power.

Make sure that the speakers are turned on and the volume is turned all the top (to the right).

Make sure that the sound output is not cut on your computer (plug in the headphones to check what you mean by them.

Plug the 3.5 mm of the speaker to the green port on the computer (see photo above.)

If you don't hear sound... Unplug the plug 3.5 mm and touch something metal - static electricity?  The speakers become power at all?

Looks like you ended up with a corrupted sndvol32.exe on your computer. This requires usually restore it from your disk system recovery or a recovery hard disk volume. He will have to type a few commands in the command line. Follow the detailed tutorial here to solve the problem of the Windows Volume control program is not installed.

Some specific command line steps that require you to know exactly which drive is your recovery partition, then you won't be able to copy and paste the article orders, but the steps will get you to the solution.

    BJ Gawle

    Hi B.J.Gawle,

    Method 1

Looks like you're using a laptop and this would happen if the default audio device is not set to internal computer speakers.

    (a) open the Control Panel.

    (b) double click on the sounds and Audio devices icon.

    (c) click the Audio tab and under audio playback, select the audio device on the laptop.

    (d) click apply and restart the computer, check to see if it helps.

    Method 2

If fails it above step then check out the link below and run the Fixit tool available, check if it helps.

  • Windows 8 no sound at all

Help, I turned on my laptop mode 'sleep' everything seemed fine is past on my fault as my things, so I went to play a video from hulu. I'm no sound at all. I thought it was my headphones, I have not disconnected the no sound tried another pair of headphones no sound. I tried to adjust the volume and the volume adjustment screw. The one on the bottom in the queue little that shows the battery and internet acess froze. So does the application in real time when I launched it and tried to adapt it from there. the integrated 8 win one works well even if there is still no sound coming from my laptop. I NEED HELP VERY BADLY, PLEASE HELP ME! (yes I tried to restart and I am about to install new drivers for the sound) Also just before I put it in mode 'sleep', I installed an update windows audio worked very well but after that.

Had the same problem, its working ok, then suddenly disappeared. has followed all of the steps above, but nothing helped. Notice that the output device in my device manager was not my speakers but my digital output port on the back of my laptop. No internal speakers listed anywhere. programs enabled in the control panel to verify that my audio codecs Realtek was still there.  They showed that installed, but the version from January 2013. The off chance went to Realtek website, downloaded and installed the latest version of codecs for windows 8 64-bit.  Easy exe. file, uninstall old codecs then installs the most recent version. After installation, my internal speakers were still visible as the audio output by default, has been able to adjust and test the speakers and the volume again and, even better, they worked.  Audio test of my files music, videos on the web and a DVD/CD.  Everything worked as it should.  Guess something must have corrupted the codecs, but now, the computer is fine. Hope this helps someone.

  • Deliver the sound does not work on the computer.

So sometimes the sound on my computer works just simply. This problem occurred recently: after watching a few movies on the computer using a double headphone output (I was watching with my sister) it worked fine, no problem. A day or two later, I tried to watch a video (on headphones) and the left earphone wasn't working - no sound didn't go out. I figured out the headphones were very good, but it's the computer problem. He started to work again the next day, but then most problems - sometimes no sound at all. No speakers or the headphones. Ever since then, it's like Russian Roulette, sometimes it is sound, sometimes it does not. I just wish the best. I tried troubleshooting and he said that he could not detect any problems. I tried to it turn on and off again? Yes, several times.

I'm desperate for help! Thanks in advance.

    Hello

If the computer has a separate sound card remove ALL power and then remove and reinstall
the map. If it's built-in sound so either she developed a hardware problem or
something interferes with him. If the device goes wrong it may be replaced if

a separate device or it can be disabled in the BIOS or Device Manager and
a card can be used OR a USB card sound.

Check in the Device Manager - Sound - Driver tab - go to the site of the manufacturer of the audio device
Download and install the latest driver.

  • Why Firefox 31 change all icons PDF and open in browser, require a fix by using REGEDIT to set for all USERS on a computer?

The solution to use REGEDIT in the question linked below almost fixed my problem with PDF files on more than 30 computers with multiple users on each computer:
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/1013642

But I need to fix for all users on a computer without logging on each account on each computer. My challenge was to log on as an administrator and change the following key of the overall system instead:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\.PDF

    Name: by default
    Type: Reg_SZ
    Data: FirefoxHtm

    Changed FirefoxHtm to AcroExch.Document.11 data

I use Adobe Reader XI on Win7 Pro 64-bit machines.
The problem started when I ran a file downloaded to install the new version of Firefox on computers.

Why Firefox would require me to use REGEDIT in this way to solve the problem?

This only happens when you set Firefox as the default browser and Firefox thinks that there is currently no application PDF file handles.
