  I have a pavilion g6-1b70us I'm trying to connect my TV with an hdmi cable.  I get a picture but no sound.  Previously, this worked without problems.  When I shoot to the top of my reading of the sound settings, the only options are speakers and the headphones.  When I shoot to the top of my devices, the Samsung TV is there, but it is described as a "generic monitor" (thinking it was weird).  I have uninstalled and reinstalled my intel graphics driver and IDC audio driver but still no sound through TV.  Also, I will mention that in sub control panel > sounds and devices there is a link to the SRS Premium Sound technology.  As you can see in the image below, the Samsung device is, but it is greyed out and cannot be selected. Can someone please?

  Well in case anyone is interested I have solved the problem (only took me 12 hours to understand, lol).  Apparently, even if the Samsung TV did not appear in the audio options, you can still right click in the empty box and a toggle option will appear.

  Thank you, but I had already checked the stuff related to the sound and figured out that the problem had to do with the plugin Adobe Flash Player (aka Shockwave Flash). I finally solved it by uninstalling Flash Player (using a special tool is downloaded by Adobe), the deletion of a bunch of files created by Flash Player in various locations on my computer and reinstall Flash Player.   Since upgrading to Firefox 23.0.1, I noticed that I had intermittent problems with no audio in Youtube videos. I've since discovered that, if I go on youtube for a video, there is no audio.   The functionality of the safe_mode of the Flash player plugin has security benefits, but there seem to be some compatibility issues on some systems. There is a hidden for this parameter:

  (A) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

  (B) in the search above the list box, type or paste the flash and make a pause so that the list is filtered

  (C) double-click the preference dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable - protected mode to change its value from false to true.

  Hello madperson. I downloaded this extension and we'll see. The only solution I thought so far is out the latest video from YouTube that I saw before closing Firefox. This way, when you start Firefox again, there will be nothing in this pinned tab, but the YouTube URL. It's a pain, but I'll let know you soon if this extension solves the problem.
